世間にはあまり知られていない熊本県芦北町・湯浦温泉の一軒宿。外観は昭和ムード満載だが、館内はリニューアルされ、防音効果はない造りではあったが綺麗で快適である。連泊で朝食付のリーズナブル価格で利用。温泉は男女別浴場と家族湯の３箇所。男女別浴場は規模も大きくないが立ち寄り湯も兼ねており、夕方は立ち寄り客の利用もあるので夕方は家族湯、朝の宿泊客専用時間帯に男女別浴場を利用した。源泉かけ流しでで湯も贅沢に注がれ、ぬる湯のつるつるした湯である。朝食だけの評価になるが暖かく美味しい和食で料理の上手な人が作っているのだろうと感じた。サービスも十分満足で、コスパの高い大人向きの宿。

口コミで期待過剰のところもありましたが、施設としては古いですね。 脚の悪い両親を連れて行きましたが、エレベーターや廊下に手摺が無くて苦労しました。 エスカレーターのサイズも小さいので車いすで入ったとしても家族が多いと乗りに**うな広さ。 また食事場所の移動も長く、引き戸のレールがあったりあまり歩きやすいとは言えない構造でした。 和室に泊まりましたが、たたきに当たる部分から段差があり年老いた両親は床に手をついてしかあがれません。部屋にも手摺は無いのです。 靴を脱いでそのままだと4人分の靴がじゃましてドアの開け閉めが出来ず、いちいち靴をどけながらの出入りに面倒臭さをおぼえました。 またふすまを隔ててのお手洗い（洋式便器）ですが、流すときの音が爆音で・・・。夜中に起きてトイレを使うと目が覚めました。 しかし泊まった日は線状降水帯が来てるんじゃないかと思ったほど強い雨が降った日でしたが、部屋にいる時は雨音などは気になりませんでした。 食事は夕食も朝食もビュッフェ形式だったのすが、焼き物以外でもっとあたたかい副菜があるとうれしいです。 いろいろ設備面でのことを書いてしまいましたが、働いていらっしゃるスタッフさんはみな優しく、朗らかな方が多くて気分は良かったです。 ほかの方も書いておられますが、お手紙をいただきました。 夕食の時に写真を撮ってくださって、「あとで送っときます」とおっしゃったので、メールで送っていただけるのかと思いきや、郵送で。 メッセージ付きで、とても良い表情の写真を別居している私、両親、娘と３枚も送ってくださって、会話の内容をよく聞いてくださっていたのだと感動しました。

部屋は狭いです。でも、部屋に付いてるお風呂は広いです！部屋全体の半分をお風呂が占めてます笑。 まさかの、脱衣所とお座敷の間に扉もカーテンもなく、三世代ファミリーで来たわたしたちは困りました。なんとか目隠しになるようなものを探してもらい、設置してもらいました。温泉は24時間掛け流しで、ぬるめですが気持ちいいです。ちなみに、別館の大浴場は現在閉鎖してるそうです。 食事は口コミでは賛否両論あるみたいですが、とっても美味しかったですよ。刺身、茶碗蒸し、伊勢海老グラタン、鮑のバターソテー、ふぐの唐揚げ、ビーフシチュー、お吸い物など。品数も多いし、すべて美味しかったです。なにより、旅館のおばちゃんたちが明るくて楽しかったです。 全体的に年季が入っており古く、昔ながらという感じです。ただ、男性用のアメニティ（化粧水など）がしっかり準備されてたのには驚きました笑。 いろいろツッコミどころはありますが、美味しい食事と気持ちいい温泉で満足です！
