We were due to stay just one night but got stuck in Napier when Cyclone Gabrielle struck. The staff could not have been more helpful We woke on the morning we were due to depart and the power went out. The manager tried to help us find an alternative route out of town, but when we couldn't he agreed that we can stay in our room. It was clean and very well presented, if we had power (not the hotels fault) we could have cooked a meal very comfotably in the excellent kitchenette in our room. The bathroom was spacious. With no power the staff provided torches and extra sanitiser. They stayed on site and available 24 hours a day and were a constant source of information and support.

Lovely hotel just out of town but in a nice vibe quay area Reception staff were super friendly and helpful and assisted us in organising lunch at one of the wineries. Room (1 bed suite) was very clean spacious with the most comfortable bed and good quality bed linen. There was free washing and drying families on site which was a real bonus. Breakfast was in an adjoining restaurant and was delicious Faboulous hotel fabulous staff and highly recommended

Well this is a first!! The first terrible review we have ever written! We had a confirmed booking a year ago at this Motel through *********** for a concert and had put all our plans in place to get away, including travelling some distance to get there. We suddenly received a cancellation notice from this Motel via *********** for no reason and just a few weeks before the concert. This weekend was v popular and there are no other options for accomodation at such short notice. After repeated attempts to call the Motel, messages and emails left unanswered and *********** confirming the booking was cancelled by the Motel, we can only assume that they have resold our room for a higher price and put money well above any commitment to customers or service. By far the worst experience we have had of lack of communication, unprofessionalism and a lack of respect from a hospitality business in NZ. An extremely disappointing and frustrating experience from an accomodation provider who doesn’t seem to care.

Saya menginap di salah satu pangsapuri motel serba lengkap di Napier Beach Kiwi Holiday Park and Motels. Pada masa yang sama terdapat ramai orang dengan khemah dan rumah bergerak/berkhemah.
Lokasinya sangat baik kerana ia betul-betul di pantai dan cukup jauh dari SH1 supaya ia benar-benar tenang dan tanpa bunyi bising.
Sangat dijaga oleh pengurusan yang mesra. Amat disyorkan.

My suite at harbour view was just what I needed. With a beautiful view and very reasonable room, I now feel refreshed. The spa bath and high pressure shower was great. The room comes with full Sky TV and outdoor furniture for the balcony. The room was spotless when I arrived. While the building is outdated, I saw two contractors painting today, so I feel the owner is working on updating and improving this which is great to see. Interestingly, I picked this motel because the room was a great price. I normally expect to see something wrong when this happens, but I was pleasantly surprised. Thank you harvourview for a wonderful stay!

This older but well-maintained property is ideally located in Napier. It is within walking distance of the old downtown and a number of very good restaurants; it also faces Hawke's Bay (some rooms probably have an ocean view). It was surprisingly quiet despite being on the main street by the water. The owners are very helpful and friendly. The room was spacious and comfortable, with a good kitchenette that we used daily for breakfast. The room was little quirky, in a fun way. The bedroom included a giant bathtub that reminded me of something from a honeymoon suite in the Pocono Mountains. There was also a separate bathroom that included a shower. For wine lovers, the motel is a short drive from the greatest concentration of high end cellar doors (tasting rooms) in Hawke's Bay. This facility met our needs well.

I booked a whole cabin for myself. There was a double bed and 4 bunk beds connected to a bathroom and kitchen/living room. There was a picnic table outside on the verandah and a car space just outside. The kitchen is well provided for with oven and gas hobs. There's toaster, kettle, fridge etc. ... I only boiled some eggs! It would be comfortable for a family in good weather and there were BBQs on site. Slept well but limited space for clothes if 6 people on site. There is a restaurant on site ... ”The Storkey” ... but I did not use. Easy to find shops a mile down the road.

We had a difficult start to our 2 night stay. We arrived at 11.30am after our flight to find the door locked. After using the after hour button the door open & we waited 10 minutes before the lovely house keeper helped us to store our luggage. Reception opens at 12 noon, a note on the reception desk would help to inform guests. We had a great size room which included a very comfortable 2 seater recliner & a desk with a chair! A comfortable king size bed & a great shower. The aircon system is unusual where it is connected to the room above & below your room, the first night the aircon turned off & we couldn't get it to turn back on, the second night was fine. The hotel is on a busy road but it is quiet at night. It is a ten minute walk to anywhere, supermarket, take away, beach & shopping.

This is the perfect place to stay to complete your Art Deco experience in Napier. The hotel has been thoughtfully updated to 21st century standards without losing any of its period charm. We stayed in a Queen Room which was compact but had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. Comfortable bed,good pillows and fresh linen. Tea and coffee making facilities. Mugs and pretty blue tea cups in keeping with the era. Iron and Ironing board. The bathroom was tight but had good lighting for makeup application and good water pressure. Ate at the restaurant twice and were happy with our meals. 10% discount as we were hotel guests. Attentive service from our wait staff. Parking is offsite but staff at reception were more than happy to store our suitcases in the luggage room while we collected our car. Parking $15:00 per night. No issues at check in or checkout. Central location. Would recommend.

PPengguna TetamuVery clean and quiet. WiFi, while free would not allow streaming, and access to some other general sites such as NZ Parliament. So used mobile data. Some utensils and cockery need updating and replacing e
g. chipped cockery and missing spoons. No Sky Movie channels and one documentary channel - but plenty of sports channels.
Only the plus side friendly greeting from reception and good value for money deal. Bed was comfortable, and not much noise from road. The small courtyard out the back was nice to sit in.

We stayed here based on the positive reviews but unfortunately we didn’t get much of the same experience. The cleaning was pretty average - there was some sort of sticky residue on the toilet seat in several places. There were short hairs on the bed sheets and we wondered if they were clean. The throw blanket on the end of the bed was dirty (also no spare blankets for a cold night either). The curtains were disgusting. It’s in need of some attention as it’s looking very tired. As mentioned, the curtains were filthy. There were heaps of dings and marks on the walls - don’t think I’ve ever seen so many in a hotel room. Some of the drawers were hard to open and shut so need fixing. The push button on the bathroom bin was broken so it had to be opened manually. In the main area there was no proper signage for lifts, etc. We found the cost quite expensive for what it was. Unsure if there is meant to be a sea view but there wasn’t unless you stood out on the deck and then you could see a glimpse. The room was very tired as mentioned. The cleaning was average. Parking was ok but a bit tight. Customer service ok. I think we’d possibly stay again after a revamp.

Really surprised by the recent negative reviews for this motel, as we had a good experience, albeit we only stayed for one night so didn't have long to appreciate it and didn't need to use the kitchenette. We arrived at 1215 and were very grateful to find that our 1st floor ocean front room with spa bath was available, well before the stipulated check in time, as we were booked to be picked up by the Grape Escapes Vineyard Tour 15 mins later and had anticipated only being able to leave the car there. When we got back to the motel early evening we used the washer and dryer facilities and also enjoyed the lovely spa bath at the back of the room which felt like a real treat. The room itself was nicely decorated and spacious. We then headed out for dinner and managed to get a late table at the very nice Hunger Monger restaurant, which is about 15mins walk into the town. We walked into town again first thing in the morning and enjoyed breakfast at the Albion Canteen and had a quick look around town at the art deco buildings. With what little time we had we enjoyed the ocean view from the hotel. The beach is stony so not really one to sit on. The hotel has its own car park via a driveway that goes through to the back, and is also accessible from the parallel road behind. The roads are very quiet at night so no issues there. We enjoyed our short but sweet stay and would be happy to recommend the hotel, although as it was part of a month's touring package I don't know what the rate was that we paid.

NNikkiVasiliouJust stayed at the Palm City Motor Inn with husband and two young children. The room we had was split over two levels, with twin room for children and bathroom upstairs and our double bed/ living/ kitchen and a separate shower room downstairs. No sofa with the double in living space but no big deal was glad the children were in separate space upstairs. After kids were running around inside I noticed their socks were filthy and couldn’t understand why. Anyway turns out after wiping the kitchen Lino and looking at the carpets both were absolutely filthy. Like black when wiped with a wet cloth. Then when it came to bath time for the children I had to look twice when I saw bath scum around the entire edge of the bath and had to properly clean this. Made me feel a bit sick the disgusting condition of the place on close inspection. Sack the cleaners I say. Would definitely not stay again.

PPengguna Tetamu Our family of 4 stayed in 2 rooms for 5 nights. Good location- easy walking distance to town, cafes and waterfront. Very helpful with storage of our bikes in their board room as all bike lockers were full. One very disappointing point was that the covered pool was closed (due to covid) which was the main reason that we chose this place (it was open when we booked). When I asked why (as according to Covid orange settings - all pools: covered and outside can be used at this level), the reply was that management of this particular motel had decided that for the safety of customers, they would keep it closed- esp as they were not a mandated motel. She explained that extra precautions needed to be put in place. I queried this, as they asked to see our vaccine passports when we arrived. The person I spoke with said this was because we were from Auckland. I am not sure of the relevance- as the whole of NZ is currently at orange (Northland was still in red at the time of writing). I asked when they would open it—and the reply was that management would re-evaluate. It seems strange that the covered pool has to be closed, but fine for the restaurant to be open.

PPengguna TetamuNot too impressed with this place. The lobby is so small that when a large group arrives, as we did, we couldn't all get in the door with our lugguge. Even when you're on your own, the two lifts are so close to the front door, that the automatic doors keep opening & closing whilst you wait. Ridiculous. The Dining Room only has one small toaster for the whole of breakfast service, resulting in long queues & long waits. My room was large & comfortable, but the bathroom tiny. The location of the hotel is good, with many rooms having a sea-view (through the Nordic pines) and it's close to downtown with its pubs & bars. OK for one night.

PPengguna TetamuOvernight stay, tipping down with rain so we were happy to collect food and eat in our very comfortable family unit - I'd booked a studio but we were given a bigger room, didn't take advantage of the spa bath but it was tempting. The kitchen was well equipped, bed was comfortable, shower pressure really excellent (just what you need after a day's driving. We were able to have a good walk along the waterfront next morning, the Beach Front Motel is well situated with access to tourist attractions. One small point - in the upstairs big units be careful of the top step, we put a dining chair on that step, it would be very easy to forget the step-down is there and would be easy to fall.

PPengguna TetamuWe booked one night here on a whistle stop trip through Napier, it did exactly what we needed. The check in was good and it was very nice speaking to the friendly man at the front desk, he made us feel very welcome. The units are at the back of the pub and don't look that great from the outside, but are exceptionally clean. Our room did feel a bit tired, but the bathroom was on the newer side and our AC unit worked well. I've dropped some points from the rating due to: open style shower tends to make everything in bathroom wet; and the kettle plug couldn't reach any plug point in the kitchen - we were therefore plugging it in on the floor. All in all a good place to stay, unfortunately the pub and restaurant were closed on our stay (just after NYE) otherwise I could imagine that would make this an even better place to stay.
