Location and surrounding felt safe. As I was only staying for 1 night and had been invited to breakfast the following morning, elsewhere, I didn’t have the need to take up the offer of that facility. Maybe next time, as I was impressed with the hotel and their friendly staff, on the whole. The room was clean and the bed was extremely comfortable. I have no negative comments to make.

Very comfortable room clean and tidy. Great night sleep in a lovely comfortable bed.staff very friendly and helpful. Great location and parking at the door. With in walking distance of town centre and train station just down the street. Will certainly be back

I stayed here with two colleagues from Germany in September 2024. The rooms are fantastic and the welcome we received was lovely. Great location and very peaceful although only a few minutes walk from Bedford centre. Good food and drink as well with a selection of beers and wines and spirits. First class. Thank you.

Absolutely fantastic, i was a little dissapointed when I was placed in the coach house initially, but quickly changed to a wow, bed was so comfortable, decent pillows, a round top bath and shower, nothing at all I could fault. I opted for the bar menu and again wasn't disappointed, fresh ingredients superbly cooked and the taste was fabulous, I would definitely come back again, I'm not one for high scores but this place is a 10/10

My granddaughter had a fifth birthday party so I booked a stay for the night to save the sixty miles journey back to Essex . Maths came into this and holiday inn came top of the pile with breakfast thrown in so a no brainer . But as you can see by my ratings for cleanliness etc this hotel is way better than you would expect . The room we had was very nicely decorated and spotless. The bathroom was the same but there are tiny little details that might go unnoticed, like the bath towels are size xl and the shower is quality , the bed mattress is top quality . I could go on , but for my money I feel I got every penny . Breakfast was buffet style , so cereal , full English ,tea coffee juice , fruit , eat as much as you like . Microwave in reception , where else do you see that ? Reception toilets spotless. This is an eye opener for me as travelodge used to be my go to . But no more

We loved our stay here! It’s a very well designed hotel, with a special history and lots of unique touches throughout. Our room overlooked the river, and had all the usual things you expect from a nice hotel plus some excellent artworks. The only thing to note is that even though this is a spa hotel, the spa isn’t included in the hotel rate- we hadn’t realised that that needed to be booked separately. There were no issues fitting us in though!

All the Mercure staff were very helpful particularly Amelia in reception and Love who was behind the bar was very friendly and welcoming. The room was spacious, clean and tidy with all you need for a short break. The location is great to access the center of Bedford with the river right next to the Hotel allowed enjoyable walks down the river banks.

The Development Centre accommodation suites are somewhere between 3 and 4-star in terms of what they offer. The university is a long way from anywhere else in terms of towns and is situated in the Bedfordshire countryside, reasonably close to the M1. Cranfield village is not much to look at and it's a case of having to bring your own entertainment. Having said that, there is a gym and a small indoor swimming pool, free parking, quite good places to go walking just a ten minute drive away and plenty of places to 'network' if you are in a group, with large garden patios to sit out in, and a good-sized lounge and bar. Staff are friendly and helpful and there is an early check-in of 2:00pm. The rooms themselves are a little dated and surprisingly there are no USB points but the wi-fi is good. Our only complaints were the noisy air-conditioning units- effective, but more like industrial installations and the noise from the corridors. The rooms are designed like student rooms rather than hotel rooms and noise insulation is poor. Expect excitable and slightly tipsy conference attendees late evening/early morning and very early start delegates (who hadn't been socialising the night before) at ridiculously early times when most people wouldn't yet be up. The problem is not the guests, but the design and layout of the accommodation. Most of the academic and engineering types staying there are actually polite and considerate. It makes a great change from a regular mid-range hotel- lots of public space- and the pool and other facilities to use free of charge.

At least 3 times a year a group if us go for a quilting retreat. All the feedback is so positive. Great staff, friendly, welcoming, flexible. So clean and food- overfed and so much choice. Booked for 3 events in 2023 already and about to book for 2024. So glad we found this place.

I'll start with the good - there was plenty of parking and the bed was comfortable! As for the rest of the Willows, the building is old, the inside is tired, run down and in need of complete refurbishment - as a bare minimum, the whole place needs a really good clean. The rooms and bathrooms are basic and at best functional. The carpets in the corridors are rucked up and serious trip hazards; the fire doors have holes in them where handles have been changed (what sort of fire door is that?). You get the gist... They are understaffed - we had to wander around the building trying to find someone to serve us at the bar on our first night. On the second night, there were just 2 young and inexperienced staff behind the bar despite there being a function for over 100 people. The wait was ridiculous, the staff didn't know their red wines from their white, and the drinks were overpriced - £1.70 for a dash of blackcurrant, £6.50 for a pint of beer! As for security, it's a joke. On returning to our room one evening we found that the cleaner had opened the window and left it wide open all day - and I mean WIDE open. Bearing in mind the room was on the ground floor, anyone could have climbed in and helped themselves to our belongings. The whole experience is one I would not choose to repeat. I have just tried to fill in the customer experience questionnaire, which Wyboston Lakes emailed a link for - but guess what... the link doesn't work! That sums up Wyboston Lakes and the Willows.

PPengguna TetamuVery helpful friendly reception staff , we couldn’t get in the main restaurant so they called “The willows “ which was on the same site to make sure we could get food there and also watch the football which was what interested my son. Room was lovely, clean, comfy huge bed and lovely powerful shower in the bathroom. Breakfast in the morning was buffet, constantly topped up with fresh food. Lovely quiet setting would definitely come back but would make sure we arrived in time to use the pool.

PPengguna TetamuI stayed here with over a hundred colleagues as part of a national annual conference. It was convenient having a room in the same building as the conference rooms as I did not have far to go at the end of a long day. There are a number conference rooms of varying sizes which was useful for break out areas/ smaller meetings. The phone signal and general connectivity is terrible and really let the venue down. Our plenary sessions were disrupted by videos that could not be played, poor audio and trying to make a phone call was very difficult. This really needs to be sorted. My room was basic but not very clean. There was a long hair in the shower, sticky bathroom floor with some suspicious looking stains. I asked for this to be cleaned on my way to dinner, returned to find it was exactly the same. All our rooms were single occupancy but the single beds had not been put together to make a double for more comfort, unsure why and when I requested this, it still was not done. The ventilation is poor, the smoke alarm went off as I dried my hair with the blow dryer. Staff turned up promptly to investigate and I overheard them say it was likely a shower that had triggered the alarm which suggests a known problem. As a mother reviewer mentioned the shower pressure is non existent, it was like trying to have a shower with. cup of water. The food offerings were poor and I was pleased to return home to my own bed after two nights. Next time I might be better off staying at the nearby Premier inn where some colleagues stayed.
