Travelling with someone who is not my partner and selected a self-contained villa online. When we arrived, there was just one double bed in the shared sleeping / living room. The photos of the villas on the TMV website has only one picture showing both beds and that has the double in one room and a single in the living area. As we were not a couple, that is what we wanted and expected. We paid $150 expecting 2 rooms. I could have paid $100 in Newcastle for a single room with 2 beds. When I called the reception, I was told there was a sofa bed and if I pulled it out it should have sheets on it. The staff came to the villa and the sofa was opened, ejecting a number of crumbs, half eaten chips and an old drink bottle covered on cobwebs. The sheets were on the sofa bed, but from when? I just slept in my clothes on top of the sheets and showered in the morning. The person who had been on reception was quite dismissive suggesting the problem was because we booked on line. ( why be on booking.com if it's not ok to book on line?). If we didn't like it, we could get a refund and go somewhere else ( at 9pm on a Saturday). But to add some balance, if there had been a separate room as in the photo on the website and the bed had been made up and not filled with what had fallen down the back of the couch, then it might not have been too bad. It was clean, quiet and good enough for a one night stay. But not for $150 a night in Newcastle.

Excellent well furnished accommodation for one week at modest price. Comfortable, clean and sizable bedding. Unit was provided with ample complimentary amenities - soaps, shamps & cons, hair dryer, tissues etc. Very clean shower and toilet; Super hot water and excess towels. Mwave, toaster and jug with adequate plates, cutlery, cups and glasses. Simple, understandable compendium and beaut TV - Freeview & Netflix. Will definitely stay again with wonderful hosts. Was desperate for somewhere to stay in Newcastle so booked this room. What a mistake! Had trouble checking in because it was a self-check in (on the mobile), then realized that there is no reception on-site! Had to follow instructions just to get into my room. Inside the room was very basic. There was only one fly screen on the windows and the top of the toilet was cracked and shabby. In today's society where everything is reviewed by people like me, I don't know how this place stays in business! Avoid if at all possible!

The room was tidy and clean, had a few issues with access codes but they had that fixed up immediately after call

Due to airport and airline chaos during school holidays, we had to drive between Canberra and the Gold Coast and on the way back, we decided to stop over at Newcastle. We (family with 2 young kids) have not used hotel style accommodation since the kids were born and rise of Air BNB for a long time and due to short notice, we decided to book this style of accommodation. We had the 2 bedroom apartment and the accomodation is situated in the residential/industrial area, which was in a quiet location. The rooms are clean, modern, the beds were actually quite comfy. And yes as we expected in a traditional hotel setting, there is not much room for kids to run around, which doesn't bother us. The best thing is the restaurants (A club) are just next door and we don't have to worry about looking for food in an unfamiliar place. We had lovely dinner and breakfast there. Food is reasonably decent and reasonably priced. The staff are friendly and courteous. Overall, it was a lovely over night stay for stop over

Everything clean and high quality. Very professional operation. Great for groups with a wonderful catering size kitchen fully equipped. Good quiet location just a short drive from everything in Newcastle. Cleaners very particular about everything.
