Minus: If you have a larger car, the parking in the basement can create problems, many columns all over the place and very narrow down with a turn to the garage. As a Platinum member of Thon Hotels you get a bag with usually a handwritten card and some chocolate, the hotel forgot this. I couldn't get the temperature in the room to more than 23 degrees. I like to have it a little warmer in the room as I freeze easily, and I remember doing this in the room. One thing not related to this stay, but a stay i had to cancel, don't contact them by email, its always slow it seems at Thon Hotels in general. Called them, the receptionist said i would get an email about cancelling, but never got this as we agreed over the phone. Plus: Got a large room on the top floor with a view of the train station just as I requested. Great design, several and large mirrors in the room, good large double bed, 2 armchairs, large desk, lots of light, nice view, large bathroom with a bathtub! Quiet and peaceful atmosphere. Quick check-in and check-out. Very good breakfast, but slightly smaller than other Thon Hotels.

I have stayed at this hotel many times as it is located close to my family when I visit Norway. Another important issue for me has been the free parking outside, but now this has come to an end.. A private parking company has bought the area outside, and there are just a few small signs that indicate so.. This has been the ”carrot” for me, but this time, and when seeing all the cars that had received a parkingfine - it:s enough for me. I will not stay there anymore with this kind of unfriendly welcome harassment! A hotel should take care of their guest - not leave them with stupid and high parking fines..The location of the hotel is outside the border of Oslo, and no one benefits of parking there.. Besides from this - the breakfast is good, but the rooms are very small. You will have a problem to fit an average sized suitcase in the room. The personel working there are very nice though :-) and there is also a well fitted gym in the basement.

Great . Good place for staying when you in Oslo and just want get a place to sleep not overpaying on hotel room around central area. And this is a great place for very affordable price. And guess what, no TV and it’s nice without it :) Recommended 👍 Host 👇. Outside👇view. Hostess 👇. 😇

Thon Hotel Vettre Single female traveler on a weekend excursion to scuba dive in a Fjord and see Oslo. The Thon Hotel was reasonably priced and an easy bus ride from Oslo center. I chose it as I was taking a scuba diving class in Vollen. The bus stop is 200 meters from Reception. Nura the receptionist was more of a concierge. The check in was easy and Nura assisted with logistics to get to Vollen and day trips to Oslo. Nura is a star! The room was nicer than expected with a balcony to greenery. The bed was comfortable. The bathroom contained shower gel and soap and had heated floors. There is a fridge with mini bar. My hairdryer was on the fritz and Nura secured me a loan dryer from the hotel. The lock turns from the inside and can not be opened without turning that lock from the inside. Secure. The front desk has beverages for sale including alcoholic and non alcoholic beverages as well as chips. There is a Kiwi grocery store nearby. It is not open on Sunday. The restaurant was quite good for dinner with a nice selection of wines by the glass or bottle that you can take back to the room. Breakfast was included. There are juices, coffee and milk and non-dairy options. They had 4 choices of eggs, bacon, sausages, Turkey meatballs, roasted potatoes, and beans. There were different types of breads to slice as well as croissants. Many different types of quality cheeses were available along with fresh fruits and vegetables. There were yogurt and cereal choices as well. The pool was a decent size and offered towels, showers and a changing room. Vettre is beautiful. I would stay here again and I would choose the Thon chain again based on this experience.

Hotel Leangkollen is a fantastic hotel, situated in a lovely place with fantastic history and great outdoor areas. The hotel has what I/we experienced as Norway's best food for both lunch and dinner. We also had a conference at the hotel, and break food and coffee were always ready between the program. For those who have a conference in the same wing as the rooms, I still have to recommend going to the break section at the reception, which has an even better selection if you have forgotten breakfast, feel like for some fruit, popcorn, sweets or simply soft ice cream. The staff were welcoming with a smile and provided fantastic service througout our entire stay. Don't forget to give a little praise here and there to the individual if you are lucky enough to experience the and the same quality of staff we experencied from arrival to departure. All in all, delighted. The hotel can be highly recommended for conferences in a work context, but also for private overnight stays/travels.
