Very enjoyable stay! The host was very accomodating and the hostel was perfectly located in the small town. There was free laundry available and a coffeemachine which was also included. The room was spacious and had its own bathroom. Everything (kitchen, room, bathroom) was clean and friendly. Would definitly recommend.

The building is made of paper. You can hear everything from the rooms on either side and above. The noise level feels like people are literally in the room with you. I could hear the people in other rooms talking clearly - fully audible conversations at regular volume. I could hear the other rooms using the bathroom - every last drop. The bathroom was exceptionally audible. The ventilation system is the main culprit of noise issues. Nothing is private through that ventilation system - absolutely nothing. We got no sleep at all over the course of two nights. I'm not sure what's happening with the staff. You can't call yourself a hotel and then only open the ”reception” between 15:00 - 21:00. That's not a reception. That's just someone sitting and checking people in for a few hours. We arrived at 14:50 and the door was locked. I knocked, he saw me and turned his back and ignored me. At 15:00 he came to unlock the door and saw that we were sitting outside waiting. He then said, ”hi - are you waiting for something”? He saw me at the door. He knows exactly what I was there for. We later went over to ask for an extra towel and he said he couldn't bring it to us because he was the only one there. Again - not a hotel if the one and only staff member can't leave his post to get a towel! People were smoking outside our unit, partying in the space in front of our room until 02:00 - but there wasn't anyone we could call to complain to. There are no phones in the rooms. How this company owns 4 hotel buildings in this small town and is still standing, is beyond me. How it has the rating it has on these sites is again - completely beyond me. I would never recommend any of their buildings to anyone and would never stay here again if I came back to the area.

Anfahrt: Von der Ringstraße her kommend fährt man bei Egilsstaðir nach Osten ab und folgt der Straße Nummer 93 (Seyðisfjarðarvegur) ca. 30 km weit. Es geht eine schöne Passstraße entlang. Weit geschwungene Serpentinen winden sich nach oben - und auf der anderen Seite wieder nach unten. Es gibt viele schöne Aussichten entlang der Strecke. Einige Kilometer vor Seyðisfjörður kann man von oben bereits weit in den Fjord hineinschauen. Die Straße ist gut ausgebaut - kein Vergleich zu den Straßen in die Nachbarfjorde. (Die Straße 953 in den Mjóifjörður oder die Straße Nummer 94 nach Hafnarhólmi habe ich teilweise als ”Höllenritt” empfunden, da es sich hier um steile, nur geschotterte Wege bzw. eine Dauer-Baustelle handelt.) Dennoch ist die Fahrt über den Pass und hinunter zum Fjord eine ziemliche ”Gondelei”. Muss man mögen, oder nicht. Im Sommer ließ sich das gut fahren. Aber im Winter stelle ich mir die Strecke dann doch etwas abenteuerlich vor. In Seyðisfjörður sind die Lónsleira Apartments dann leicht zu finden. Einfach rechts ab, den Austurvegur entlang. Am Ende des Sees erkennt man die Apartments bereits anhand der charakteristischen gelben und blauen Farbe. Das Auto kann man direkt vor dem Eingang zu den Apartments abstellen. **************** Ein-/ Auschecken: Wir kamen an einem Sonntagabend an, und ich muss sagen, dass ich mir erst etwas verloren vorkam. Bislang hatten wir an unseren Unterkünften vorab entweder die Nummer des Schlüsselsafes per Mail bekommen oder eine Telefonnummer, an die wir uns bei der Ankunft wenden sollten. Oder es gab eine Art Rezeption, wo wir den Schlüssel abholen konnten. Hier hatten wir keine Information, wie wir an den Schlüssel kommen und waren etwas ratlos. Ich habe dann glücklicherweise die ”Nachbarn” vor dem Haus angetroffen und nachgefragt, wie das Einchecken denn abläuft. Sie haben mich auf eine Telefonnummer hingewiesen, die ich anrief und dann die PIN des Schlüsseltresors durchgesagt bekam. Auch das Auschecken empfand ich etwas merkwürdig, denn auch hier gab es keine Vorgaben. In zahlreichen Rezensionen hatte ich gelesen, dass der Vermieter im Laufe des Aufenthalts vorbeigekommen sei. Okay, das hätte ich gar nicht gebraucht. Aber da die Buchung zwar über booking.com erfolgt war, die Zahlung aber vor Ort hätte vorgenommen werden sollen, fand ich es schon etwas irritierend, dass bei uns so gar keine Kontaktaufnahme erfolgte. Letztendlich legten wir den Schlüssel bei der Abreise eben einfach zurück in den Safe. Die Übernachtungskosten wurden von der Kreditkarte abgebucht - obwohl die Kreditkartenangaben bei der Buchung eigentlich nur zur Sicherheit hatten hinterlegt werden sollen. Na, egal. War ja nicht weiter schlimm. Vielleicht ist da etwas schiefgelaufen - aber ich fand diese Art nicht optimal. Da wäre mir eine Mail mit der Safe-Nummer oder konkreten Informationen lieber gewesen. **************** Lage, Umgebung und Einkaufsmöglichkeiten: Die Apartments

I had an impromptu stay in Seyðisfjörður after the first snow of the season had made Route 93 back to Egilsstaðir through the mountains impassable for the night with my vehicle. I stopped my Media Luna in search of available rooms for the night, and the staff was very kind and accommodating. He explained the usual plowing schedule for the town, and showed me around the guesthouse. Easy to get around with a common fridge | kitchen area, and all the rooms accessible through one central hallway. I was pleasantly surprised at how nice the rooms were, being very clean and spacious with a nice and modern private bathroom. Great color scheme with browns and forest greens as well. I'm very appreciative for the accommodation, which made an unexpected hiccup into a nice detour during my Ring Road trip! I will certainly be staying here again if I visit Iceland again and am looking for somewhere to stay in Seyðisfjörður. Takk!

屬於家庭旅館，到的時候老闆就把鑰匙放門口，自己按名字拿。門口就是著名的彩虹道，旁邊就有餐廳，很方便。我們就是在這裏追到了極光。旁邊餐廳的工作人員建議我們車開出去一點，沒有燈光容易看。我們開出去五分鐘停路邊，一會就拍到了，不旺此行。

該房子太棒啦，棒得忘記拍更多照片了，位置好，一進小鎮不遠就到了，房子背後有寬敞停車場，把行李從停車位搬到房間也比較省力（在歐洲旅遊這很重要）房間 廚房 洗衣房 洗手間 客廳都在一層，不用上下樓梯搬行李，客廳 廚房 洗手間 洗衣房都很大，櫃子很大 （衣架齊全，很多時候很多房子衹有一兩個衣架很不方便）熱水好，暖氣足（每間房間都可以自行調節）房間很乾凈，物品配置豐富，廚房設施太齊全了，我們做了一頓不錯的晚餐，窗外正對港口遊輪，滿足民宿所有希望。來這小鎮強烈推薦選擇

This accommodation belongs to Hotel Aldan. We had the apartment in the ground floor of Gamli Skólinn. There was a huge wow as we opened the door. What a marvelous place! Our second sentence was, ”we're going to STAY here”, like... not going to leave, at all :) The lobby staff is really nice. All possible amenities in the kitchen. Washing machine and dryer, and such gorgeous environment in Seyðisfjörður. This is a Top 10. Huge thumbs up!

Standard icelandic hotel whereby no toiletries provided. Good location easy to find. Nearby has petrol & groceries for top up of necessities. Reception is professional but not friendly and warm.

I'd absolutely go back there. No reals Cons in my opinion but we didn't actually use the showers. However the bathrooms were clean from what I could see. The kitchen was clean and well appointed with the necessary items. Rooms were clean and a bit spacious actually which was awesome for 4 of us. However two of our number stated the pillows and comforter stunk of febreeze. Two of us noticed nothing although we were assured that our bedding also stunk hahaha. Check in was brief and didn't instruction us on how to check out and after about 7pm there was no one present until the day after we left according to the sign on the door.

Freundlicher und hilfsbereiter (Tischreservation in einem anderen Restaurant) Empfang. Zimmer sind OK, für eine Nacht war alles vorhanden was benötigt wurde, Platzverhältnisse für Alleinreisende ausreichend, zu Zweit wird es etwas eng. Frühstücksangebot entsprach dem normalen, nichts ausergwöhnliches, alles von guter Qualität. Parkplätze genügend vorhanden (vor- und hinter dem Haus).
