Sangat Baik
First of all, the cost to stay here was cheap so I understand that it was not going to be luxurious in any way. We stayed for 1 night as we were visiting Franche-Comte. The location is just outside Besançon in a residential area. Handy for the tram and a short drive into the town. The staff were friendly enough. Our room was on the bottom floor. The hallway and our room were uncomfortably hot and stuffy. There was no air con in the room and, as it was a hot day, it was an uncomfortable temperature and difficult to sleep. The room was very basic. It reminded me of student accommodation. The bed wasn’t very comfortable and we had a thin pillow each. Otherwise, the room was clean. I personally wouldn’t stay here again but if you were looking for a one night stop for a cheap price it would be fine.
A hotel with charme and character! The best hotel I had on my bycicle trip so far. And I've seen many hotels so far. The service people were very helpful. I enjoyed my stay very much and would come to Montbeliard again only for a stay in this hotel. The rest of the town: nothing to remark!
We stayed here for 2 nights in July. It was well signposted once near the town centre, which made it easy to find. There are a couple of issues to bear in mind about parking. First, the entrance is very narrow. My phone measure app measured the gap as 2.2m . I very carefully and slowly got my Tesla Model Y through. It felt like I was edging a supertanker through the Suez Canal. I used to have a model S and no way I would have attempted to get that through. One in the car park, there is a limited number of spaces. Three of them have Tesla chargers. If you book ahead, they will cone one off for you. By 10pm the car park was full and all bets are off at that point, Tesla space or not. I expect you would have to park outside in a public car park somewhere. The checkin was very simple. I had completed the online prebooking, which presumably helped. The reception and other, eg cleaning, staff were always polite and cheerful. The room was fairly basic, but the decor was well looked after and it was clean. We found the bed comfortable and with good pillows, including some extras in sealed bags. There was a small wardrobe and the ensuite included a toilet, sink and shower, all of which were pretty high quality items. The aircon worked wonderfully, which was essential, as it was around 40 degrees outside. It was also good to have two room keys as so many hotels think it is OK to give a couple just one room key. The flat screen TV was a decent size with a clear signal and a decent range of mainly french TV channels, with BBC world news and CNN as English language channels. The room has a telephone, but I didn’t use it. Free wifi was really good at about 70Mb download speed. The location is excellent on the edge of the old town centre. A short walk to the Musee Beaux Arts and not much further to the birthplace of Victor Hugo and many other key attractions and restaurants. I wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again if I came to Besançon. However, once my replacement model S arrives maybe later this year, this hotel won’t be an option because, although it has destination chargers, they are accessed through a narrow tunnel.
PPengguna TetamuThis property has everything one needs for a short stay. The interior is very cosy and homy. Room was well equipped and bathroom was brand new. Bed was very comfortable too. We've had a nice rest at night. Everything is very clean and well thought through. Breakfast was delivered to our room on time and in an organised manner. Pierre and Klervie at the reception were brilliant and went out of their way to help us with everything we needed. They have even helped to carry our bags to the room (we were moving and the car was full of bags that needed to be transported into the room). This was very sweet and kind of them. Furthermore, they were very polite and friendly. Excellent job. Excellent reception and first impression of the hotel. Management is lucky to have both of them. I've stayed in many hotels and this is not something normal to happen even in high-end properties. There is no restaurant in the hotel, but many nice places around. Easy to find something to eat. Highly recommend.
My wife and I recently stayed at the Auberge du Chateau de Joux. We previously dined at the excellent restaurant but this time we spent the night. The room was very comfortable, the breakfast was copious and well priced and, last but not least, we absolutely loved the hospitality of the staff. Coming from the California, we often expect a high level of service. We were not disappointed and loved the help and the warm reception we received from Gaëtan. Moreover, his english was excellent.
My wife and I stayed at this hotel from the 13th - 18th August 2022, In the evenings we would have two drinks before going to bed, the bar stays open until midnight, One of the nights there was no bartender as she left early, which left the night porter whom I'd never seen before, I approached him and ordered drinks to which he said the bar was closed, i politely reminded him of that the closing time was (midnight) so he got the drinks, albeit reluctantly, i paid him and said we would probably like another one, he said no we weren't getting any more, so as not to annoy him we only had 1 drink. On her way to our room as i finished my drink, my wife asked him for a glass of iced water as she had done every night, Suddenly I heard shouting so I look to see it's the porter shouting at my wife ”no you are getting no water” he screamed at her, trying to reason with him she said ”it's just a glass of water” but the porter aggressively persisted she would have no water, I told him he was a very rude person and that I was reporting him to the manager. The next morning we went to the manager with our complaint but to my surprise she wasn't one bit sympathetic towards us, she just said that she would have a word with him, she didn't even offer us an apology, When we came back the following night the same porter was on duty again but so was the bartender, we were having our drink when we overheard the porter saying to the bartender that he wasn't going to serve us anything, We are both in our mid sixties and in all our years of travel we've never felt so embarrassed or intimidated by a member of staff and over something as trivial as a glass of water! The incident completely soured our stay and really let the hotel down in how A) they let this happen and B) how they handled it. Truly appalling behaviour towards guests. Needless to say we will never be staying at this hotel or any hotel associated with it again...
PPengguna TetamuThe location is lovely. The parc is quite pleasant and walking to the center of town is easy. The hotel seems not to have been renovated since the 1980's. The woman at the front desk when we arrived was just lovely, very friendly. The room however was disappointing. Bathroom had not been well cleaned, dust on the tp holder, the shower curtain (yes, a thin white polyester shower curtain) was dirty at the edge. The carpet hadn't been changed in years. The room served its purpose for one night. Where the experience went even further downhill was dinner in the restaurant. We had a deluge that evening and my husband recommended we just eat at the hotel. I suspected this was not a good idea but ok. The food was dreadful; they had to re-heat his dish twice, the service was fine, they tried but could not make it work. Fortunately they had a very good bottle of wine that only slightly made up for the meal. So to summarize, best stay somewhere else in Besançon.
