We like so many things about this hotel! At first, we had doubts about its location as it is a bit further from the city centre, but when we reached the hotel, our mind changed immediately. The location is great for us, it’s just 5-min walking from the Granville train station, minimum chaos involved to find the hotel since you can practically see it from the station itself; so near, so distinctive, you’ll notice it easily! It’s located above a bar, it wasn’t too noisy so it’s okay. Check in and check out were quick and easy, Wi-Fi works perfectly. We got upgraded from a Double Room to a Family Room, but we loved it since it has a lot of natural light; very refreshing in the morning and breezy at night. Our room is okay, beds are comfy, we’ve got clean towels ready as well. The room comes with a mini fridge, kettle, iron & iron board, paper cups, basic tea, coffee, sugar combo, and we also have a huge TV. We found the multiple power points next to each bed very interesting and helpful, so that’s definitely a plus point! The shared bathrooms for female are located mainly around the single/double rooms, but we’re cool with it. The bathrooms come with complimentary Shampoo, Body Wash, Conditioner, hot water, so all is good. They are usually clean in the morning, so no complains. There are many eateries nearby, also marts. There’s a halal Pakistani/Arab food outlet right across the hotel and we loved how generous they are with the food; they’re usually open in the evening till late so it’s really helpful for us to get takeouts after a long day sightseeing in the city. The hotel doesn’t have an elevator and the stairs are pretty steep, but the staff helped us with our luggage. There’s a washer, but no dryer.
The wooden floor is very noisy. Every Time someone walk down the stairs it makes sound.other than that very nice room and bed and clean toilet too.location is very convenient. 7min from the train station.close to supermarket and some nice restaurants.
For the price we paid, it was quite good. It was fairly clean & tidy. However, some of the fixtures are aging a bit, our mirror had started to desilver a little & the shower curtain rod had a light tint of rust on it (a good scrub with steel wool will fix it); the shower head needs a limescale cleaning or replacing as it kind of sprays everywhere except where you expect it. The room includes everything you would need to sleep two people & live comfortably for an extended time. The appliances are relatively new, including a drawer Dishwasher, 2 burner electric Stove top & washing machine/dryer. If you do stay here, treat yourself to breakfast, It's one of the better hotel kitchens I have had the pleasure of eating at. The Staff here are Great, very Polite & extremely helpful, and they never gave me the impression that they were too busy to help. We had the City View (Parramatta), it's quite nice at night. I visit about once a month, and have been doing so for a long time. The staff are very welcoming and go out of their way to organise my booking in my preferred room. The suite is excellent. Always impeccably clean, and perfect for my requirements. The hotel is within easy walking distance to Parramatta’s CBD and restaurants. I intend to return each time my business takes me to Parramatta
We had a one night stay in Parramatta to attend a theatre show. Check in took a little longer than expected, but I understand there was training taking place. Staff seemed knowledgeable about the parking and surrounding area. We went to our room which was clean and comfortable. Welcome amenity was nice and welcome drink was a bottle of wine in the room. Spa bath wasn't that big and given the space in the bathroom, it could definitely be upgraded when the room is refurbished. I had emailed regarding Accor Plus member food discount ahead of our stay. Upon check out we were told a different price. Then we were told another price. Eventually we made it to the price I had been expecting as per earlier communication. I was told by a manager that the Accor Gold membership is a new thing they are offering benefits for. It was odd to me, as the program has been about some time. Also, I was the one explaining the ALL loyalty program and the Accor Plus Program (free membership and paid membership). Whilst they are linked, the food discount is only applicable in the 'Plus' membership, but there seems to be no uniformity across Accor properties and how they choose to offer/honour the discount. This is incredibly frustrating as a paying member as in every hotel you need to question their participation in the program and to what level (mains only, all food, not on kids meals), as they all seem to do their own thing. It is BEYOND infuriating. This is something Accor need to enforce across all properties. Overall, a comfortable and pleasant stay was had at the hotel, just some issues to iron out, as mentioned.
Please note the date of this review. The current owners have only been there six months, and they are pleasant and very helpful. Although the information is there, it is not immediately clear that parking is very, very limited and needs to be pre-booked. There is an arrangement with the local Westfield, which left me - an elderly solo female traveller - slogging uphill to return to the hotel on the day before garbage pickup. Very smelly and unpleasant. (Returning downhill after garbage pickup not such a problem!) Room was elegant and spotless. But also unclear from the webpage is that there is no evening meal service, only basic breakfast - with a very nice carrot cake - which left me eating a chocolate bar and chips for the evening meal. No, there doesn't seem to be any nearby cafe. All in all, this should be branded as a Hoilday Inn Express. And, no, a microwave oven doesn't turn a room into a suite. I suggest choosing the other Parramatta Holiday Inn. If I'd realised the problems in advance I'd have cancelled and swapped. It will be interesting to see what the new owners make of it when they've had a bit more time.

We stayed for four nights and really enjoyed our stay. Location was great. Woolworths and fast food options across the street. The service from Jack was excellent. He went out of his way to make sure me and my family were comfortable. Rooms were outdated but the suite was nice, and everything was well cleaned. Look forward to our next stay.
