We enjoyed our stay here. Good breakfast options and a nice lounge/lobby area. Has a relaxed feel and a good ambience. Staff have been friendly and helpful, making you feel welcome. The rooms were OK but rather basic. Tea and coffee making facilities would have improved the experience, and we would have liked power sockets/phone charging points for both beds. But a good experience overall.
The location was away from the city center which was not a problem at all because if the available buses of not too far bus stops, the fare to city center was also cheap. The area was quiet and had a scenic view. Breakfast was great although they could’ve considered more food choices. Cleaners were obviously hardworking because they clean, change towels and refill soaps EVERYDAY considering that we paid the lowest priced room. I’ve stayed at 4 Scandic branches around Norway and I could say that this is one of the best I’ve been to.

3 minutes walk from Skøyen train station, only 2 stops away from Central station. Quiet surrounding with supermarket, restaurants and cafes around the hotel. Breakfast is definitely the biggest highlight with plenty of options including hot food, delicious cinnamon buns, crispy waffles etc. Room is spacious with very comfortable beddings, fast wifi and strong shower. The biggest weakness to me would be the heating system which is way too weak to warm up the room in zero degree celsius. Other than the heating, this is a great place to stay with excellent breakfast. This would be a 5-stars rating if heater were stronger.
A great place with history and amazing hosts. We really recomend a stay here. We booked a couple of nights and also ate at their restaurant Lanternan at the harbour. Try that one to! Marvelous creepes and Galettes. Some noise went upstairs the second night from downstairs I think but no big deal. We fell asleep anyhow.
We stayed at the Frogner House Apartments after doing the Norway in a Nutshell route from Bergen to Oslo. One thing to consider, if you are doing that route, is that the luggage porter services that will collect your baggage in Bergen and deliver it to Oslo need to have a place to deliver it with a reception. Frogner House is not staffed with a reception area. We had not known of that, so when we arranged to have a porter service take our bags, they had to leave them at an office that services the apartments. That office closes at 11 pm, and by the time we got into Oslo on the train, it was almost 11 and while we just made it, it was stressful. Then we had to drag our suitcases a few blocks to the apartments. I was very disappointed with the room we had at Frogner House. There are a couple of pros: it is in a very good location, close to the Vigeland Sculpture Park, and with many nice places to eat nearby; there are nice convenient hooks by the door; there is a large window that opens fairly wide; the finishes are nice; it's modern; the beds are comfortable; the linens were fine including the towels; the bathroom was actually fine except that it has terrible lighting over the sink and it could have used a fan in it because it gets super humid in there when you take a shower. The cons; the room did not look even slightly like the ”brochure picture” that was on my booking from ***********; I thought it was large enough to contain a small couch and that it was going to have an open kitchen area. It actually has an armoire that opens up with a sink and it has has pots and pans, cutlery, and glasses all tucked into this closet. It's a clever arrangement but the room is way too small to even attempt to cook in such a space. There was one small round table and two chairs, but you could only use one chair because the other one needed to have a suitcase on it. I didn't even have a place for my suitcase, I simply stored it upright on the floor and then I had to drag it onto the bed every time I wanted to access it. When we arrived we were tired, it was very late and the room was stuffy and hot. One thing that I didn't know prior to making bookings in Norway was that air conditioning is not the norm. Without air conditioning rooms can be quite stifling in summer, especially on the upper floors. If you want to leave the window open at night, that creates its own issue, as then you can't close the drapes against the long summer light. You can see from the photos that the room as pictured looked quite spacious. The reality was very different. One of the reasons I booked the apartment was the advertised laundry facilities on each floor. While there was a washer and dryer on our floor, the dryer did not work, and when I called the person you are supposed to contact about problems, she said that that was the only washer/dryer in the building. After doing some looking, I did find another washer/dryer on a different floor.
As a couple, we had a long stay at Frogner apartments located at Camilla Collets vei 19 just a few hundred meters away from Skovveien 8. We stayed at Frogner apartments for 4 months from April 23 to early August 23 for work purposes. We rented a one bedroom flat, not a single room. The global experience was positive but we would like to highlight a few points so the future guests may enjoy a better experience: 1) When we initially booked online, we were told that upon arrival someone will be there to let us in the flat (at Camilla Colletts) and give us the pass cards. When we arrived on site with our 4 big luggages, no one was physically there to open the door and let us in. We had to go and fetch the pass cards at their local agency at Skovveien 8, hundred meters away from the rented flat. It is rather inconvenient after a long trip with four big luggages to handle. My partner had to wait on the street with the four luggages whilst I went to their local agency to get the pass cards. Not a very welcoming experience then. 2) The price of the rent per month is rather quite expensive but we knew it and still were happy to book it for our four months work stay. As for a long stay, you move with a lot of clothes and belongings. We only had three hangers available. When I enquiried if we could have some more, I was politely invited to buy them myself or to pay an extra cost. It might be a detail but when you pay that amount for renting I don't think that requesting a few more hangers deserved that type of answer. 3) All furnitures and different rooms were clean. We were quite surpised not to find a microwave in the kitchen. Why not including a microwave (which is now a basic kitchen furniture) especially when it is known that guests have booked for a long stay? 4) Despite the high price for renting, if you want a weekly cleaning of your flat, an extra cost is asked. We have been in other apart-hotels before and a weekly cleaning included in the initial booking price was ALWAYS performed. 5) When you book online, you don't know exactly which flat you are renting (1st floor? 2nd floor? balcony?), we were quite disappointed to get a flat on the ground floor with no balcony although it was specified we would be there for a long stay. 6) On our leaving day, we kindly asked if we could stay a little longer than 11 am (which is the standard leaving time) in order to match with our travel connection back to the airport to avoid us wandering with our 4 big luggages. After having stayed there 4 months and paid that amount, I think that would have been a fair ”favour” to make on their side. That was declined as the roll over time had to be respected in order to provide the best experience for the next guests. I guess that the best quality of service for guests includes not welcoming them on their location site upon their arrival? To summarise, as already mentioned above, it has been a global positive experience, the flat was really clean and nicely l

Definitely staying at The Thief upon our return to Oslo. Incredible customer service, comfortable beds, best water pressure I have have ever experienced with sizzling hot water! Incredible location! Walk everywhere! Dining and shops immediately outside the front door. Downstairs bar was super chill hang out with phenomenal cocktails. Sassy blossom was my favorite.
Hotel is located in a quiet area close to Oslo city centre. The hotel itself is quite cozy and has a calming athmosphere. We got a free upgrade when we checked in, which was a very wonderful surprise. We were really grateful for that :) We didn't get breakfast or use the spa during our stay, which I regret a little after leaving, but then we'll just have to come back soon for that :) We enjoyed our short stay very much :)
