We are so grateful to everyone at Tadrai for giving us such a special and idyllic holiday. We were lucky to spend 5 nights here and enjoyed every minute. We feel sorry for anyone who had a less than 5 star experience. Our experience was better than 5 stars. The bures are huge and have everything you could need. If you fall asleep with the doors wide open you get to wake up to the most spectacular sunrise and stunning view. You don’t need a sandy beach right at the resort because you can be taken to your own private one every day if you like. Or walk around the corner to a stunning sandy beach if you really need it. Not only that, but the reef out the front of the resort gave me my favourite ever snorkelling experience- the wonderful Freddie took me out as my guide for about 1.5 hours of pure bliss. Speaking of, as many others have mentioned, the staff make this resort so truly special. They work so hard and yet always have energy left over to make you feel so welcome and looked after. I hope the owners know how lucky they are to have such brilliant all-rounders on their team and give them the credit they are due. As a vegetarian, Charles, Sam and Moses went out of their way to make sure I had something I wanted to eat. The food they made was not only delicious but wholesome and healthy. Unlike other all inclusive places, we didn’t leave feeling sick from overly, unnecessarily rich food. We were so well looked after by the fabulous F&B team - thank you Asa, Kasi, Vika, Vani and all the others we didn’t get to meet. The day trips are so luxurious and personalised. A special thank you to Kasi for being our literal hero, and the wonderful Rocky, Api, Masi, Freddie, Tiko and anyone else we missed for the best activities we have ever had on holidays. Thank you to darling Lavenia for the warmest and sweetest welcome and for resolving any minor issues immediately. Thank you to Nancy and Nash for all they did behind the scenes. Thank you to the gorgeous Lela who went above and beyond to look after us and make our room so special. Thank you to awesome Frisco and polymath Sam for serenading us and bringing so much joy. Thank you to dear Carlos for taking such good care of us. And thank you to the countless others including Johnny, Lassaro, Magi, Izzy, (sorry if I got any names wrong!) and all the ones behind the scenes working so so hard so that we could switch off and have the time of our lives. Vinaka vaka-levu, you are all totoka sara xxx
Mana island is not so ideal location if you wanna head to Yasawa from Mamanuca. In order to get to Yasawa on the same day, you have to return back to port denarau with south sea cruise at a later timing. If early morning,it is possible to book a small boat through the resort or ratukini hostel nearby to beachcomber island. From there, the south sea cruise with pick you up then straight to yasawa.
The place probably need a bit of fixing, theres hole in our windows net which small rodent may enter. In our case, a small mouse hide underneath our closet in between the small gap.
It be great also, if they provide disposable toothbrush and toothpaste, also change of towels at least 2 days.
But that is just little stuffs. Overall, we really enjoy staying there.Literally every staff was very welcoming. Several things you can do like any good star resort. Recommend to travel to Monuriki island nearby.( aka Cast Away island, site location of Tom Hanks movie)
Just came back from Ratu Kini after spending there 4 days with my teenage daughter. We had the family cottage- two rooms with shower and toilet in each and a common area. The cottage was very basic but quite clean and perfect for our needs. Overall, Ratu Kini resort is integrated into a small village, the only one on the island, so plenty of dogs and kids running around. The food was ok, limited choice of menu every lunch and dinner. The prices- same as in NZ or Australia which was a shock to me (min wages in Fiji are 4$!) but it seems that all of Fiji is very expensive for tourists. The staff-very friendly and always smiling, real pleasure. The beach- we were there during the Survivor filming so most of the island was off limits. However, we still had about 3-400 meters of beach and could go around the island on a kayak or a paddle board, just couldn't land on the other beaches. The beach in front of the resort is not the cleanest- plenty of bottles, plastic and broken glass. The snorkeling and swimming was quite nice when the weather was calm. Really enjoyed the snorkeling trip to the Sandbar. Castaway Island was ok. Took Ratu Kini boat both ways. Paul the Captain is fun and a great guy. The boat broke down on the return trip, we had to catch the flight home that evening and also getting stuck in the middle of the sea was not really appealing but Paul managed to get it running finally. Bottom line- we enjoyed our stay but doubt I will be back to Fiji- everything is just way too expensive! SE Asia offers much better value for money.

Lots of reviews here already confirming what a magical place this is so I will just add a few tips and thoughts to try to help other travellers to enjoy their stays as much as possible:- WiFi (and VOIP phone) - if you have any business or other interests where ready access to wifi is important then please be advised that the hotel wifi is only available in the lounge/lobby area and is not that fast. However, 4g access with acceptable speeds is available throughout the resort (and certainly very good indeed from our later room #2 and still OK in our first room #19) but only with the Digicell network. When we arrived at the airport there was the choice of Vodafone, which I chose as I had used it on previous visits, and Digicell which my partner chose i) at lower cost and, ii) tons more GBs! Fitness Room? - This is not really a gym but is only a climbing frame and parallel bars out in the open with hot sun and high humidity. Better to get your daily exercise swimming in the lovely warm water (about 85f) or walking/running on the gorgeous, clean sandy beach. Garden Rooms - Choose only #5 thru #8 (not #9 thru #14) otherwise the 'garden' is very short and the balcony is straight out onto the main pathway. Castaway Island - The actual location for the Tom Hanks film and is just a short boat ride away. A must-do tour operated most days . Food - We both thought the food was excellent, varied and reasonably priced (not cheap - not SubWay prices of course!). Fuel Surcharge - I hope South Sea Cruises have stopped applying this by now - our operator refunded us this cost. The operator applied a compulsory 'surcharge' onto already pre-booked and paid for fares - incredible. Snorkelling - from the resort beach and from boat trips was fabulous. Enjoy! !
Our stay at the Sheraton on Tokoriki Island was lovely. Every member of staff is local Fijian living on nearby islands and are always happy and love playing with the kids, friends can be made everywhere. Big shoutout especially to John the fantastic bartender who made each person feel like his brother or sister and made fantastic drinks. There’s so much else to say so I’ll go over some things I would’ve been interested in knowing before my stay: -snorkeling trips and boat rides to Castaway island and other islands are available at somewhat reasonable prices -shampoo, body wash, and lotion are all provided with many medications, sunscreen, snacks, souvenirs and other necessities available in hotel shop open everyday -don’t forget an outlet adapter -ask about the daily activity schedule (activities every hour) and the walking trails to a beautiful hidden beach with amazing seashells and fruit trees -talk to the chefs, they will make you something off the menu or something that is special to them -getting up and out of the room early around sunrise was one of the best things we did -make sure to get the breakfast buffet added on, many options of food and makes the morning extra relaxing -tap water seems safe to drink now (older reviews say otherwise) and is served at meals but we were still glad we brought a few 1L bottles on the boat with us from Nadi -beach is empty most of the time as most people seemed to stay at the pool, renting equipment is variable based on sea swells and other weather conditions so take advantage when you can -food is pricey especially with some plates having very small amounts of food, if all inclusive there are many delicious things to try -if you are looking to relax by reading and swimming staying here for a week or more is east, if you’re looking for adventure stop here for a couple days then move to a different island Overall, each and every member of the staff wants you to have a memorable time. I hope this review has answered one of your questions!
You cannot go wrong choosing Tokoriki resort! I went with my best friend and although most of the people and stuff on the island is geared towards couples we had a great time. Still, there are some things you should consider so let me walk through all the details. Booking: Wonderful! If you have the chance, speak to someone in reservations directly. It was lovely to speak to someone real and start that relationship. I used Skype to call and it was so nice to have all my questions answered. I'd been here once before years ago for a wedding but as a guest I just kinda arrived. For this trip I wanted to plan it all out and knowing what all the options and events and such were was so helpful. If you want to avoid the 3% credit card booking fee you can do a bank transfer. You'll still pay your fees and their fees (why isn't this just baked into the price???) for the wire transfer but it's probably still less. You'll be asked for a deposit and then final payment so prep for two sets of fees. Getting there: Easy. You have three options helicopter, private speed boat, or South Seas ferry. If you plan with the helicopter or private speed boat you'll arrive super quickly and can start you vacay right away. If you're looking for the less expensive route you can book the noon (and only) ferry via South Seas. I booked it through their website and added on the bus transfer they offer. To return we snagged a cab back. Both were about the same price - bus or cab. Arrival: Needs improvement. You're tired, it's a lot of travel, and you arrive to chaos. All I wanted was a shower and my bed but instead I had to sit getting eaten by mosquitos while three different people passed us around to tell us what was going on. Hopefully they are working on this, but be prepared for chaos and let the Fiji way of slowing down and kinda not giving AF take hold of you. Activities: Needs improvement. There's a spa and dive shop that while part of the resort run their own books. Stuff fills up FAST which other reviews have mentioned. You can't pre-schedule anything which to me is really frustrating. When I arrive I want to just turn off my brain and vacay mode, but that first few hours we dashed over to the spa to book all our appointments (do this ASAP upon arrival no joke!), then hit the dive shop to make sure we had booked for snorkeling trips, village trip, etc. Also double check anything the resort may have scheduled you. Our package came with a Castaway Island lunch that was scheduled for the day we arrived (***?) and teppanyaki dinner that we also ended up asking to move. Also follow up on anything someone says they are doing for you because stuff gets forgotten or not communicated. Food: ASTOUNDING. My friend and I are picky beeches and we loved every meal. The curry and fish were are favorites but honestly everything was wonderful. She is gluten free and I have a bean/soy/peanut allergy. The chef came and spoke with us regarding our special needs and had no problems
Funky fish is the perfect place if you sre in Fiji for surfing, diving, or just relaxing, and you are on budget. The staff is simply awesome, so familiar, and you get to experience the local vibes, which are more difficult to experience if you are in a big resort. The pool area is perfect to relax and the meals are great.
The beachfront bures are simple but enough for sleeping and taking a shower. Beds are big and comfy.
Visited plantation island for the first time stating 3 nights in a garden bure. The welcome was wonderful with a shell necklace and welcoming drink while being serenaded, this it would turn out was one of the few highlights. We moved to our bure where the fridge was broken (this was known by staff as a towel was being used to prop up the door. To the credit of the resort they were quick to rectify that issue. We then set up our meal plan selecting half board $108 per day (big mistake, more on that to come) and we were informed we would need to book our dinners in to avoid missing out. We were able to secure a seating that night at 5:30 for Tivola, the lady on the phone asked that we turn up on time and eat fast as they actually had no space that night. When arriving the restaurant was closed and staff seemed annoyed at us for following their instructions. Food was passable given we knew island food would be on the lower scale of quality and freshness. The main eating area is where the breakfast buffet is Copra. I would rate this as the worst buffet I have ever experienced anywhere, extremely limited selections of food considering the size of resort and that it is $49 per adult. We also had the dinner buffet here, the bare minimum effort of food again served, apparently worth $59. Final night food was Black Coral where they have the best food on the island, unfortunately even though we had the earliest sitting the service was painstakingly slow with all tables raising hands constantly to get attention. They also had no chicken avaiable which was a challenge when eating with children. Enough about the food I guess but my tip, if travelling to plantation just avoid meal plans, you'll end up saving about $20-30 per day if avoiding buffets (which you should!) The pools - very underwhelming. There are 4 pools you can utilise, one is tiny but with a slide kids like, another next to that small again but with a nice deck around, the largest a kid friendly pool that unfortunately is very merky. The last pool is the nicest and likely newest but resembles somewhat of a lap pool. The beach... did not resemble any type of island paradise, unfortunately where they have set up the main water activities and inflatable play area is prone to tides so it basically closed for half of the day during low tide. Activities are free and we made use of snorkelling however they is nothing of interest in the main swim area, apparently further away from. The crowd has some good areas to explore however. Kids club - our kids were really excited to visit and this is free except for some activities, the session we took our girls to (ages 8 and 5) were jewellery making, quiz and tie dye tshirt making which they were super excited for. Upon collection I was met by two bored and disappointed kids, jeweller making was fun, the quiz was a non even as apparently there was no control over screaming kids and they ran out of tshirt sizes appropriate so did not get to partici
My family of 10 are staying at Musket cove in 3 separate villas. We are 6 nights in of our 7 night stay at Musket cove and I cannot in good conscience recommend it to anyone. Unfortunately this is not entirely their fault. For 5 nights the music playing from the nearby Plantation Island resort has been so loud the words can be clearly heard from our villas. The sound peaks at around 60db inside our villa and goes until at least 1030pm and is often accompanied by drunk screaming of the words. I spoke to the bar staff about the noise who then called someone about it, but it only seemed to make the music louder (or it just got louder on its own). I walked from one end of the resort to the other and there is no escape from the music... Apart from the ”Fiji belly” half of us have and the music, it has been an enjoyable stay. If you have your heart set on coming to Malolo Lailai, you may as well stay at Plantation Island and pay a fraction of the price to have the privilege of listening to their music or being earplugs and avoid any early morning fishing trips. This is our 4th trip to Fiji and by far the worst.
