We thoroughly enjoyed our first time in the Maldives and loved this island. Getting to and from the island by speeding boat was exhilarating and took between 50/60 mins. The boats are just a few steps away from the arrivals hall at the airport – it couldn’t have been easier. The minimum temp was 29c and it maxed at 33c, although it was humid, being raining season. The rain was minimal and usually happened overnight. Things to do on Eriyadu – Snorkelling, Scooba diving, and general water sporting activities. Fishing and water-life sightseeing. If you don’t fancy any of that then you have sunbathing and swimming, a gym and a spa. This is a place where you can relax and turn off – learn how to loaf, because you are not gonna be busy. Eriyadu is definitely not luxurious or glamourous – if that’s what you want you will need to spend much more money elsewhere. Eriyadu is rustic, relaxed, easy and comfortable – it’s a perfect place to unwind. We were on ‘All Inclusive Plus’ - all food, all drinks, free snorkel hire, free kayak hire, free laundry. In-room tea and coffee and bottled water is plentiful and refreshed twice a day. The rooms are a little tired (they are being updated now), but they were very clean and well looked after by the fab housekeeping team – the bathrooms with outdoor shower are very nice – lovely smelling complimentary toiletries included. Electric plugs are UK style (and multiplug type with USB charging points) so no adapters required. Plus - Wi-Fi was good in the room. The food was very good – buffet style, but there is usually a chef to cook fast order dishes, such as fresh fish, chicken, omelette (appropriate for the time of day). A wonderfully selection of ever changing curries (at least three at every meal with all the sides). Also Chicken, fish, beef/lamb dishes always available, as is pasta, noodles various styles of rice, soup. Superb salads and fresh fruit is always available. The drinks in the restaurant, the main bar and the beach bar are generous. Cocktails included. The house spirits are acceptable, the beer is Carlsberg, the wine was much better than I expected (considering some of the rubbish offered in other ‘wine making’ countries). Eriyadu is a tiny island and most of the rooms (cabins) have a sea facing porch. There is plenty of shade available under the trees for those who don’t want the full-on sun of the beach. We sat in the shade most of the time, however we did catch the sun when swimming (4 or 5 dips a day). We still came away with quite a tan. All of the staff were great, some totally charming. Always professional, helpful and kind. Our vote for best employee goes to Deluar H in the bar. The waiters in the restaurant and the karaoke organiser were also fantastic. The guys on reception were always personable and ready to assist. On my birthday I received a beautiful cake and our bedroom was specially decorated. This happened without anyone asking. How lovely. Overall We have recently returned from a 10 day visit to Makunudu which couldn’t have been better. We had read the reviews before booking and noticed that many people return to the island and now, having experienced it for ourselves first hand, we can fully appreciate why! First impressions From the moment we boarded the speed boat for the transfer to the island and were handed cold towels and water we knew that we were in for a good stay. On arriving at the jetty we were lucky enough to see juvenile black tip reef sharks crusing the shallow waters which set the tone for the nature based experiences that were in store for us. Once we arrived we were ushered to the sandbar where we were given a complimentary iced tea and another cooling face towel.We were made to feel like members of the family from the outset. Hospitality The level of hospitality that we were afforded was faultless across the board. It is the type of place that anticipates what you need before you realise yourself. This was true across the board from management, to the restaurant and bar to housekeeping. The arrival and departure were handled extremely well with clear communications at all stages. The room was spotless and each day whilst were enjoying an amazing buffet breakfast whilst they were busy cleaning our room and making it like we had just arrived. Food The standard of food provided was five star restaurant every meal and they easily catered for specific dietary requirements. From the buffets, BBQs, Maldivian night, standard dining and snacks we were always excited about what was coming next. Entertainment We were lucky enough to be invited to the staff party whilst we were on the island, which was quite an experience! We also enjoyed karaoke, a local singer for the evening, Maldivian dancing and some very informative talks from the dive school team which were fascinating. Dive School The dive school deserves special mention. There were three of us in our party, one who had not been diving for years, one novice with a love of all things acquatic and one novice with a fear of water deeper than 5 feet! We were all given amazing experiences tailored to us individually from the incredibly competent, encouraging and friendly team; we have all walked away with memories that will last a lifetime. Each one of us were extremely touched with the amount of support and well created diving and snorkelling experiences. Natural environment The interior of the island is lush and green. There are hermit crabs, herons, lizards and fruit bats to enjoy before you even get into the water. The house reef is spectacular and we were lucky enough to see nurse sharks, black tip reef sharks, white tip reef sharks, eagle rays, turtles, moray eels and innumerable surgeon fish, damsel fish and anemone fish to name but a few. From start to finish our experience at the Oblu Sangeli was incredible. It was our first time visiting the Maldives and it was everything we could have wished for and more. We stayed in the water villa and it did not disappoint. The room was beautiful and the access to the lagoon was amazing. It was great for snorkelling and had plenty of corals where we saw baby sharks, manta rays and lots of colourful fish! We embarked on the turtle snorkelling trip and saw many turtles which was wonderful! The buffet was great and we appreciated that they changed the dishes every day so you had a variety to choose from. A huge thanks to Chef Rahul who not only made excellent Indian food for us, but also became a good friend and was always so kind to us. Another big thanks to the waiter, Yathrib, who was so friendly and attentive to us and gave excellent service. This really made our experience even better. We also really enjoyed the fine dining experiences included in the Serenity plan. Both restaurants (just grill & just wok) served delicious food and a nice view of the sunset. A highlight for us was the pool as it was right next to the ocean and the view was incredible. We loved the slide leading into the ocean, that was a vey unique touch for the hotel and lots of fun at the pool party too and recommend you throw a pool party a couple times a week as it was great! We really enjoyed the live entertainment in the evenings and especially loved listening to Dee & Jay singing so beautifully! A highlight for us was definitely the excellent service from the staff. From the first day we could see that they were genuinely nice people and took pride in their job. A special shout out to the Sangs bar staff who were always kind and friendly to us. They made our experience better by just being genuinely nice people and their service was excellent! A big thanks to Pradeep and Lahiru who lead the team and always greeted us with a smile and made us feel at home. A huge thanks to Ibrahim and Madheeh who made us laugh everyday and gave brilliant service. You made our experience even better by just meeting you all. We will definitely return to the hotel in the future as it was the best holiday we've ever had! The Maldives is really paradise on earth! Don't think twice about booking to stay at this hotel because it's perfect!

This was amazing place, even despite coming in October during rainy season. Service was exceptional from the begging- person awaiting us on the airport, speed boat transfer late evening, with nice welcome and service (water/towels/wifi) We arrived late evening, so dinner packages were ready in the room. All Incl package was nice however we missed some food in between breakf-lunch and dinner. Issue is wifi which was not working properly/everywhere. Normally i think its ok as we do not need internet on such vacations, but as we needed to work one day it was hard. Again anyways. Great service. Hospitality of staff in restaurant and bar too. Also reception who gave us a chance of later checkout. It was very convenient as we travelled with 2yrs old toddler. Room was spacious, kept clean every day properly + water bottles delivered daily. Good snorkling trips for free provided daily.

One of the best resorts we have been to. Rooms are spacious. Service is impeccable. Food is great. Price is on the high side, but I still feel we got value for our money. Highly recommended.

We reached the resort at noon on September 25, 2024, and were warmly welcomed by the staff with a refreshing drink. The team was very informative and eager to accommodate our needs. The rooms were clean, and the toilets were well-maintained. We experienced both the beach villas and the water villas, and each provided a unique and enjoyable stay. Our dining experiences in both restaurants were wonderful. Chef Mr. Prakash ensured we received exactly the food we wanted, prepared to our preferences. We really appreciate the exceptional service from Madu, Najah, Arusham, Tariq, Zaki, and Hawwa. Satish, from the front office, was particularly friendly and helpful. We were able to communicate easily in Tamil, which made it even easier for us to learn more about the resort and the country. Although we may have missed mentioning some names, we found that all the staff were very polite and helpful overall. We also took a snorkeling lesson, and Hussain was fantastic in teaching us how to use the equipment and guiding us to see the coral and fish. We were thrilled to spot reef sharks and many colorful fish. From the warm welcome and informative staff to the wonderful dining experiences, snorkeling, and the personalized care, everything contributed to a memorable stay. her staff waved us off with a poster that said, ”We'll miss you!” This thoughtful gesture really touched us. 春節期間麻袋漲價太厲害，翻了半天攻略選擇卡吉島。島面積不大，主打spa和養生，適合喜歡安靜悠閑的人，吃的不錯可以感受到大廚還算用心。住322號水屋位置很棒，腳底下就是魚兒游來游去，下水往外遊十米就是珊瑚和海溝，退潮的時候水很淺適合浮潛新手（請一定要穿救生衣）。總的來説服務跟6🌟島還是有些差距但是性價比不錯，推薦～
