Stayed here one night on NYE, along the road, with spouse and two kids, in a 2Q 1-bedroom suite. Arrived late and left semi-early so only had a brief experience, but, the stuff I can say: --Rooms were typical Homewood 2-room setup, plenty spacious. --While the rooms had all the right stuff, they are a little tired. Lots of little dents/scratches/wear-and-tear, things not quite 100% functioning as intended but nothing big. The window HVAC unit leaked a little bit onto the rug, but just a tiny bit. Really just needs a little TLC. --Location was convenient from the highway. --Breakfast area was well-spaced, offerings were a little spartan but that's pretty universal nowadays. --Staff were universally friendly and helpful. --Rate was reasonable for the room type and amenities. COVID NOTES: masks required here, and people seemed to be doing so, both staff and guests. Didn't get a serious look at the place but I feel safe recommending it.
We could not have been more surprised when we found a sympathy note and a tray of crackers, cheese, fruit, and a split of wine upon returning to our room the day after a family gathering at the hospital grieving our brother’s death. We have stayed at this hotel many times when visiting our brother in Gaithersburg and every time the staff has been friendly, professional, competent, and attentive. Great location, great staff, good food, nice bar.
We have stayed here more than once when visiting family for Christmas. The hotel is clean and the staff is friendly. The shower worked so-so. When you pull up the knob to turn on the shower head, a lot of the water still came out of the tub faucet. It was noisy at night at times as cars liked to rev their engines late at night. The location has many restaurants nearby as well as shops and a movie theatre. The only main complaint I have is the obnoxious heavy fragrance that greets you the moment you walk into the hotel lobby. Even if you don't have a fragrance allergy, it smells like you have a car freshener shoved up your nose. I don't have a fragrance allergy, but I'm becoming more sensitive to them as their use is commonplace in some public bathrooms, etc. during and post Covid. I'm guessing they are sanitizers laden with fragrance. Fortunately, the fragrance wasn't in our room until the housekeeping staff vacuumed the hallway on our fourth day here. Within seconds, the noxious fragrance filled our room and I was sitting on the far side of the room by the window. I stuffed a towel under the door but the minute you open the door you hit a wall of heavy fragrance. These synthetic fragrances are proven carcinogens and endocrine disrupters. I can't wait until we check out tomorrow morning. If you are sensitive to fragrances or prefer not to breathe toxins, I don't recommend staying here. I would rate this four stars but because of the unhealthy strong fragrance, I deducted two stars.
Great place for your next event! I needed to schedule an event for 50 in Gaithersburg with attractive lunch options. This property exceeded my expectations with quick and comprehensive event planning support, great menu, free parking, modern and attractive meeting space with an enormous lounge and patio that faced the lake on the 2nd floor. Menu options were plentiful and reasonably priced. Selected several sandwiches which were large artisan creations, salads and desserts that were enjoyed by all. IT and Audio-Visual equipment worked perfectly too! The staff went above and beyond with excellent communication and service delivery making it a great experience. Thank you Jordan, Jessa, Sarah, Carmen and Almaz for your indispensable service!
We have stayed at this hotel many times over the past years. We love the location of the hotel and the close proximity to the shops and restaurants at Rio and Crown. Check in was done by a friendly agent at the Desk with a name tag that indicated his name was Juan. Juan was very warm and friendly welcoming us to the hotel. Although he didn’t recognize my status on Marriott Bonvoy (Titanium) he did ask if we wanted points or a food item from the sundry shop as our Bonvoy welcome gift. He could have enhanced the check in experience by utilizing our name and explaining the breakfast times. Signs were posted in the elevator and at the desk that listed the breakfast times and housekeeping procedures. Stay over housekeeping is on request and is a room tidy, make the bed, new towels, trash removal and amenity refill. Breakfast: I am not fond of the new breakfast offerings. Pre packaged waffles and sausage biscuits. I am on a keto diet and there are just two many carbs on this breakfast to start the day. Packaged cereal, instant oatmeal that you add hot water, cold cheddar biscuits. Yogurt was available in the refrigerator. Everything was high in carbs. Neither scrambled or hard cooked eggs were available. I missed them. I noted many other guests inquiring about where were the eggs. All of the attendants on the buffet were both friendly and hard working and kept the buffet stocked and the tables cleaned. Special kudos to Dolores who was very hospitable on Monday morning, management should commend her for her hard work and big smiles. Well, to my surprise on Monday and Tuesday they had the hard cooked eggs available and instead of the waffles and they offered egg white frittatas. I heard many negative comments on the breakfast with guests looking for English muffins, toast or bagels. Housekeeping: Our room was spotless clean and I noted that pads and pens have been added to the guest room. The bath amenity was the bulk dispensers on the wall and one small bar of soap at the sink. Shower was a tub shower and the water pressure and temperature perfect however the sink faucet had a very low water pressure and the stopper did not hold water for the morning shave. I appreciate that they are doing room tidy although on the second day the room attendant forgot to refill the coffee supplies. The Front Desk attendant at night Alison was very friendly and hospitable. She engaged everyone as they came in from the entrance warm smile. She did well to find a commonality to build a rapport for conversation. She is a natural with hospitality and should be commended for her excellent service. Another nice stay and we look forward to returning to this hotel on our next visit to Gaithersburg.
We stayed overnight and enjoyed this very recently renovated hotel. It's bright, spacious, and welcoming. The modern decor is a bit minimalist but the bed, room appointments, and bath were all first-rate. And the price is reasonable. One minus: the bathroom has a motion-activated light; if you get up during the night to use the bathroom, the light comes on with blinding blindness that is disorienting and can make it difficult to get back to sleep.
Our first time at this hotel. During our travels I have learned that a hotel is a hotel is a hotel but the heart of a hotel is in it's service and hospitality. We enjoyed the hospitality at this Marriott TownePlace Suites in Gaithersburg, MD. It starts with the General Manager Andrew who checked us in and welcomed us to the property. He was very hospitable and we truly felt like guests during our entire stay. He did well to thank us for our loyalty to Marriott, used our name whenever he saw us during the week. He explained housekeeping and the hours of the breakfast buffet and offered us our gift of points or item from the sundry area. Breakfast buffet was always opened on time. I liked the egg patty (fried eggs) vs the usual scrambled eggs. The breakfast meat was turkey or pork sausage. There were hard cooked eggs and cheddar cheese slices. The waffle machine was available and a real toaster that worked. Wheat bread, bagels and English muffins were available along with yogurt and fresh fruit. Cereals were available including the kids favorite - Fruit Loops. Our room was clean and we enjoyed the bottle of water and cookies as we entered our room. I didn't like the layout of the television. A couple of issues were reported to the General Manager, the bathroom exhaust fan was very loud and the toilet didn't fill quickly after flushing. In the middle of the night the large shampoo bottle fell off from where it was attached to the wall and crashed into the tub scaring us a bit. Although I didn't get everyone's name we did meet a couple of other associates that were very friendly and hospitable, Hunter and Earl. Both should be commended for their hospitality and insuring warm cookies were available in the lobby in the morning. The breakfast area is small I suggest getting up early to insure seating. We didn't use the fitness room but it is small as well. Location is good close to a small shopping center with Panera and an Asian restaurant and a CVS drug store. Parking is ample and there is no charge for parking. Wifi worked great. If your travels bring you to Gaithersburg MD we recommend this hotel.

WWinifred MakawaOur stay was brief so we didn’t tap into any services, we booked our room last minute and we were just happy that the room was clean and enough space for two people! 2 comfortable queen beds, shower pressure was great, and located close to restaurants. Would def recommend

PPengguna TetamuI am not sure where to start. My overall stay was ok, until I found out how they bill you when you stay for long term. Usually when you work you are paid every two weeks. When I made my reservation I was told ”Oh yes you can pay every week or at the end of the month” I said that will work for me, but that is not the case this hotel charges you for a week in advance. When I was billed I told the manager my payday is not until the end of the month and I just paid last week. I asked If I can pay weekly until I am paid he refused and said I will have to leave if I cannot pay the full balance of $627.00, really!!!!!!!!!!. This is how ”Extended Stay” treats their customers, my rate was around $70.00 a night plus the cost of my pet and tax. I was ok with that, my complatient is that they lie to you giving you false misleading information so you can hurry up and make a reservation. Do the math for a week my total was $627.00 of course I did not have the money so I had to call my dad to help me out. Extended Stay needs to revisit their ”policy” as the manager said over and over again it's our ”policy”. Will I come back for another stay..... maybe but I will NEVER stay long term because the way they lie to you is not good. The one thing that made it even worse when it is ”so called” time to pay for your ”week” they call your room phone and your personal cell phone, if you do not answer then they come and knock on your door and try to make entry to the room, unacceptable you should not treat your customers like you are a criminal because they are ”money hungry” I am looking into filing a complaint to Extended Stay company because each property is privately owned under the Extended Stay name. The front desk keep on reminding you oh please leave us a review...... Well here you go......
