Exquisite hotel - modern facilities, very spacious room & bathroom. Hotel is all marble throughout. Breakfast spread was excellent! Dinner was beyond adequate with variety of choices, drinks, & deserts. Nice grounds to walk around. Huge outdoor pool (too chilly to swim). My only comment is noisy hallways; you can hear your neighbors/thin walls. Wish we could have stayed another day; we stayed here as part of a group tour. Location of hotel is far from the Compostela - you will need a taxi ride.

Excellent hotel ! We’ve been to Santiago a few times and this is by far the best hotel we stayed in . Our room was at the back in an annexe with a large communal balcony outside our room door with tables and chairs . A very pleasant shady spot to sit overlooking the beautiful garden . Our room was spacious enough with very comfortable double bed , hardwood floor and shower over bath . There is a bar which was lovely to have a couple of drinks in the evening after a day’s sightseeing. We didn’t eat breakfast there but it looked lovely . Plenty of tables and chairs outside to enjoy the beautiful gardens and weather it’s an oasis of calm in a very busy city . Hotel staff are so friendly and helpful, the best I’ve ever encountered in Spain . We left an item behind in our room on check out which they swiftly and efficiently arranged to be sent on to us in Ireland . Location is fantastic right across the road from the Abastos market we had fabulous seafood lunch there . We cannot wait to return and stay here again !!!

Love this hotel as it is modern and clean but has all the things you need for a holiday. Great staff and a very good breakfast buffet. Hotel is large and clean. The rooms are fine and well priced and clean. Staff will sort you out with items you may need. Hotel has safes in each room and 24 hour porter. I like the gardens in summer. Staff are friendly and helpful. Good location for walking to city centre.

We stayed 3 nights in one of the ”atico” rooms on the 4th floor. The location of this hotel is excellent. The staff is very friendly. We had a nice time here overall. I'm not a fan of slanted ceilings and did bump my head a couple times. The hotel room was very clean and daily housekeeping did a nice job. It was very nice of them to provide daily bottled water. The room was pretty spacious but not all areas were useful due to the slanted ceiling. I would have liked to have an extra chair or bench in the room, in the slanted areas, and also bathroom, to place personal items. Just a suggestion for improvement that would be fairly easy for the hotel. I would stay here again if I'm ever in Santiago again.

Charming hotel and excellent location. This hotel is on one of the paths for Camino walkers to get to the Cathedral. It is 1-1/2 blocks to the Cathedral and central to all the major sites in Santiago. Breakfast was excellent and they even packed a to go breakfast box for us for our very early morning departure. The hotel staff was very friendly and accommodating. The area is free of cars except for locals. We had a driver take us from Porto to Santiago and we had difficulty getting to the hotel due to the restrictions .Other than that I would truly recommend this hotel.

Chose this hotel as its away from the centre and the noise. The hotel is a 4 star, and an international feel to it. There is a parking just outside. A nice swimming pool in the sun and a good spa. The room is very big and the beds humongous. Good size wardrobes, mini fridge, big bathroom with no amenities. It needs a refurbishment but we found it good value for money. Good breakfast buffet

Two night stay at the end of our Camino. Perfect location in the center of old Santiago, mere steps from the cathedral. Lots of history in this is a restored old monastery and it retains its feeling of the austere life of the monks. Beds are not the most comfortable and the rooms have little if any modern additions (no tv in ours for example) It’s a very large property and hallways feel more like a hospital than a hotel, but this adds to the experience. Breakfast was barely ok. You’re not allowed to bring food out of the cafeteria (?). We are out so we did not get a chance to try the dining room. Service was very good.

PPengguna TetamuThe staff ( Natalia) friendly knowledgeable of the area, good recommendations, friendly, gave us history of the building and speaks English. Our room was spacious, clean and comfortable . Coffee machine and fridge in the room was so nice for us. So close to the cathedral we could walk 20 steps and be there. They offer a nice breakfast, we did not take it because we like to explore. There is also a nice cafe bar right outside the door. I would love to stay here again!

I stayed at this hotel after finishing the pilgrimage walking of Portuguese Camino coast. Fortunately, I have a free coupon of ********* after 10 days of using it. The room is quite big but located in a strange place near to the breakfast room at the second floor of hotel. Anyway it is good compared to alberque or small hostels where I stayed during walking at Camino.

PPengguna TetamuNos costó comunicarnos para saber cuándo nos enviaban el código para entrar y eso nos dejó nerviosas porque llegábamos después de medianoche. Finalmente lo enviaron pero estaba errado. Por suerte hay un teléfono en la puerta y en un segundo lo resolvieron. Hay un parking a unas cuadras. Muy cerca del centro y la catedral. Hab muy cómoda, moderna, nos tocó la de discapacitados en PB No tiene aire acondicionado, solo calefacción, como fuimos en marzo no notamos la falta, tal vez en verano se sienta. No tomamos desayuno. Camas muy cómodas, buen wifi, sin pava pero tienen máquina de café de pago en el salón. Estuvimos sólo una noche, estuvo muy bien.

this was a backup choice for 10 of us on an Ebike Camino de Santiago tour. It was only a few minutes from the Cathedral. Very good location, super clean, modern, spacious, excellent breakfast, small modern bar downstairs which they opened for us after our dinner across the street. Quiet, solid rooms with typical Euro features, very clean.

Stayed in Room 508 for 3 nights The reception to the hotel is on the 4th floor, accessible via lifts. Check-in was professional, with the reception staff going through an established procedure including having to fill in a form and all the basic information guests need for their stay. The room has the layout of a small flat, with a mini hallway, a separate bathroom and a room equipped with a desk, chair, TV and bed. There’s no amenities like a kettle, tea, coffee etc. The room does have a window, although there’s nothing to see as it only opens out to an atrium. The desk and chair are good enough to work on. The bed had a medium-firm spring mattress, a thick cosy blanket and one of those long pillows the Spanish seem to be so fond of. I slept comfortably every night. The bathroom had a bathtub and shower. Although I only showered, the tub was certainly clean enough to take a bath if I’d wanted. The hotel supplied liquid soap and shampoo via dispensers. Location wise, the hotel is located about 5 minutes walk to Santiago de Compostela train station as well as the Santiago Train Station. It’s about 15 minutes, mainly an uphill walk towards the main sights of the city. The hotel does offer breakfast, but there are so many cafes around the area, there’s plenty of places to eat as well. There’s plenty of supermarkets around the hotel. Overall, Hostal México is a business-like budget hotel that is clean, comfortable and an excellent place to stay for several nights.

Yes - the hotel is one of smallest I ever seen. Yes, it's noisy. Yes, you can see some items dated. I have seen more expensive (much more) hotels with smaller rooms, more noisy and in worse condition. Yes. It has some limitations: there is no kitchen, no bar, no other amenities. Because of lack of the kitchen, breakfast is buffet only with no warm food. But everything is fresh i tasty. Don't expect any other meals though. Staff is friendly, nice and helpful. Location is excellent - close to public transport, close to old town, but not too close. Shops just outside and plenty of restaurants around. I would definitively use them again. Just one small thing: while wifi signal is decent, they should think of upgrading their internet connection, offered speeds would be sufficient in 2005, not in 2023. Had to switch to 4G to do anything.

PPengguna TetamuEstuvimos alojados en un apartamento en la planta superior el pasado mes de diciembre y ha sido una de las mejores experiencias que hemos tenido últimamente. Apartamento luminoso, reformado, espacioso y totalmente equipado. Zona muy tranquila e ideal, se encuentra en la zona universitaria, fácil acceso y para encontrar aparcamiento por las noches. Si tuviera que poner una pega, sería la presión del agua caliente es débil. Personal muy amable y profesional, también agradecer a Ana y su compañero de recepción el trato tan amable y servicial que nos ofrecieron y la posibilidad de dejarnos guardar las maletas en el hotel el día del check-out, viene genial ya que muy cerca hay una parada de bus que te lleva al aeropuerto directamente. Para terminar me gustaría comentar, este punto es totalmente ajeno a la dirección o gestión de los apartamentos, y es la poca empatía que tienen algunos huéspedes cuando vuelven a altas horas de la madrugada por el descanso y derecho a dormir de los demás, y espero con este comentario poder concienciar un poco a futuros clientes, ya que normalmente leemos los comentarios y a todos nos gusta disfrutar en nuestras vacaciones, tanto de día como de noche.
