Just got back from the most amazing 4 day stay at the Sol Oasis. Incredible hotel. The staff are all amazing. Special mention to Andrea at guest services who is AMAZING and who went above and beyond to help make the weekend incredibly special. She helped me to organise a special surprise and the effort she put in far exceeded my expectations. Also a shout out to the bar staff who were incredible. They literally made us feel like VIPs. Everyone is so friendly and the treatment is incredible, your made to feel very special from the minute you arrive. The food was incredible, the cocktails were lovely and the hotel was super clean and beautiful. Everything is so well organised. The pool party Saturday night was incredible. All the entertainment id well thought out and organised. I would highly recommend this hotel. Thank you so much, we can’t wait to come back again x

We upgraded from a delux tent to an aironditioned room given the high temperatures and this was arranged well over email. The rooms are very basic (not really like the pics which were obviously dressed for the photoshoot). Aircon works well and was a godsend. The bathroom is terrible - contortion yourself around the basin and sit on the loo with your nose almost touching the wall. No soaps or shampoos provided. The pool is lovely, and there were enough sun loungers. The reception and cafe/restaurant only takes cash, and you need a taxi to get to the nearest ATM, 10 mins away by car. We sat for 3 hours one morning waiting for food because the staff member on duty did not offer us an alternative to the 1 traditional breakfast which was not an experience I wanted to repeat, and she said that was all that we could order. Despite this we saw plates of scrambled egg and toast going out to other diners. We were told that the kitchen opened at 11am for anything else so by that time we thought we'd just a little longer for what we wanted. By the time food arrived it was 12 noon, and I'd called the manager over twice to complain and apparently it was because she only spoke French and didn't understand, and everything was made fresh from scratch - we'd only ordered a pani and chips - hardly an hours worth of prep. In a site that does not allow you to bring food in, the choice of breakfast needs a serious overhaul. Had there been another option on the menu I could have pointed to it. Lunch menu's; we had 2 out of 4 meals that were good. The manager, Amenina, spoke English and French and she was very good. We called her at midnight one night to arrange a taxi for us from the main square since we wanted reassurance that we would get to our destination safely, and she made sure she sent someone reputable. So, it's a cheap stay - great if you have kids. Pity there is not much grass and just sand around the site, and no campsite shop. A few more conveniences would not go amiss.

This is just not a 5 star hotel. If I'm generous its a 3 star hotel that I wouldn't recommend even as a 3 star. We observed a consistent two tier service. If you are french speaking it's with smiles and courtesy. If you are English it is with frowns and bluntness. I've never experienced this in the hospitality industry. The hotel is a bit tired and past it's heyday. One day I'm sure it was a good hotel. All the tiles outside are cracked and broken. On checkin we had two rooms allocated for our booking. One king and one twin. The king was also a twin when we got there. We were then offered a king on a different side of the hotel or we could join the twins together. We chose the latter so we could be close. But not ideal and I don't think a couple enjoys a crack in the middle of a bed! The rooms were ok. Tired and worn out. Carpets are stained. Air con was not working which was addressed the following day. Towels like they are 20 years old, thin, rough, freyed and grey. While we had a balcony, outside areas of the hotel always smell of sewage. The room was visited by ants every morning. One night we left a packet of biscuits on the desk and it was covered in hundreds of ants!!! Room service was a horror show. Asked for an iron every day multiple times and finally got one 3 days in and that was after the first one didn't work. One evening we phoned for water about 5 times over two hours for water and in the end at 23:30 we got a small bottle of water...this was after telling them repeatedly it was needed for medication. There is a clear problem with the front desk, it s like they take your request and chose whether to bother actioning it or not. A bit of a lottery. Food, we were all inclusive. If you are a vegetarian it's game over. There is very little they wanted to do to go a mile to do anything other than pointed us to vegetables and rice every day. We spoke to the chef on our first day and they said they would do something for us in addition to the buffet. They did on the first night but it was just dips and a plate full of very oily spring rolls, hardly a well put together meal. The second night it was like they didn't want to know us. Two of my family then got very sick with the food and also caught a virus which needed a doctor visit and antibiotics. We hadn't left the hotel so we know this was down to the hotel hygiene/quality of food. Listening to other guests we were not the only ones who got sick. There are a couple of al a carte restaurants as part of the hotel complex which you are entitled to two visits as part of the all inclusive package. The Mediterranean restaurant was the only 5 star aspect of this whole holiday. The ambience, decor, staff, service and food quality was second to none. It felt amazing after being treated like cattle in the buffet restaurant to feel finally welcomed and served with respect and courtesy. The Italian restaurant had some promise. Where to start… first, the pictures as well as the majority of good reviews are very very outdated. The hotel requires some serious renovation, it’s literally falling apart: the furniture is shabby, tv doesn’t work, towels are dirty, birds’ droppings are all over the pool area, gym equipment is from the 90s. The food in the restaurant is uneatable (apart from the breakfast, it was basic but good). The worst thing about it is that the reception actually only works from 9am-7pm, so if your check out is outside of this frame- the receptionist will call you multiple times asking you to come pay the day before. Isn’t a 24h reception a basic for a 5 star hotel? We also asked for a breakfast basket since we had to leave the hotel 30 min before the breakfast starts (8am) which is a very standard practice. The receptionist lady (hello, Sofia) was extremely rude, her answer was « MADAME, as I said, the breakfast starts at 8, there is nobody to give you food before ». This hotel is the furthest from 5 stars that I’ve ever experienced in my life and I travel very frequently. The receptionist’s attitude is appalling, they will also offer you to get a « touristic taxi » which charges 20 eur for every trip to centre Marrakesh (don’t do it, just use the apps and pay 5-10 eur instead). There are a lot of good hotels in Marrakesh, please stay elsewhere.

This place should have been good as the facilities are quite nice with big rooms a pool bar and restaurant. The service levels however were basically awful - rude staff and a totally underwhelming restaurant with a take it or leave it attitude was not good enough. An understocked bar and loud thumping music all around the pool area did nothiing to add to one's enjoyment. As this is situated 5 miles from the centre I would suggest there are much better ”5 star” hotels in Marrakesh
