We booked two nights at this hotel for a group of friends travelling on motorbikes. The hotel has secure garage parking for a fee. The hotel is also close to the castle. Unfortunately the above are the only good points about this hotel and our experience staying there. Our room, although large and spacious, was dirty and very dated. There were no curtains at the windows, only external shutters. So you had no privacy in your room as other guests and members of the public could see in. Eg, the bathroom had a window facing the road. I found on check-in that the lady at reception was very rude. This theme continued during our stay. I can never understand why people who work in hospitality are like this. We were overcharged for our room. I booked 5 rooms for our party and we paid €50 more than everyone else for the same room. When I tried to explain this to the lady at reception, she just looked at me and said 'i know, too bad'. Beware mosquitos whilst staying, we received lots of insect bites whilst in our rooms. The sofa bed was supposed to have been made up in two of the rooms, however it wasn't. We requested this from reception, however on our return from viewing the castle found that the sofa bed had been made up, but we had no top covers (quilt or sheets!). The breakfast spread was very poor. It was buffet style, but with very few choices and items to eat. On two mornings the coffee ran out and the staff never brought out any more, even when requested. On offer was bread products, pre-wrapped cheese, yogurt and cereal. However as with the coffee, only a certain amount was on offer and when it ran out there was not more. NOTE: reception is not open all of the time, so you have a code to access the building. This can be a problem for guests checking in/ out. We will not stay here again, and I would advise anyone planning to stay in Carcassonne to choose another hotel.

PPengguna TetamuThe location is scenic but our stay would have been memorable if only we experienced better hospitality. Here is the story: - I wanted to book a room for my wife and my 2 yrs old son on booking.com. In the website, I was asked who will be coming so I answered me, my wife and our son. Unfortunately, after 3 attempts (30 minutes), booking.com was bugging so I had to call directly. - When I called, I asked for a bedroom. I was a bit tired trying booking the room online and I didn't mention we would come with my son. I wasn't asked either by the female manager on the phone. The manager said she booked the room for us so everything was fine (I thought) - We then arrived at the place. It was nice like in the pictures, so I have nothing bad to say about it. - Soon, after we arrived, the female owner said that the place was not for kids (ok I understand that) and she said it was my fault I didn't tell them. So from that point, I already had this strange feeling that we were not the ”good customers” they are used to (basically a couple of old people without kids). I said nothing and acknowledged, hoping that we will not get any more comments like that if we are careful with our kid. - The next day, our son jumped for 10 minutes in the room at 2pm (not at night at all) and we were trying to calm him down. Note that our son does not behave like that at night, and he is rather a very easy child, as our nannies told us. Later, we got a comment from the female owner saying that our son should not jump at night since she was afraid to get bad reviews from the other people in the guest house. I told her it will not happen at night (and it didn't happen at night during the whole stay, moreover our son didn't jump again even during the day). At this time, I thought: Ok our son didn't do anything bad at night, and how about us? Only the other good people coming (as I said old people without kids) are important so their feedbacks are gold but regarding us, no, our stay is not important at all (who cares about parents who are trying their best to make the stay a wonderful moment and respectful???). At this time, I was already starting to feel uncomfortable honestly. But I politely complied. - The next day we went to the nice fresh market of Quillan to buy food for lunch. I bought some lasagna expecting that they will be ready to cook, as it is 99% of the time when you it at the fresh market. Unfortunately, after buying it, I figured out they were frozen and required to be cooked in the oven (it was in an aluminium container). So at this time, I thought that the owners would be annoyed that we ask kindly for their oven. Unfortunately, I was right... My wife asked to heat the lasagna in the oven. Then when she came back with the lasagna, I noticed it was not fully reheated. So I went to the male owner politely asking it to be reheated a bit more. Then he talked to me in a very harsh way (honestly, he made me feel like I was very stupid. He was saying that it should h

There’s a man at the concierge we spoke perfect English and was extremely friendly and helpful showing us around the hotel. There’s a cafe just next to the hotel selling lovely cakes and local produce , staff there was super helpful as well. You can watch the sunset at the hotel alfresco bar seating. One bad experience is we emailed the hotel multiple times to arrange for taxi to the hotel as we are arriving at the train station but there’s no response. We have to call them (expensive paid call as we do not have France line). It will be nice for them to offer transfer even if it’s paid

They were really thoughtful and we'll informed about the place. The accommodation is perfect. Spacious rooms which were spotlessly cleaned. We even got fresh towels halfway through our stay. Lovely atmosphere throughout the house with great details in the decorations. The location is great also. Located in the Leucate village it is a good place to start your trips, to go kiting, to go the local market or one of the many great restaurants down the main Street. Breakfast with fresh fruit, croissants, excellent coffee, juice, baked eggs and a surprise homemade item (which Flavia made) were excellent. Such a good way to start your day. It is such a pleasure waking up with the thought of a breakfast like this. I want to give 6 stars, but it is not possible. I would definitely recommend everyone to stay here!

PPengguna TetamuWe booked two nights at this hotel for a group of friends travelling on motorbikes. The hotel has secure garage parking for a fee. The hotel is also close to the castle. Unfortunately the above are the only good points about this hotel and our experience staying there. Our room, although large and spacious, was dirty and very dated. There were no curtains at the windows, only external shutters. So you had no privacy in your room as other guests and members of the public could see in. Eg, the bathroom had a window facing the road. I found on check-in that the lady at reception was very rude. This theme continued during our stay. I can never understand why people who work in hospitality are like this. We were overcharged for our room. I booked 5 rooms for our party and we paid €50 more than everyone else for the same room. When I tried to explain this to the lady at reception, she just looked at me and said 'i know, too bad'. Beware mosquitos whilst staying, we received lots of insect bites whilst in our rooms. The sofa bed was supposed to have been made up in two of the rooms, however it wasn't. We requested this from reception, however on our return from viewing the castle found that the sofa bed had been made up, but we had no top covers (quilt or sheets!). The breakfast spread was very poor. It was buffet style, but with very few choices and items to eat. On two mornings the coffee ran out and the staff never brought out any more, even when requested. On offer was bread products, pre-wrapped cheese, yogurt and cereal. However as with the coffee, only a certain amount was on offer and when it ran out there was not more. NOTE: reception is not open all of the time, so you have a code to access the building. This can be a problem for guests checking in/ out. We will not stay here again, and I would advise anyone planning to stay in Carcassonne to choose another hotel.

The staff we encountered were very friendly and hard working . The decor is a bit strange with black and orange corridors and the rooms were dark . The cost of breakfast was 16 euros each ….. and although the lady who served us was very friendly the choice was very limited . The price of the drinks in the rooftop bar were also excessive , you expect to pay more in the hotel bar but I found the prices a bit over the top . So for somewhere to sleep , shower and explore this hotel is great but I would definitely dine elsewhere

CCarol bGreat value for a short trip with the most friendly and helpful staff. Despite arriving far too early for check in, we were swiftly accommodated and able to start out exploring sooner than expected. Very clean and comfortable bed, the room was on the small side for two but not an issue for us, plenty of areas to sit and we were out most of the day exploring. The bed was large and very comfortable with good pillows. Blackout curtains meant we slept in longer than we would normally on a city break!!! Breakfast was excellent, buffet with sensible use of trays to clear your table after eating. Lots of choice and lovely bread and pastries. Hot food also if required. Coffee and juice from machine which I felt were better quality than to be expected, plenty of options for hot drinks. The evening meal was delicious on both evenings we tried it and was very welcome after a long day walking in the two cities. It was lovely to see families enjoying the small pool and an added extra for a city break. It is a long walk into the Cite but we really embraced this opportunity to see the local area. We felt safe walking and the locals in the area were friendly and able to advise on direction. The hotel provides maps to help you navigate. I confess we did indulge in a snack in the local Macdonald’s as just around the corner and the best I have used, clean and prompt service, excellent coffee!!! There are Lidl and Aldi around the corner from the hotel so no issues preparing a snack for a busy day out. Our only issue on the trip was transport from the airport. The shuttle bus is prompt but fills quickly and is only there for each flight. Can be a long walk to your hotel from the stops in the city. To get a taxi you must ask at the information desk to book one on arrival and this took considerable time. €23 a single trip. We found it impossible to pre book a taxi to meet us at the airport. On return we asked our hotel to book a taxi to the airport which we were anxious about arriving, the team at the hotel were great and checked in on its progress to assure us when it would arrive. Again €23 return trip. If you enjoy exploring a local area this hotel will suit, if you are unable to walk far maybe look nearer into the cite or in the City. There are plenty of options. For us this was a great stay and can recommend.

The breakfasts are buffet style, included are cereals, fruit, a variety of breads, ham, cheeses, bacon and egg. It filled us up for the day. Evening menu was limited but the food was very good. The pool was clean, and we had it to ourselves most evenings. As mentioned on previous reviews, its quite a walk into the Cite, and 20 euro's for a taxi, around 10 minutes if you have a car. However the location is handy for the autoroutes, if like us you want to explore the region. All the staff are very friendly and helpful. We would recommend Kyriad

DDom21076Clean room, comfortable bed, good bathroom. Kitchen particularly appreciated in times of COVID19 / curfew when all restaurant are closed past 6pm. This is the accommodation we were looking for... BUT... We arrived at Zenitude Carcassone past 5.00pm (before the 6.00pm COVID related curfew). The reception was closed and as far as I am aware, it is impossible to contact hotel staff past 5.00pm. We had received an email earlier in the afternoon with the different codes required to open a) the hotel gate, b) the hotel main door, c) the safe in which our key was hidden... All good so far. We checked ourselves in and reached our room, which was was pretty much as described on the Booking.com site with one BIG flaw though. Its window could NOT be open - which we found quite unacceptable in time of COVID19 given all COVID19 safety recommendations. With no one to call and curfew time approaching, we had no choice but ”hold our breath” and hope for the best for the next 7 days! We asked to change room on the second day and checked it out prior to confirming our stay. We tried to stay away from the staff considering the wearing of mask as an option. :-( Quite a disappointment given the current sanitary environment.

PPengguna TetamuOn a fait durant nos voyages BP de Campaniles différents, dans plusieurs régions de France, pour nous, c'est le meilleur : les chambres sont toutes les mêmes partout, mais là le service en salle est excellent, le petit déjeuner un vrai Continental avec œufs brouillés et saucisses ( ce n'est pas le cas partout), le personnel souriant et attentif malgré l'affluence, et nous étions avec notre cvien, on nous a mus dans un coin tranquille du restaurant et pas dehors sur la terrasse à tout vent comme dans d'autres Campanile, on paye 5e de plus pour notre chien,OK, mais là on ne nous accueille pas comme des intrus, tout était impeccable, bravo l'équipe !
