Environnement glauque. Hôtel trop aseptisé, rationalisé donnant l’impression d’être dans une clinique. Sans personnalité. Chambre spacieuse, grande télévision et bonne literie. Difficile de se maquiller en raison d’un miroir trop éloigné. Pas de sauna, petit déjeuner quelconque jus d’orange chimique, pas de fromage blanc, de bircher et œufs artificiels mal cuisinés. Bar intégré dans le restaurant et le petit déjeuner peu accueillant. Aurait mérité l’avis d’un spécialiste. Formalités d’accueil longues, personnel non formé. J’ai passé ma deuxième nuit au Mercure, retrouvant un environnement et un accueil chaleureux, un sauna, un bar de nuit au top et un petit déjeuner digne de ce nom. Il n’y a pas photo.

The hotel is comfortable. Well situated. With a parking. And the staff welcoming and smiling. We liked that. Out mixed feeling comes from the noise level. Not from outside. Not from other rooms, but from inside. The AC system is very noisy and we did not manage to master it. Our unit was pushing air at mac level all the time. Even if we would turn it off it would go back to full speed after 20 minutes. If we remove our door card, it would go to full speed immediately. At 2am we ended up removing the room fuses to cut all electricity in the room to sleep. I dont know if this is a defect or by design, but this was the first time I was faced with an AC systems with its own initiative :-). I would like to have control on the room AC and cut it if I need to. Here I had very little control even on the temperature setting.

Das Hotel befindet sich an zentraler Lage an einem sehr belebten Ort. Der Eingang befindet sich neben dem indischen Restaurant, welches ebenfalls zum Hotel gehört. Der Eingangsbereich wie auch die Rezeption sind sehr eng und klein, die Gäste können sich kaum kreuzen. Eine Vorauszahlung bei der Ankunft ist zwingend. Das Zimmer ist nicht besonders gross und einigermassen sauber. Alles ist alt, abgewetzt und scheint eine Generalsanierung nötig zu haben. Das Bad ist sehr klein, in der Dusche kann man sich kaum bewegen. Leider ist es auch sehr warm im Zimmer, obwohl ein Standventilator drinnen war. Schlafen ist beinahe unmöglich, da sich das Zimmer nicht richtig verdunkeln lässt. Fenster offen lassen in der Nacht geht gar nicht, da es auch bei geschlossenen Fenstern noch immer laut von draussen ist. Ebenso laut ist es von innen, da die Wände sehr dünn sind. Das Frühstück ist soweit ausreichend und in Ordnung. Frischer Kaffee wird an den Tisch gebracht. Der Preis ist nicht hoch, jedoch für das Gebotene immer noch zu viel. Für eine Nacht ist es aushaltbar.

If your not used to off brand hotels you will not enjoy this hotel. It lacks most all comforts a business traveler has come to enjoy . First off the room size is so small you have to go outside to change your mind. The showers are ridiculously appointed with the shower head in the center of the tub not at the ends. This makes no sense and as a taller person. It's not very comfortable. Got to Shave? Better do your hair first or you risk electrocution. The sink fill to the very top with water and will not drain for at least an hour. If you happen to use the hair dryer and it falls into full sink, look out... Need laundry service ? Better plan for a day trip to some magical laundry mat . This is a huge inconvenience personally . Oh speaking of laundry . Took 4 days of asking for an iron and ironing board. Really how is this not in every room. Hungry ? Forget about it. Other than a subpar breakfast buffet which is like ground hogs day that's all you get. They have a full service restaurant buy serve no food. Guess you can order some McDonald's for 35 CHF. That's for 1 meal. Want to relax and watch TV? Well your laptop probably has a bigger screen. As I travel to Biel 8 to 10 times a year I will not be staying here any longer. I may not even complete my current reservation. Very disappointed. So either I have super high expectations or all these other reviewers have very low standards. Cheers.
