Our second time at this very good Motor Inn. It’s not in the CBD of Melbourne but with the excellent transport system it might as well be. Large room with all the amenities we stayed a week and was there mostly to just sleep. If you’re looking for something a bit out of the CBD and like to use public transport, give this place a go. Reasonably priced and recommended.

My wife and I operate a small coach tour company, and have done so for the last 28 years. We offer residents of Sydney, the Central Coast, the Southern Highlands, Canberra and Queanbeyan, the opportunity to travel on a variety of tours, ranging from four days to ten days in length, to different areas in Eastern Australia. Last week, a group of our passengers from these areas travelled on a seven-day tour to Victoria. During the tour, our passengers stayed for four nights at the Novotel Melbourne Preston. We certainly have no complaints or regrets about using this Hotel for our group’s stay! When I first contacted the Hotel in September 2023, about the possibility of using it for my tour group’s accommodation for this tour, my enquiry was treated with genuine enthusiasm. I was put through to the Sales Manager, Ms Michele Kerrigan. Michele was amazing to deal with. After a steady stream of telephone conversations and emails during the next few days, the accommodation was booked, and the menus for all the dinners during this stay were locked in. At some hotels we’ve used over the years, this process can take weeks, and it can be quite a frustrating experience. At this Hotel, it was the exact opposite. So, a huge ‘thank you’ to Michele, for making this all so easy for us as tour organisers! After all the arrangements we finalised, and the booking was locked in, Michele passed on our booking to the Sales Coordinator, Annalise Dimase. Once again, Annalise was an absolute delight to work with! Between the finalisation of the booking, and the date of the group’s arrival, we spoke many, many times on the phone, and exchanged many, many emails. In all my dealings with Annalise, she was professional, personable, helpful, patient, and attentive. On a few occasions, when Annalise was unavailable, I was transferred to Nada, another member of the Sales Team. Again, Nada was wonderful to work with. When our tour group arrived at the hotel, Michele, Nada, and Annalise were all there to greet the passengers. They were very impressed by the warm and friendly welcome offered to them by this team! Once inside the Hotel, this level of service was experienced in all sections. The reception staff, the housekeeping staff, the restaurant staff, the chef and kitchen staff were all friendly, welcoming, obliging, and helpful. We would have no hesitation in recommending this Hotel to any tour groups requiring accommodation in Melbourne. Judging by our experience, it would be difficult to surpass the level of attentiveness and friendliness offered by the management team and staff, the quality of service, the degree of comfort, and the attention to detail our group received during their stay. Wow, how sad. I had previously stayed at this motel, and it was exceptional value for money. How things change. I'm in Melbourne due to my daughter being in the Austin Hospital. I am currently on crutches following knee surgery. On arrival, I found a park (no disabled parking), I checked in as i was aware you could not check in past 7pm, was given a key and directions that my room was down the hall, l put my stuff in the room, and went straight to the hospital, arriving back at 8pm. Arrived to find no towels or facewashers in my room, just 2 bath mats. There were no instructions on how anything worked. There is no reception to get towels. Just a bed, shower, microwave, dunny, and kettle. Next morning, I had to leave early at 8am. Again, there is no reception. Left a note advising that there were no towels, facewashers, etc, in the room and requesting the password for the WiFi. Got back again at 8pm to the ROOM TOTALLY UNTOUCHED, NOT CLEANED, NO TOWELS, NO BED MADE NOTHING! And NO RECEPTION to have anything changed. Again, I have to use a bathmat after a shower. This morning, I go to check out at 8am NO RECEPTION! At 8.15, reception opens, l advise the young lady of my experience to which she apologised. All in all, if you are after a bed (hard as a rock), a shower with no towels, noisy air-conditioning, a toilet, kettle, microwave, instant coffee and tea, cup, and teaspoon, are used to lots of road noise, like to be woken in the middle of the night by other guests talking in the corridor, not in need of a disabled park, can handle stairs, have no instructions on how to use anything, have hidden light switches, have very unkempt outside areas, then the Bell Motel is for you. This is just really sad. Be aware. Ps. On the morning of check out, whilst waiting for the 8am reception to arrive at 8.15, I noticed a QR code on the back of the key. When scanned, this opens a compendium that does have the WiFi password. It also states that the room will be cleaned and replenished daily. It also has a range of terms and conditions that the booking website did not have. I really hope that this place can return to what it was last time I visited, reception that was available during the advertised hours, information on how to get things out of hours (such as towels), the basic breaky which was excellent, comfortable beds, rooms cleaned as expected and...towels. Was a lovely place to stay. Will definitely stay there again when visiting Melbourne. Clean , staff were lovely , security parking . Easy access to local coffee shops. Highly Recommended

The price is reasonable but what you are expected is a budget motel. Very centralised location and convenient to different places. The hotel is just off to the main road which is quite noisy throughout day and night. Even at 11pm at night or 6am in the morning, you would expect the tram and car noise. No room service at this moment. You can ask for new linen if it’s a long stay but it’s not encouraged. Limited sanitary and toiletries supply in the room. You need to ask all the time. ( only a few packs of shampoo are provided. No conditioner or shower gel) No complimentary bottle of water are provided. Room is a bit dusty. Bed is hard not very comfy. Car space is available but the entrance through the arcade is quite narrow to manoeuvre your car in. Sound proof system from room to room is not great. You should pray for a good neighbour who don’t come back in the midnight. This so called hotel is a budget motel standard. You don’t expect too much. A short stay is fine.

Booked accessible room. They gave it to someone else. Asked for them to find another motel with accessible room. Decided to move out people on accessible room without talking to the, they were not happy when could not get into accessible room at 11.30 pm. Supposed to be services apartment, nothing happ. No fresh towels, no cleaning bathroom nothing. The whole unit needs to be cleaned from the mould on glass slide door to the crockery to the carpet. Goodness knows when carpet cleaned last. The main door to hallway not sealed so not soundproof. Awfully noisey. So disappointing. There is cheap and plain accommodation but this was dirty, cheap and nasty and

Great concept and the rooms are well done, some staff were ok but check in staff are shared between Adina and Interlude, they weren't helpful or knowledgeable. More than once when we asked questions, we were sent to someone else who then also may not have answers. Biggest disappointment was some things are very different to what's advertised. We were looking forward to enjoying time in the well-advertised Olivine Wine Bar, well too bad, despite it being advertised as a highlight and open 7 days a week (opening days have changed since we were there, not before) it wasn't open. Interlude had no food or drinks available for the evening we stayed. We had to leave Interlude and go to the fast-food outlets in the external complex. We could exit Interlude and access the fast-food outlets from an internal complex door but to re-enter Interlude we weren't able to use the same door. Apparently for security reasons, so we had to exit the complex and walk back via dimly lit foot paths. Clearly the security being considered when this decision was made was not the security of paying guests. The pool was advertised as exclusive to Interlude guests and 35 degrees, it was not exclusive, no private time as advertised and speaking with another person there he'd measured the water temp as 27 degrees. It was cold. Breakfast was very good, great service and good food. All in all, a great concept very poorly executed and very little concern for providing what is advertised to the paying guest.

Our stay here was amazing, the apartment was big and spacious even equipped with a dishwasher, washing machine and dryer. Overall the hotel is very new and clean, and right next to a small shopping mall with a grocery store, eateries and a cinema. It is rather far from melbourne city area but easy to get to with a cab.
