We were initially a little sceptical that the location may not have been suitable for a recent function in we had in Galway city but the hospitality and amienties certainly made up for the slight distance from city. Very warm, cozy and comfortable. Family rooms are very large and spacious, the double beds are very slightly on the smaller side than we are used to but that didn’t hold it back. Evening meal in the hotel bar had plenty choice, delicious and great service. Breakfast once again did not disappoint, fantastic choice whether having a hot or cold buffet. The chef ( I think his name was Mike) was continuously keeping the buffet topped up and rotated freshly with cooked choices. No sign of anything showing signs of reheating or shrivelling up. Left us with a very positive feeling before we checked out. Access to the pool also was a great amenity to have the use of. Will definitely be back again after our recent stay. Well done.

Stayed here last night & was very happy only booked one night. Room 309, small & dark room overlooking concrete rubble....needless to say we did not spend long in the room. Bathroom not done up since hotel built I would say - have to climb in to bath for a shower, so we decided not to !. Definitely not worth €240...... or €100 for that matter. Must be the last room in the hotel & in my view disgraceful to charge that price for such room. Had to leave window open due to heat in room & could hear outside noise most of the night. Food only ok - way overcooked burger. We were very sorry we did not go back to the Porterhouse in Village - had lunch there & food & service was 10/10. No atmosphere at all in this hotel & appears like no Management as all too relaxed. Did see Manager once when they forgot to bring sauce for starter ! Bar staff (Briain) excellent & lovely receptionist from Portugal. I did speak to Manager this morning to relay my views & all he had to say was - ”OK, thank you” Sums up the experience !!

Spent a few nights here with friends recently. Check in was smooth with a very friendly Aoife . Room was a good size , very comfortable beds and a spotless bathroom with bath and rain shower . The bar food was tasty and reasonably priced , the service was fast and efficient and we did not feel in any way rushed . The staff were friendly and smiling . Plenty of choice for breakfast . We will be back !

Welcoming service at check in, a beautiful hotel just from the lobby and into our lovely room, both spacious and modern. With lovely comfortable beds and very soft pillows. Great shower no problem with hot water as well as plenty of clean, fluffy towels. We also ordered a fridge which was very handy with the warm weather. Very good WIFI .My only problem with the room was I would prefer lockers instead of drawer-less tables and instead of open cabinet . Not great storage without drawers, as the only one was in the bathroom. The food is this hotel is the best food we have had in all our hotel breaks in Galway. The choice for breakfast is very good but their dinner menu is great and there is great choice for everyone no matter what your food choice might be, with vegetarian and vegan options also. The staff through out the whole hotel are lovely and very helpful, especially Chinma who was so helpful during our meals in the evening. The standard of how clean this hotel is the best I have seen in all my stays in Galway, thank you for a lovely stay as we will be back.

We had a lovely stay in The Connought Hotel. The room was very spacious, the bed was very comfortable. The hotels amenities were plentiful, very easy to get taxis, breakfast was delicious. Will definitely return.

Booked this hotel s part of my road trip around Ireland. Initially I was very, very impressed. Foyer, reception were absolutely immaculate and well decorated and the staff were really, really helpful, polite and friendly. Cannot fault the staff here. Went to the bar for a drink before check in - again, staff were lovely and attentive. Went up to room (was told I had an upgrade). Hmm. The room I was in is starting to like a little bit tired now. About 10 years ago it probably would have been stunning but it is starting to look it's age a little bit. Don't get me wrong, very clean and spacious but is just lacking that wow factor that you get driving up to the hotel and in reception. Good facilities in the room - plenty of teas, coffees, toiletries, free drinking water, several clean, fluffy towels, iron, dressing gown, slippers - all the usual that you would expect! No problems here either. Free parking at the back and relatively close to town centre - takes about 15-20 min walk with some lovely scenery along the way. Was going to use the spa but was busy with other things - it looked lovely from the outside though. I guess it's just the room didn't meet the initial wow factor I had when arriving. Probably time to tart it up a bit but no doubt there are other, more expensive rooms that may be a little more luxurious and updated. I paid around £160 for mine. Smallish gripes, but just failed to deliver what it gives you on first impression / website.

Our stay here was at the end of the trip and our second time in Galway. It’s an excellent location - just a 5 min or so walk from Eyre Square and a good place to stay if you’re going on one of the ferries. The room size was as expected and comfortable for 2 people. The breakfast is cooked to order and done very well. If you need a bus, it’s on a main line for one that goes to Eyre Square/Salthill. Above all, the atmosphere is welcoming. Will definitely stay there on future trips.
