Lovely hotel, good location . Food was good and varied. Only downside was the annoyingly consistent pool music. Monotonous 'dance' music which was not appropriate for the large majority of the age demographic staying there at the time. It would have been ok if they had mixed it up with a few other genres but it was the same e v e r y day. It was heaven when they had 'quiet 'time at about 3pm for an hour .

We spent two wonderful weeks at ”Grecotel The Plaza Beach House” from mid to late October. An absolute highlight of the hotel is definitely the staff. From the Front Office Manager to Housekeeping, everyone was always friendly, multilingual, and constantly striving to fulfill our wishes. The breakfast buffet was plentiful and offered local dishes, making the start to the day a delight. Although we often dined at local restaurants in town in the evenings, the options at the hotel were always tempting. The apartment we stayed in (Apartment 17) was clean and well-maintained. However, it should be mentioned that the construction here reflects the Southern European charm and not German precision – for us, that was just right. A special feature of this hotel is its proximity to the beach. Even though one has to cross a road to get to the beach, we found the local traffic to be very respectful and accommodating. This point was viewed critically in some reviews, as it is not explicitly mentioned in the hotel brochures. For us, however, this was not an issue. In summary, ”Grecotel The Plaza Beach House” was exactly the place for the relaxing beach vacation we were looking for. Wir verbrachten zwei wundervolle Wochen im „Grecotel The Plaza Beach House“ von Mitte bis Ende Oktober. Eines der ersten Dinge, die uns auffielen, war die Nähe zum Strand – auch wenn man eine Straße überqueren muss, um dorthin zu gelangen. Ich hatte in einigen Bewertungen gelesen, dass dies von Gästen kritisiert wurde, da es in den Hotelprospekten und Bildern nicht ersichtlich ist. Wir hingegen fanden die griechischen Verkehrsteilnehmer überaus höflich; sie ließen uns stets über die Straße gehen und passten gut auf. Ein weiteres Highlight des Hotels ist definitiv das Personal. Von der Front Office Managerin bis zum Housekeeping war jeder immer freundlich, mehrsprachig und immer bemüht, unsere Wünsche zu erfüllen. Das Frühstücksbuffet war reichhaltig und bot landestypische Speisen, weshalb es uns jeden Morgen eine Freude war. Abends haben wir die lokale Küche in verschiedenen Restaurants der Stadt genossen, daher können wir zum Abendbuffet im Hotel nichts sagen. Das Apartment, in dem wir untergebracht waren (Apartment 17), war sauber und ordentlich. Natürlich sollte man beachten, dass die Bauweise und Bauausführung hier eine südeuropäische Leichtigkeit ausstrahlt und nicht die deutsche Präzision wiedergibt – für uns war das aber kein Problem. Zusammenfassend war unser Aufenthalt im „Grecotel The Plaza Beach House“ genau der Bade- und Strandurlaub, den wir uns vorgestellt hatten und den wir auch dringend benötigten. Wir können dieses Hotel ohne Vorbehalte weiterempfehlen und planen bereits unseren nächsten Aufenthalt auf Kreta. Ein großes Dankeschön an das gesamte Hotelteam für diesen unvergesslichen Urlaub!

AMAZING!!! This hotel is 10/10 for couples to stay!!! Very close to the city centre (10 min walk) and all the bars and restaurants but far out enough to have some peace and quiet. We arrived from the airport at around 11pm and they left sandwiches and crisps in our room (very nice gesture). The time from chania airport is 2.15 hours on a shared transfer. (Splash the cash and pay for a private one lol) The room we had was very spacious and ideal for our 4 night stay. The house keeping cleaned every day and gave us fresh towels and made our bed. comfy bed and pillows and we loved our little balcony for drinks before we headed out for dinner. We hired quad bikes for $80 for 24 hours which was really good! We saw a lot of the area on this and even managed to take it to Baja Beach club! (would recommend) We also hired a car for $45 for the day and visited Bali Beach where we found a nice beach club called Baboo beach! Would definitely recommend this place :) On the last night of our stay my Fiancee proposed to me on the rooftop of the hotel with the background of the city in the view. He arranged this all with the reception and they closed off the rooftop and bar for us for the hour. This was definitely amazing and we want to thank the hotel for being so cooperative! When booking back in June this hotel stood out amongst all the others, if you’re looking for a quirky boutique hotel where you will be treated like royalty by all staff. Breakfast was superb and can be eaten either inside or the delightful courtyard,every day you would have a different selection of cheeses ,veggies fruit and also a small collection of hot food all was fresh and you could eat as much or as little as you wanted alongside hot drinks and juices. The room was clean and the air con worked well and was a god send as the weather outside was well in its 30’s. If you’re looking for a small hotel where you’re not treated as a number then this perfectly located hotel would be hard to beat and I wouldn’t hesitate to highly recommend it.
