Staff here hit it out of the park! The lovely gentleman at the Front desk was warm, kind and certainly went above and beyond to unsure our stay was the best possible. Hotel is modestly furnished with comfy feel and the bed is super plush. Everything is very fresh and clean with a nice feel throughout. We will definitely stay again!!

Lovely to stay with the best service and beautiful room. Best location in Central. It was so comfortable to go anywhere during the stay. One of the front office staff Hong was so kind, warm welcome upon check in and he was so helpful all the time!! He is so professional receptionist:) If you would like to enjoy Sydney with perfect service, Highly recommend staying here!!

Perfect for overnight accomodation. Walking distance from Central Railway Station. Walk to shops, restaurants, Woolworths and Chinatown. Nice and clean. Great coffee machine and snacks for breakfast. 10/10 to gentleman on the service desk. Thankyou what a nice man

The hotel location is good. It is very close to Central Station. The room was huge. But the lighting for the work desk was so dim. You may need extra concentration if you need to work. Since the room was very long, it would be a bit of distance to watch TV from the bed.

The pool was underwhelming in size of the hotel. It was difficult to relax with the number of children enjoying themselves and having a good time. The location adjacent to central station allows for seamless trips into the city. Overall, I would recommend the Mercure as a “pit stop” while enjoying the city of Sydney. I have lost count of the number of times I have stayed at this hotel. It is my go to place when I am in Sydney and I am busy and all I need to a place to dump my gear and lay my head. I have searched for and occasionally used other cheap hotels in Sydney but the Song is ideal for me. If you want a more centrally located (but with shared bathing facilities) try Song in Wentworth Ave. I am always somewhat bemused when I read one star reviews. I guess the reviewer has not completed ”The Economics of Hotel Management 101.” The price you pay for a room in a hotel in Sydney depends on location, room size, facilities and staff numbers. Minimise all of these and you can charge a figure closer to $100 than $300. So, do your homework before booking any accommodation. The Song is wedged between very busy Cleveland Street and the busiest section of rail in Australia. The double glazed windows reduce the sound considerably. I always get a good night sleep, more often because of my abject tiredness &/or my alcoholic intake. Don't bring a cat to the Song because when in your room you won't be able to swing it!! There is usually one staff member who signs you in and then you are left alone. Previously I always enjoyed breakfast in the cafe. Because of COVID it was not operating, nevertheless, they gave me a paper bag with cereal, milk, apple and muesli bar. Oh yes the kettle was not working. I did report this misdemeanour to management. So, the Song is not the Ritz but it offers exactly what I want when I visit Sydney, close to Central Railway station, Chinatown and the multitude of restaurants in Surry Hills.

Good deal from trip. Nice place to stay in. However, there is no free parking and no amenities given eg. Toothbrush. There is kitchen in the apartment. Service is ok.

We spent 11 nights at the Veriu and had a wonderful time. The beds are super comfortable and the sheets feel lovely and soft. The AC and WiFi worked really well. We really enjoyed having a little living room area and the convenience of a washer and dryer. The only downside is that a balcony with no furniture was pretty useless in our experience. The staff are all really friendly and the reception area is a good place to hang if you want to enjoy the happy hour. Location wise it’s brilliant. Walking distance to Chinatown but with a bus stop a short walk away to get you to Bondi or Central Station. Even around the hotel there are great restaurants in Glebe as well as a shopping mall. It really is a brilliant location as despite being close to so many things it’s a quiet street so you can get a good nights sleep. The only downside we experienced was that the people above us on floor 5 were seemingly dragging furniture around and the noise carried into our room. This was only for a few nights though. If we were coming back to Sydney we would stay here in a heartbeat. We had a really wonderful time and would recommend it to anyone.

If you're just looking for a place to sleep and shower, but plan to be out exploring most of the day, I would recommend this hotel. There are virtually no amenities (a card in the room stated there was a continental breakfast, but that was nowhere to be seen) so if you are looking for any of those, this is not the place for you. The room was mostly clean (the shower could have used some love) and the bed was comfortable, but the lack of windows freaked me out more than I thought it would. The staff was kind, but not extremely helpful. Twice I asked for restaurant recommendations, but both times I was told they don't know the area well and couldn't suggest anything. Overall, it was a fine and safe place to sleep within walking distance to multiple areas worth exploring
