We chose Vos based on the high reviews here and also proximity to everything we wanted to do on the way to Vik (about an hour drive and a half from the hotel) and yet have a shorter drive heading back north on the final day of our stay as opposed to be driving back from Vik - and from that perspective it couldn't work out any better, given I was surprised how far from the main road the hotel itself is - not that it's a problem but just quite a drive to make it back and forth if you stay for longer than 1 night, like we did. The hotel is cozy, clean, on a smaller end - for some reason I expected a much bigger property - the rooms therefore were on a smaller end, probably the smallest rooms we had during our 10 days - it wasn't an issue of course as there was still plenty room for 2 big bags to open up. Breakfast was tasty, fresh and complimentary hot tea/chocolate/coffee 24/7 was also a very welcome thing - especially at night when we stayed outside longer in the cold waiting for the northern lights :) honor bar was also a nice touch if beer (prices very comparable to everywhere else) or wine or soda/pop was something you wanted to grab (no walking distance store, nor one for quite a long drive either so pick up things before you settle in or use the honor bar) We were excited for the dinner but ultimately skipped as it's a very limited menu (understandably) - in a retrospective that wasn't the best idea as there are no really great dinner spots in this area of Iceland until you really get closer to Vik - and that is way too long of a drive just for a meal

Armot Guesthouse is a truly delightful place to stay - we would have loved to have been able to stay longer. The room was warm and d cosy and everything was beautifully presented - the beds were probably the most comfortable we have experienced on our travels. Highlights were the farm setting, the horses and the upstairs sitting room where we relaxed, listened to music, enjoyed the complimentary tea & coffee and chatted with other guests. A really good breakfast to send us on our way.

Llegamos a la habitación alquilada y estaba deshecha, usada por las anteriores personas que se quedaron allí. Se estaba haciendo de noche hacía frío y estuvimos 1 hora esperando intentando localizar a los dueños que no nos cogían el teléfono (con el coste de las llamadas que eso conlleva) finalmente tuvimos que llamar a Booking. Después de 1 hora se presentó allí una mujer diciendo que nos ofrecían otra habitación, concretamos con ella que ya no queríamos estar allí después de la larga espera y perdimos una excursión que teníamos por este tema y acordamos el reembolso. Como fue de palabra, las palabras se las llevó el viento y nos cobraron el alojamiento. Una auténtica vergüenza llegar a un sitio que el check in es a las 16h y llegar a las 18:30h y que no esté la habitación lista y que haya que estar llamando por teléfono y que ni siquiera den señales de vida. Encima del incidente parecía que había que pedirles perdón nosotros. No lo recomiendo en absoluto.

We are really disappointed at the stay of the Aurora Igloo as it didn’t mention that there’s no toilet inside the room. We have to walk for 100m outside to get the bathroom as the winter is so cold and windy in December. Moreover, the hotel heater isn’t working really well, so we didn’t stay for the second night. As we have spoken to the owner, he says that we are able to receive refund in to my card. Thank you.

Parents- read this to protect your children! Our travel agent booked this hotel. After doing some research, I discovered that it has 4 out of 5 stars (which is exactly what the owner states on their TV station that is played in a continuous loop in the rooms-odd). I was hoping that 4 stars wasn't correct. After staying there, I discovered that it should be 2-3 star hotel. I give it 3 for the following positives: It was clean, there's plenty of parking, and it's easy to find. The ”garden” area is more like a patio area. There's a few tables and chairs and a make-shift basketball court. Also, the breakfast is great. There is a lot of selection:fruit, breads, eggs, bacon, waffles, and more. The negatives: The hotel boasts about having hot tubs and saunas. This is true, however, one of the hot tubs in the garden is not hot at all. It's cooler than bath water. Also, the employees aren't overly friendly. They aren't rude, but they definitely don't have a ”welcome” sort of attitude. The food at the restaurant was over-priced and not good. (I had the steak and paid $50 for it. It was not very hot and very tough.) The hotel is very large and there are a lot of people staying. (Think your bus loads of people). Here's the part for parents: take caution! The showers change temperatures more often than the weather in Iceland! My husband went first and warned me. It goes from the temperature you set it for and then goes to cold and immediately to scalding hot! It could seriously burn someone!! I'm sure this happens often as I have seen it in other hotels because there are too many guests staying there

La Struttura è posizionata nell'isolata campagna islandese. Si raggiunge facilmente dalla Ring Road seguendo le indicazioni. All'arrivo bisogna avvisare tramite un telefono del proprio arrivo e i Gestori arrivano in pochi minuti a darti la chiave. La camera è ampia, come pure il bagno ma non era provvista di cucina (non ho indagato se fosse possibile utilizzare quella della Struttura). A disposizione lettore DVD ed un'ampia collezione di DVD. Struttura pulitissima. Ho deciso di provare la colazione (da conteggiare a parte...): prodotti freschissimi e di mio gradimento. Letti comodissimi. Silenzio irreale. Simpatici e socievoli cavalli Islandesi nel recinto adiacente alla Struttura

When we booked Kansarlinn we were a bit apprehensive if we had made the right choice but for our given dates there was little affordable in the neighborhood. What a pleasant surprise we were in for! The unpretentious road-side white hotel with its adjacent same-name restaurant proved to be one of our best accommodation experiences in island. Will start by saying how wonderful the people are, the owner ( a country music lover!) and all of the staff at the restaurant, wonderful people,. The hotel itself is quiet, clean, modern inside, the room was large, comfortable for 3 people, value-for-money for sure. Only thing that we did not like /could be improved is the size of the beds that are tiny in width! What is this with single Icelandic beds to be hardly 60 cm wide??! I had not fallen off my bed since I was 4, nearly did here. Note that the double is two teeny singles put together. Also the view could have been been a bit better but is part of the deal of a roadside hotel/inn... The adjacent restaurant was great, we enjoyed a fabulous local fish and chips dinner with some local draft beer under the sounds of some good country music for a very competitive price! The breakfast, served in the restaurant was equally fabulous, filled us to the max with both hot and cold offerings and great coffee. Highly recommended, hotel and restaurant alike!

Le check-in est un peu particulier: il faut appeler un numéro, entre 16h et 21h, depuis un téléphone fixe situé dans le hall. Je sens venir le coup foireux... et ça n'a pas loupé! Le téléphone ne fonctionne pas, par SMS pas de réponse non plus, mail idem,... nous finissons par appeler via booking et mon téléphone, on me répond en islandais, je comprends rien, parle 3 mots d'anglais, du coup mon interlocuteur aussi, sauf que ça capte pas, et finis par raccrocher, espérant qu'on me rappelle, en vain...dehors, ça capte mieux, et on finit par avoir un numéro de chambre et un code de porte... La cuisine commune aux 15 chambres semble très bien équipée : machine à café façon hotel avec cappuccino et cie, équipée de deux fours, 2 plaques, ... c'est génial! Oui, enfin ça, c'était sur le papier: la machine à café ne fonctionne pas, il n'y a qu'une plaque pour les deux fours, et aucun plat. les salles d'eau sont très limites pour le nombre de couchage.
