The greatest difficulty was checking in, as the kitchen cupboard was bare. There was no clerk, simply a note with incorrect spelling, which I deciphered and called a clerk from the Holiday Inn Express. He was helpful and explained that the hotel I was at was no longer employed there. The room was fine, but wrestling luggage up the stairs required the strength of Hercules. I managed. There was also no one there the next day, but Geraldine from the next hotel proved very helpful. I even asked her to assist me with dropping off a package at the post office, which hopefully she accomplished. The hotel was absolutely fine, but the service could certainly have been better.
Nice and modest hotel.
Suitable for the night before a flight.
Free parking. Free shuttle to the airport. A short drive to a shopping center, gas stations, car wash, restaurants, etc.
I was recently had a partial ceiling collapse in my Condo that forced me to find a place to stay for about two months. This property was an excellent accommodation for what I needed. My single room was more than adequate, with a Kitchen area that more than met my needs. The room was very clean. Bed was very comfortable, as was the reclining chair. The staff was excellent, especially Betty and Nelly at the Front Desk. Never had a problem getting fresh towels, garbage bags, or toiletries. Note that this is more of an Extended Stay (as the Name says), no frills hotel. There is no Pool, No Fitness Room, No Ice Machines (because they do have Ice Cube Trays in the Freezer in the Room). The only Breakfast offerings were Coffee/Tea/Hot Chocolate from 6am-9:30. Instant Oatmeal (Hot Water available), Granola Bars & Muffins were also available. I found this very adequate. There are a couple of vending machines, as well as Pay Washing Machines & Dryers available. Housekeeping is available only once every two weeks, thio The only problems I encountered were with other guests, which the staff did there best to handle. ******** was periodically being smoked in the stairwells. There was a Domestic Violence Dispute one night where the Police had to be called in. The Elmhurst Police do make regular rounds, which is reassuring. But the only surveillance cameras I saw were on the First Floor, near all the entrances. Someone emptied alot of garbage in the Parking Lot one night, but I will say that the Maintenance staff did a very good job of cleaning that up, and keeping the grounds looking pretty good overall during my stay. I would definitely stay here again if I needed temporary lodging for a few days or more.

This is the best hotel to stay at if you have an early morning or late night flight. It was very clean and well-managed and it served our purposes.
We will use it every time we take a late night trip to Asia which we do 4 times a year at present. We were very pleased.
I've never seen another hotel in the Wyndham portfolio that demands a $100 deposit on check-in! This hotel, in addition to having your credit card info, demands a deposit, and they don't give you a receipt. They ask you to sign a paper saying that you paid a deposit, rather than providing a receipt. They seem to think this is normal practice! I've stayed in hotels in Ukraine, Ireland, England, Kenya, Uganda, Qatar, Ethiopia, Canada and the USA, and this is the only hotel that asks for a deposit. It certainly doesn't give a customer the sense of being welcome. Rather, it gives the impression that most of their clients are deadbeats, so they treat everyone like deadbeats. The rooms are relatively comfortable, but have no coffee, tea, microwave or fridge (all standard items in hotels in this price range). They don't provide breakfast, but do provide a brown-bag snack that was nearly inedible. We stayed here a few months ago, and promised that we would never come back, but the airline booked us in here. When I recognized the hotel, I told my wife, ”I hope they messed up our reservation. If they did, we will find some other place.”

I traveled to Elmhurst on business and stayed in this hotel. It is an older hotel but cozy enough. The hotel was clean and the staff very professional and friendly. I really appreciate the attention to detail in my room. I actually met the housekeeper, Anthony. He was cleaning my room when I came back to the hotel to get some things I needed later in the afternoon. I really appreciate the attention to details in the cleanliness of my room he provided and was very friendly and professional. He had a vibrant and positive demeanor. I travel quite a bit on business and occasionally meet the housekeeping staff and it is rare to meet someone that takes pride in their work and can exhibit through their personality. He is an asset to your hotel. I would recommend staying at this hotel if you are visiting Elmhurst.
Narda is such a cheerful and positive woman ! I’ve stayed two separate weeks and every time I’ve seen her she was always so polite , helpful and gave off amazing friendly energy. Even after a long day at work barely wanting to converse with anyone and just get in my comfortable hotel bed , her energy would make me stop and chat with her every time! Seriously 10/10 customer service , I’m surprised she works at the front desk . I’d for sure say MANAGER MATERIAL !! Thank you so much for the pleasant stay , she was the reason I chose to book this hotel for a second stay.
My wife, daughter and I booked this hotel to drive in to Chicago for a concert coming from STL. We arrived and got our room around 3 in the afternoon, dropped off our bags, changed and left within 10 minutes to catch the train into the city. We got back to the hotel around 2:15 AM after the concert, food and a train ride back. When we got there our room key would not work. No big deal, we went and asked for a new one, well the 2nd one did not work either, went back and asked for another, 3rd key did not work either, went back to office and the guy on duty, who was too preoccupied with his phone, finally got up and went to try it. He 1st walked the wrong way to our room, after I directed him to our room, he could not get the door either. All we wanted was to get our stuff and leave at this point. His solution was to put us in another room until the morning and deal with it then. I was livid at this point and demanded that we get in our room to get our stuff so we could leave. He must have called somebody else after I raised my voice because he came back out and told us the room was open. We ran to our room to get our things and get them in the car. I went back to the office to ask for a refund seeing as we had not used the room and he was basically holding our things hostage for an hour at this point. He said he would not. I argued with him and he said he called a manager who would be there in 10 minutes. While we were waiting, we saw 2 cop cars roll up. Ol' boy had called the cops on us and told them we were trying to fight him. The police told him we were right and he owed us a refund but they couldn't make him. We ended up leaving without a refund and drove back to STL that night/morning. NEVER will I go there again. Rude, unclean place with bugs, rats and the rooms smelled of **** and cigarettes.
