Excellent standards are once more to the fore at his charming hotel. This is a favourite loction for me to stay and at times thes standards have fallen short. Thankfully the hotel has once more risen to the top of the tree with excellent staff, no issues with any of the rooms used and quality, fine food delivered to all. The service was excellent throughout each sector of the hotel. I was very impressed with the breakfast, especially the hot food which has been poor on temperature in the past. The quality of all the breakfast food was superb, particularly the sausages and eggs. Furthermore the food throughout the hot buffet was hot, not luke warm as in so many hotels; here the food was hot on collection and stayed hot throughout. The restautant meals were also very good, the portion size was just right and the mains were tasty and succulent; the deserts delicious.

Driving into the hotel, we were so looking forward to our stay and a lovely evening with family. From the point of arrival through to departure we were, on the whole, very disappointed. To give a balanced review, the good points and areas for improvement are summarised below. Good points: - Beautiful grounds and plenty of parking - Lovely outdoor space - Choice of bars and eating areas - Pleasant rooms, nice bathrooms - *Some* staff (bar and restaurant) tried incredibly hard to provide a good customer experience Areas for improvement: - Attitude of *some* staff poor verging on condescending - Problems reported, but no apology given despite choosing one of the more expensive rooms thus expecting it to fully reflect hotel’s star rating - Impossible to get food in the evening at a large, AA starred hotel that doesn’t have any nearby alternative eating options - Bar and restaurant understaffed, we felt sorry for the 2 staff who tried hard to make a bad situation as good as they could for several of the resident couples/families We felt, driving away from the hotel, that it rests on its laurels far too much and doesn’t live up to its star rating. There are far better alternatives that are friendlier, more customer focused, more welcoming and respectful of guests. These establishments provide a service far superior to that which we received at Stanton House hotel. Advice to Management - Stanton House needs to take a long hard look at itself and demonstrably show that it can meet customers basic expectations.

Me and Hubby had a great time at The Tawmy Owl. It started with dinner lovely home cooked Sunday Roast Then up to our room which we booked. Spacious, emaculat and really comfortable. Then back down for the Open Mike Night. Really great fun, lovely people, and lots of drinks to try. In the morning down for breakfast. Just what the Dr ordered. Thanks Laura for a great stay. Great meal, reasonable price, good service. Arrvied on a whim. Most tables were reserved but 'squeezed' us in. Order was taken quickly. Menu had a good selection. Was a delay getting the food but it was worth the wait. Had the sizzlers and enjoyed every bite. Decent price. Overall a good experience and will be coming back to sample the specials.

Warm welcome, lovely room, deliciously comfortable bed. The Highworth is a gem. I was greeted by Katie who, from start to finish, was so accommodating and helpful. My room was huge, with tasteful decor, immaculately clean, large bath with excellent water pressure, great lighting, and a nice view of Highworth high street. Locally, there’s a good choice of places to eat, shops, a pretty town centre, local golf course, and you’re on the edge of the Cotswolds. Breakfast in the orangerie was delicious, the chef made it to order for 8am on the dot because we needed to get away for work. The young lady who serves us and check us out was warm and chatty. A special thank you to Katie, for being so kind, genuine and just lovely! Highly recommended

This was my/our third stay at the White Hart and that alone tells you that it is such a fabulous Hotel. too many accolades to write but everything was above and beyond expectations. The rooms were much bigger than expected and beautifully appointed. Easily on par with the Premier Inn chain but a little bit more special in every way. The Hotel has style, class and character, which is sadly lacking in the larger chains. The staff are simply wonderful and you can have a good chat with them, regardless of the time of day or how busy they are. The restaurant has an eclectic menu but everything is freshly cooked, so you really do get the best meals. The restaurant isn't a bland space, you do feel as though you are in a much classier restaurant and it is always busy. Free parking and quick access to the major routes makes the location ideal for all clientele. We will most definitely be returning for multiple stays and will be looking forward to it. We are having our bathroom renovated and as we live in Highworth, wanted somewhere close to home. For what we paid we didn’t expect perfection. We were greeted with a smile and shown up to our room.On entering the room we could see it was ‘tired’; in need of a good refurb. Saying this, it was spotlessly clean, the bed was comfortable and we had a peaceful nights sleep. The bonus was having our own en suite facilities. The shower was powerful ( power shower) and nice and hot. Gorgeous smelling toiletries were provided. I would definitely stay here again if I needed to and would recommend this hotel. We didn’t eat here so cannot comment on food.

We chose this hotel for a couple of reasons. Firstly it said it had a car park. Then two days before our stay, they emailed to say their car park was limited and we might have to park elsewhere. Limited is being nice - it has 8 car park spaces for the whole hotel. So it is highly likely you'll need to stay at the car park across the road with no gates and no security. We were supposed to get a discount as we were staying at the hotel but were told the discount wasn't working. Then the lifts weren't working so we had to carry out cases to the top floor! Having lugged our luggage up 15 flights of stairs (which were not nice and had rubbish in the stairwell), we found they had put us in a double and not a twin. My husband is 6ft 4 so we always book twin beds as we can't fit in a double...and this was a small double. They do not have a phone to ring reception so I had to go back down 15 flights of stairs to talk to reception. Even though they made the mistake, they acted like we were a real inconvenience but they did move us...to the twin room next door, which meant another 15 flight of stairs for me. Breakfast the next morning was crazy and they had run out of most things. They did bring out more but we had to wait about 20 minutes to even get cutlery. We were really unimpressed with the hotel. The staff weren't friendly or helpful, there were hardly any amenities and having to deal with the dirt and rubbish in the stairwell, the hotel did not feel clean. I would rather pay a little extra and stay somewhere much better.

FREEZING COLD. Window don't shut. And they haven't even put a extra heater in the room to help. The window has clearly been like that for a while. SORT IT OUT. Thanks..I had an awful night sleep and feel I want my money back tbh..
