We have just returned from a very enjoyable and relaxing 12 days at the Laguna Beach hotel. We chose this hotel as it was both small and quiet and it certainly didn't disappoint. Frequently we almost had the beach to ourselves which was amazing, and there was never an issue with the availability of sunbeds either on the beach or round the pool. The rooms are kept very clean by some lovely and friendly housekeeping ladies, but the rooms could do with some updating. I can see this would be a major undertaking as there are stone plinths in several places within the room. The balcony was very large with excellent lighting meaning we could sit out late at night and complete crossword puzzles. The hotel is very isolated on the outskirts of a small village with little facilities. We were only able to do one trip as we couldn't pay for the taxi trip by card and we had very limited cash with us, and there is no ATM either in the hotel or village, you needed a taxi to take you to a cash machine, however the trip to Port Louis and the north of the island was very good value. Food was plentiful and generally pretty good. As a pescatarian I am used to having a limited choice, however there did seem to be only 1 variety of fish served, which was disguised with slightly different sauces. Because the food is prepared in advance the fish did suffer from being overcooked and dried out, but the vegetables, rice and potatoes were fine, and the soup was especially hot and tasty each night. However, the dining experience was let down by the overall organisation and the waiting staff who run the dining room. Almost every time we went for dinner we had to wait and ask for a table to be set in the outdoor area as it was too hot to eat inside. It appeared we were invisible to the staff who just ignored us. After a week I did go to the front desk to make them aware of the issue, but there was only a marginal improvement. The waiting staff seemed to be focussed only on clearing plates and twice they took my plate off me while I was still eating. On a positive note, the lovely Habiba was wonderful, greeting us with a welcoming smile and making us feel like valued guests, she should be put in charge of training the waiting staff, teaching them that a welcoming smile and greeting goes a long way. All the other staff, chefs, people serving the food, housekeeping staff, front desk personnel were really friendly speaking to you and always asking how I was today. (I use a stick and my back is stiff and aching in a morning.) Overall, a good place to stay if you appreciate a small hotel and like having a quiet relaxing time. We would definitely consider returning as this hotel was good value for money.

I cannot recommend Evazion enough. Since day 1 I was impressed by the warm welcome from Mr Laverdure and all the people who work there - the cleaners, the cooks, the helpers. At Evazion we felt like we were paying a visit to family members. Such was the hospitality of our host. The rooms were clean and spacious. We had an excellent dinner (fish curry, vegetables, faratas etc) and breakfast (crepe, egg, fruits, gato pimen, gato banane etc) in the package. I had one of my best weekend since a long time. I spent quality time in nature kayaking, dozing on the hammock or trekking to Beau Champs waterfall. I look forward to my next visit at Evazion!

Sehr schöne Appartements, mit Küche, Bad, 2 Schlafzimmer und einem oder zwei Balkonen. Super Aussicht auf die Küste und das grüne Umland. Liegt etwas abgelegen, aber mit einem Mietwagen ist alles sehr gut zu erreichen. Sehr gutes Frühstück, super nette Besitzerin und freundliche Mitarbeiter. Man fühlt sich mit da zugehörig. Schöner großer Pool und eine schöner Garten lassen hier Ruhe und Urlaubgefühle aufkommen. Gerne komme ich wieder

If I could bottle Mauritius, this hotel and its staff and take it home I would. Beautiful unspoiled beaches, friendly people (who happily accept my awful school French) and well planned villas with plunge pools (there’s 11 and 20+ rooms) makes this hotel a winner although our mini pool sent my naturally grey hair green every day (lol) . The food is a bit mixed- breakfast is great, lunch is limited and the evening meal choices are a bit ‘samey’ but the pasta is exceptional. Free snorkelling and glass bottom boat everyday if you’re quick enough to book and the sea is calm. The acid test is would you come back? I’m 100% yes!

THANK YOU for a great stay at Friday Attitude I don't have much to say about this particular hotel, other than the word AMAZING... Hotel, staff, location, food, surroundings, rooms and the beach, I could go on. The staff are absolutely the best, so sweet, friendly, helpful and relaxed. Would definitely choose this hotel again. Fantastic service from all the staff at the hotel. Absolutely fantastic holiday lovely hotel with lovely atmosphere and very friendly staff! The food was varied and super good. Particularly surprising were the people in the kitchen who, despite the all-inclusive/buffet, managed to make every meal interesting. The breakfast is really delicious, with a lot of good choices. Both beach and pool were super delicious, but in return they offer free trips to beautiful beaches, a boat out to a small Bounty island, Ile aux Cerfs, where you can swim and walk along the coast. Can definitely be recommended. The room was beautiful, with a sea view. Great location, the service is top notch and very friendly staff. I will repeat my holiday.

This hotel located on a beautiful lagoon area is exceptionally well managed. The staff are all very friendly and helpful at all times. The hotel offers some 60 or so rooms, adults only, with a good sized infinity pool, which on our visit was never over used and plenty of times was almost empty, yet fabulous to use. We was on a half board basis, and the breakfast boasted an extensive selection from the large well stocked buffet and a selection of other hot foods, all of which were of very good quality and served with impeccable standards. Evening meals were from a large selection and bordering on Michelin star quality standards and service. In the time we stayed for a week, we never ran out of choices of an evening, in fact never completely extended our possible choices. The rooms were very well appointed, suitably sized for your needs, and regularly serviced. We had an exceptional week and enjoyed our stay to the upmost. An extensive array of sun beds and booths align the beachfront. They are on a first come basis, which can lead to disappointment, but on no occasion was there ever the morning race to select or get a space, with more than sufficient for all of the guests.
