Great central location, the town centre outside the entrance and the Barbican a few minutes away via the nearby lanes. The studio is clean, minimalist, compact but not claustrophobic, although would probably be more appropriate for a young couple or busy visitor. Innovative use of limited space, but fitted with cooker, microwave and fridge if you want to live independently (although there is a vast array of restaurants, cafés, bars and takeaways on your doorstep). The reception is manned until 10pm. Late arrivals contact the duty manager who will advise them of the key safe combination at the entrance. My reservation was via a booking agent, but the duty manager maintained I was required to pay a security deposit, which was not included in the booking confirmation; if it was on the website (as he insisted) it was not prominently advertised. I challenged this, so I would advise guests to double check the check-in process prior to arrival. Despite this setback, my short stay here was pleasant. The location is a significant bonus, and the quirky nature of the decor and included amenities made an encouraging change to the larger chain hotels close by. Would gladly return again for a non-business stay.

From arrival to departure, was a pleasure t o be there. The whole place, from communal area to bedrooms was decorated to a very high standard. Everywhere was spotless and the whole building smelled clean and fresh. My friend and I were made to feel very welcome on arrival. The room was well equipped and the beds were really comfy. Breakfast was plentiful and the 'Full English' was cooked to perfection!! I have already recommended to friends and if ever I need to stay in Plymouth again, I will be sure to return to Cassandra Guest House. Excellent all round. All the best and thank you - Michelle

We had a wonderful one night stay at Boringdon. This is clearly a hotel that cares about their customer's experiences. We encountered an issue resulting from an error with the spa and timings and Mike the Operations Director went to great lengths to resolve the issue, not just making it right but going above and beyond. That sort of treatment is very rare and shows what a special place Boringdon is. Thank you Mike for taking the time and effort to make sure our stay turned out as it did. The Acleaf restaraunt was phenomenal - melt in the mouth wagyu and food that looks like artwork, every single item (from the many courses) were divine. The playful and creative touches (such as the game resulting in a surprise course for each diner) were fantastic. An unforgettable experience. Scott the head chef is well deserving of the restaurant's Michelin star - it really shows how passion and focus pay off and we were bowled away by the experience. Thank you Scott and team. We can't wait to come back!

What a great hotel - perfectly positioned for the theatre, restaurants and visiting the city/shops. Handily it also has free parking, first come first served. Our bedroom (we were upgraded on arrival) was very spacious and clean. It was especially nice to have armchairs in the room to make it more comfortable to sit and read without the need to perch on the bed or sit on the dressing table chair. The hotel provides a great choice at breakfast - fruit juice, yogurts, fruit, cereal, croissants etc as well as a great choice of hot options. More importantly to the enjoyment of our stay was that all the staff made us feel really welcome and did everything with genuine smiles. We loved it and will definitely stay here when we visit Plymouth again.
