It has 2 outdoor pools and spacious air-conditioned apartments. COMMENT In June 2023 We found our apartment 205 for 10 days to NOTt to be of 4star standard at all. PRO: The bedlinen and bathroom towels were very clean and of good quality. The air conditioning worked. The ceiling fans worked. The apartment was spacious. The fridge worked but bottom of door shelving missing. Inconvenient if you wanted to store water bottles etc. CONS: ” Each unit at the Edge has a flat-screen TV”., which was NOT working and had to be re-connected by guest. “Free Wi-Fi” NOT available in unit 205 – we were informed by office unless you wanted to stand outside of office area to connect. Apartment was dark, - lighting in all rooms inadequate and woefully dim and outdated. Lighting in laundry area was badly positioned – and here there were no instructions on how machine worked. *Vertical Blinds in poor state and need maintenance or replacement. *All doors (screen and glass sliding) need maintenance to run smoothly. *The furniture was inappropriate (apart from 2 leather sofas) and badly arranged. *The ambience was noisy. The decor throughout the apartment – wasn’t.!! Except 2 pictures hung almost at ceiling. – 1 small mirror in dark hallway., and a wall clock. (All 15 years or more in age) *No rugs or furnishings to soften the décor or the echo sounding throughout the apartment. *Coffee table in bad state. *Dining table satisfactory but serviced by 2 different types of chairs. *The bathroom needed maintenance/upgrade (and pictures I have taken show much damage to outer base of shower, mould along the wall.) *The kitchens come equipped with very basic essentials. A microwave and dishwasher., utensils for cooking on very old worn stove. “Some units have balconies with sea or mountain views”, others, like ours, at 205 had overgrown foliage with NO views. The Edge Apartments Cairns has an outdoor entertainment area with barbecue facilities and free on-site private parking. *The Rain forestation Nature Park is 11 miles from The Edge Apartments. Kuranda Scenic Railway and Skyrail Rainforest Cableway are only a 10-minute drive away.

We booked this apartment for a family holiday for 4 people. We booked a 2 bedroom apartment which had plenty of space, air con in each room and living room, and was stocked with all the amenities that a family would need such as a dishwasher, dryer, etc. The apartment is about a 30 minute walk from the main area of Cairns so we needed to catch an Uber each time which wasn’t ideal. The reception hours are also limited to working hours each day. We did have an issue with a shower handle coming off it’s hinge and had to wait until morning to have this fixed. We could also hear people walking up and down as the complex isn’t very sound proofed. There was a clean accessible pool which we also used. There was a clean bbq space too which would be useful for family gatherings. Overall, we had a generally enjoyable stay but would consider staying somewhere closer to the main area if we were to visit again.

Stayed 1 night owing to its location to rental car pound and airport. Dropped car off at rentals, walked back to the hotel. Our room was ready, even though we were early, no problem, very welcoming receptionist. Room had everything we needed - but it overlooked the main Highway. We ate in restaurant that night, perfectly adequate, very helpful waiting staff. Asked hotel to arrange taxi for a 4.30 pick up. Taxi arrived on time and dropped us off at the airport. Everything went well, apart from the noise. The road is very busy till late and internally someone near to our room was having shower/bath late at night and the plumbing seemed to go right through our room.

We stayed for 5 nights in total and couldn’t have been more impressed with both the rooms and the service at Tropic Towers. First impressions were already great as I called to change some dates due to a Fitzroy Island overnight stay - Peta could not have been more helpful and made changes to our booking free of charge, even though I called the day before our stay. When we arrived, Peta was so welcoming and explained the area to us as it was our first time in Cairns. We stayed in a 1 Bedroom and 2 Bedroom apartment during our time at Tropic Towers and both were immaculate, spacious and like a home away from home. Full kitchens in both rooms meant we had no issues cooking on a couple of evenings. We had a beautiful view of the sunset from our balconies too! Peta even offered for us to leave two of our bags with her for the night of our Fitzroy Island stay, instead of having to take them over to the island on the ferry. We would definitely recommend this place and look forward to staying again in future! Thank you again Peta :)

From the time we arrived the staff were very friendly. We got a package deal and all the free extras were correct(no hunting things down). The food at both restaurants/bar were delicious. While this resort is large and holds many poeple at a time, you did not hear much noise from other guests. Only complaint I have is the putt putt and karts were not open(or stayed open until) as per time stated. Kids didn't get use those facilities. I will book here again.

Bilik ini agak besar, kurang daripada 30 meter persegi, dan nisbah prestasi harga agak tinggi. Hotel sebelum ketibaan Melalui perkhidmatan pelanggan saya, saya memaklumkan kod pengambilan kunci dan kod pintu hotel, kerana pintu hotel dikunci selepas 0:00 hingga 5:30 pagi, tetapi saya perlu keluar awal kerana penerbangan awal. On the first night we discovered the TV in our room had a smashed screen and the bed was so old you could feel every spring. Second night we were moved to another room, TV worked but there was no internet so you couldn't access any of the apps on the smart TV, free to air only. Morning of day 4 we went to make breakfast at 7.45am and couldn't access the guest kitchen (which ic in the pool area) as the pool gates were still locked. The guest kitchen has next to no equipment for cooking anyway, 1 spatula, no tongs, no knives, 1 usable small frypan, an electric frypan that doesn't work, a toaster, microwave and kettle. The sign on the back of our room door says no food in the rooms, but if there are no facilities to cook or keep food outside of it, then you can't comply. The bed in the second room was more comfortable and the rooms were clean. The shared toilets were clean, but the shared showers need some serious attention on the mouldy grout. Very run down place, the a/c and ceiling fan worked, the fridge, kettle, microwave and TV worked. Pool was great, hot tub worked, but the rest of the facilities were either non-existent or in terrible disrepair. This resort really needs some money invested in repairs and replacing items used by the guests. The photos on the website were obviously taken years ago when this would have been a lovely resort with a bar and Cafe which are now closed indefinitely. Dry powder was spread from the room, to the hallway, toilets and under other doors. The fire alarm and evacuation notice sounded at 1.50am, while standing in the evacuation area with the other guests at 2am, the culprit was nowhere to be seen and the night caretaker didn't even do a head count of guests or check that everyone was out! What if there had been a fire? That was Wednesday night, it is now Friday morning and the extinguisher has not yet been replaced, so there is nothing to use on the ground floor if a fire started.
