Our room here was of a higher standard than that at the Pinnacle’s Edge Resort. It was a standard motel room. It was close to everything e.g. a tavern, the fish and chip shop, the beach. It was an ideal base from which to explore the town, beach and National Park. However, the room had not been cleaned properly. There was a dirty food pot under the bed and a sweet under the chair. The tea towel did not seem to be fresh. This was one of only two motels/hotels that we stayed in in our five weeks in Australia that did not provide a daily cleaning service or a change of towels. Our main problem was that there was a very strong light shining into our bedroom from the wall outside of the laundry which meant that our room was not dark when we wanted to sleep.

Thrilled to have a ground floor seafront unit. We were able to sit outside and watch the amazing sun sets right across the road from the water. The complex is dated but well maintained, clean and well equiped with everything needed. Laundry facilities are available as well as a well maintained pool. Ideal location and would certainly recommend.

We spent about 10 days here over the school holidays, in one of the two-bedroom apartments, and had a fantastic time. Craig and Michelle are both dedicated to making sure everything is in order for their visitors, and are hard working and eager to please, going above and beyond in their thoughtfulness and their efforts to make sure we were well looked after. I gather that they took over Pelican's Nest a bit over half a year ago, and it's obvious that they are working hard to do an excellent job all round. The accommodation was neat and clean, and several special needs we'd asked about (e.g. DVD player) were attended to as well. We were staying with an elderly parent who needed wheelchair/walker access, and the place we'd been allocated was perfect for that, including adjacent parking (even traffic cones to ”protect” our parking spot when we went out touring). Everything we needed was provided, including a linen change half-way our stay, and replacement towels every few days. The location is terrific, just a few minutes walk from the river. All in all, fantastic place to stay, highly recommend.

Our 4 night stay at Gecko Lodge was outstanding in our 5 week trip in WA. A warm welcome from Sha, followed by a home cooked afternoon tea set the theme for our whole stay and the friendly manner of all the staff. The gecko motifs throughout, including a plush toy on our pillow, were a lot of fun. The bed was beautifully comfortable and the room well designed...everything worked so well, including laundry facilities available easily. The breakfast with a huge bowl of fruit and freshly baked bread is taken in a light and airy breakfast room. Cooked breakfast also available and it kept us going all day! The common facilities, BBQ, pool and loungeroom were all spotlessly clean and spacious. Thank you Sha, family and staff for a truly memorable stay. Coupled with Kalbarri's natural wonders, we will certainly recommend Gecko Lodge.

It is very close to beach, Pelican feeding in morning etc, Pelican Cafe at end of road had amazing food/coffee. Our room was nice, clean and beds were great. There is a shared living space which we did not use but kitchen was very well equipped if needed. Multiple clean clothes available if needed to wash up etc. We walked to Finlay’s for dinner, approx 5 minute walk. It looks a bit rough from the outside but room/location for us was perfect for what we needed…. a bed for a couple nights while out exploring.

It’s a decent camp with clean setup. One problem booking with trip.com is that the site will ask for your credit card and then give the key. I arrived late and need to call a local number to get connected which is not convenient and they don’t accept whatapp or any other one line method.
