I have would have given our 1 night stay here a 4* review because the staff were lovely and our evening meal and breakfast were delicious. BUT the bedroom and restaurant were freezing (the lovely waitress said she thought ”they'd turned off the heating”) such that my wife had her dinner with a hot water bottle in her lap, the envy of other diners who had to keep their coats on whilst they ate! The thermostat in the bedroom could not be set at above 17.5 degrees. In addition, we had booked the room Mowbray because it had a lovely stand alone bath in it - BUT THE WATER WASNT EVEN TEPID! so no pleasure to be had there. The impression we got was of a place where the staff were trying to do their best and were charming throughout, but the business might be struggling to pay the increased energy costs that we all face nowadays. I would rather have paid more and had proper hot water and a warm restaurant!

Breakfast should have been served until 10 am. We got into the restaurant 9.15 and there was hardly anything left, One spoonful of scrambled egg which I had to gather from around the pan for my husband - none for me, no bacon, no sausage, no hash brown or tomato. They did have beans!! Having asked and waited, we got a bit of bacon and some sausages that were so hard we could hardly cut them!! Then , at 10am they asked us to leave the room because they had to get it ready for something else. Our bedroom was ok but there was a skylight in the roof and the sun came flooding in just after 4 am so I didn’t sleep. Waste of time having black out curtains at the window when you don’t cover the skylight. The teaspoons on the dressing table had not been washed. The shower was nice but the water came out all over the floor - our friends had the same in their room. All in all not a good experience and I wouldn’t stay there again. I did mention all of this to the reception guy but he just smiled at me. Not sure if he spoke English!

Pub Review – The Swan – Staines On Thames. Berkshire I aimed to book into the Swan as it is as much hotel as bar, but sadly it was fully booked so I ended up the dreadful Boleyn’s across the road. I did pop over to The Swan for my evening meal and ale, which were terrific. Though crowded, with a pending wedding and many staying there for Ascot week at the races nearby, the service standard was excellent, with a lovely conservatory dining area leading out to a riverside terrace. The food was nicely presented and I had a lovely relaxed unhurried experience before my return to the less than impressive accommodation I had. The Swan has a great range of real ales too.

Stayed here for a business trip. Firstly my room was lovely and spacious! huge bed, balcony looking over the Thames and a great breakfast with so much choice. Staff were lovely and welcoming and had no issues parking. Really clean and a lovely bar area. Would stay again

One or the best hotels in the worlds. No doubt! Services and facilities are simply impeccable. After staying here I don’t ever want to go back to the hotels in London.

It’s such a stunning and peaceful place for good break with family. The room is decent decorated and clean. All staffs serve us sincerely and feel warm to stay . free parking here once you stay in hotel. We have enjoyed a very nice dinner in Italians restaurant and comfy bar next to it . I would recommend to come again next time once driving to Windsor .

My family and I recently stayed at the Wheatsheaf Hotel in Virginia Water for two nights while attending a nearby family wedding. The hotel is modern, spotless, and incredibly comfortable. The staff are exceptionally friendly and welcoming, with a special mention to the housekeeping team and the hotel manager, Anna. I needed help curling my hair, and Anna graciously came to my rescue—going above and beyond! The level of care and attention from the team made our stay extra special. I would highly recommend the Wheatsheaf Hotel for anyone visiting the area. It's very reasonably priced, especially considering the high standard of accommodation. We will definitely be staying again!

Booked 2 rooms for 2 nights at London Heathrow Guesthouse in Slough. The room was absolutely disgusting. Arrived late with 2 children so decided to stay rather than look for an alternative at that time of night. Slept on a towel I’d brought rather than the horrible bedsheets. My daughter slept on my coat. Couldn’t use the shower as I would have been dirtier when I got out than when I got in. The other room my friend stayed in was even worse. Didn’t return the following evening & eventually managed to book alternative accommodation that was clean. Tried to get a refund for the unused night. Hotels simply not interested & now not responding. Told them I wouldn’t be returning that night because of the state of the room. Refused a refund due to the “terms & conditions”. Room was cancelled before I left & cancelled because of dirty & damp conditions. Hotel claiming it wasn’t cancelled. Avoid at all costs.
