We booked because of the weather. We have since booked a second night, again, because of the weather. Everyone has been very accommodating!! Even having breakfast available past the scheduled time because local restaurants are closed or closing because of the weather

I’ve read a lot of bad reviews and decided to take a look into this hotel myself. In the end, I was VERY happy. Front desk was so nice! Chidera had helped me for my first night stay. If I needed something, all I had to do was ask. She was right on top of it! If I had an issue, they fixed it ASAP! The pool was nice. The beds were comfortable. It’s mayfly season so of course there’s going to be a million bugs outside, not much you can do with the mayflies. I had a complaint about noise and the Night Shift person took care of it right away. Very happy with my stay. Would 10/10 recommend.

I highly recommend staying away from this hotel. I had no intention of writing a negative review but I have never been treated worse at a hotel in my life. My family and I were traveling to Port Clinton for my brother's wedding. He had selected this hotel almost a year in advance due to its proximity to the wedding venue and gifted the hotel with many block room reservations. You can imagine my horror and surprise when we arrived close to 11pm to find a note on the front counter saying the water would be completely shut off the next day (see attached photo). I was in disbelief and didn't know what to say. There we no Ubers or taxis around that late, no other hotels to check into, and the rest of my entire family and extended family would be checking in the next day. To make matters worse, we were never given a single notification of this trip-altering catastrophe ahead of time. Not one email, phone call, or text. We had no choice but to check in and hope for the best. The next day the water was off over an hour longer than was originally planned. The bride and groom had to get ready off site. The entire purpose of a hotel is to provide basic needs you would usually get at home. I thought this problem would be easily rectified but when we requested reimbursement for simply one night, we were told that we had the option to not check in and go elsewhere. As I said before, this was not feasible and not possible at the time. It is a poor excuse so they don't have to refund any money. As a manager you do not make your hotel's problem your guests' problem. The hotel and its management failed miserably at showing even the most basic level of compassion. In addition to the fact we were not reimbursed, I showed every courtesy to Alicia, the general manager, and received none in return. I kindly emailed her and her assistant general manager, Sylvia, and received no response for a week. I followed up the email and still no response. I had to eventually call them and that's when they explained their position. If you have another choice please do not subject yourself to this poor hotel and instead choose another location.

While on our road trip, we stopped at this friendly hotel. We found the three basics for a stay were covered very well; CLEAN, COMFORTABLE & AFFORDABLE. This hotel is in transition of being updated and the owner is doing a good job to accomplish that. So expect some of the furnishings and decor to be dated and older. If anything is unusable.. just politely ask the front desk and they will attend to it. We enjoyed the outdoor unheated pool and the simple included breakfast which are two extra amenities you usually find in pricier accommodations. So keep up the good work STAY INN and THANKYOU for a pleasant night..

The cottage we rented was not at all like the website NOT EVEN CLOSE. It was awful. When we first arrived I went into the hotel that sits in front of the cottages and thought that is where we checked in. No staff was in the lobby and went to look for someone to ask and found a very rude person working in a small dinning area that did fortunately direct me where the office was. To be honest what little I saw of this hotel should have also been the first ”red flag” warning of what was yet to come. Another ”red flag” after arriving we were told we were the only ones there (and there were many cottages in a row on the property). After stepping in the cottage that was shown to us by the owner, it was dirty, smelled, very very run down and again not all what is shown on the website. I know cetain websites do not always show what is the actual reality of places but this was not even close. Right away after seeing the cottage I complained and we were shown a ”Villa”. This was not much better. My husband I were so upset with this after traveling hours, we went to try to find other lodging in the area but could not. Our mistake was not asking to see the cottage first BEFORE checking in and paying the balance due. We came back ask for our money back and were given our check back. Not our deposit back. Warning...the owner wants a check not cc. I should have taken the advice from other Trip Adviser complaints and not gone there. We have called twice and requested a refund of our deposit since there were no other reservations so it was not like they were holding a place for us. No one ever answer the phone. You leave a message and no one calls you back. I did see the view of the lake from a distance, it appeared to be nice but we never got down that far to see it up close.
