Hotel terbaik di Mablethorpe

Where shall I start. We were spending the day at Huttoft beach on Sunday and thought instead of being the tent we would treat ourselves to a night in a hotel for a change and this one seemed to be ideal as it accepted dogs. However. The website is by no means accurate. They don’t do food. But you can order from a takeaway and eat in the bar. That’s not what it says on the website. Yes, the room is clean, but that’s it. We saw one member of staff although she was very pleasant that was it! £76! I’d rather have bought my tent. The revamped garden is a square slabbed area with plastic hanging baskets with plastic plants. Nothing enticing. Then look out for pub Chuck out time. Shouting screaming fights smashing glass (a shop window). Will be requesting a refund.

The staff were friendly and the actual hotel was quite elegant. The grounds were amazing, and there were plenty of lovely places for photos with colourful flowers. We ate dinner in the hotel and the presentation of the food and the quality was excellent. The steak was cooked to perfection. The mushroom risotto wasn't quite as good as it had some crunchy bits of rice in it. It needed about 10 minutes longer on a slow heat, and then it would have been perfect; as it wasn't that hot either. This hotel boasts that it has a spa, swimming pool, and lots of different spa room experiences. Normally, when you use the leisure facilities connected to the hotel that you're staying in, they provide towels free of charge. Not this one. We walked over with our swimwear and room key card to be told that towels were £1 each. We explained that we didn't bring a wallet, money, or a phone to pay with. We asked if they could charge it to our room. They couldn't!! They said that you can use the one in your hotel room or walk back to the hotel reception and they'd give us them. Not helpful at all. Then, we went in to find the two foot spa's didn't work, and when I said it to the leisure centre manager, his reply was ' I know as I reported them last week'. But not a sign on them to say that they weren't working! Overall, the hotel needed a bit of a spruce up; but they made up for it with friendly staff. We paid to play a 9 hole game of golf and the staff in the golf shop was amazing.

The welcome, the ambiance, the character of the building and the excellent food all remind me why somewhere like this is so much more preferable than the likes of a Premier Inn. The building is tired, but full of history, having itself been built from the ruins of an old Priory. The furniture is old and a little worn - a faded glory feel - which I love and is exactly the philosophy this planet now needs - keep repairing and using not replacing - the friendliness of the staff and the excellent kitchen all speak to a five start review. Something I very rarely give.
