Been here many many times over about 20 years... Mostly all for work, once for personal. The many times of coming here for conferences for work since the very early-2000's made me come to love the historic ambiance and value of the beauty. I then brought my wife back for her birthday a few years ago and enjoyed that visit too. Most recently I came for another work trip and everything, from checking in to checking out, the rooms, property, the bar, etc were great. Their valet staff is always on-point, engaging, helpful, and sincerely friendly - As they should be, as they're the first impression of service of such a property. On this most recent visit I was fortunate to get a newly refurbished room. The room had new decor and tile, etc, but really needed a re-design of the layout. The bathroom door swings open to the toilet and if you want to use the sink, you need to play a game of opening the door while walking around it and the toilet. The TV's need a revamp too - They really need to adopt the hospitality type channel management systems other hotels use, with streaming web-based services, like Pluto, etc. The bed was great... comfy and clean. Housekeeping could use some improvement, there were hairs in the bathroom (on towels and around the toilet). The food at the restaurants, bar, and catering are always great here... nothing has changed since my first time regarding this. Overall - Great visit! I'll definitely be back! Oh... And those people who gave a 1 star - Those are extremely rare, non-typical instances that a super-sensitive person experienced... they take to being a keyboard warrior in hopes others will jump on their bandwagon - Read the majority of recent reviews, they're really good. This place is solid, definitely a 4 to 5 star place. Though I'm only giving 4 this time, I've had many 5 star visits here... NEVER A 1 STAR! Those whiners need to find another outlet... and a teddy bear!
Pros: the friendly and helpful employees encountered at every turn, especially the front desk clerk at check-in on Friday evening, April 19 whose name I wish I had gotten (she and I did enjoy briefly comparing notes on our shared hometown of Danville, Virginia, in case that rings any bells for those supervisors reading this review; this clerk is a gem and deserves a raise!). Moving over to the guest room, the bed was comfortable, and the kitchenette was nicely equipped. That’s pretty much it. Cons: after bringing all of our luggage up to the room, I discovered that there was no curtain on the window except for a sheer blind through which the parking lots shone brightly. There was a curtain rod, but it was missing its curtain. (The helpful desk clerk luckily located a curtain for us to use; otherwise we would have been in a tight spot, as the hotel was fully booked such that we couldn’t have changed rooms, and the sheer blind was totally inadequate for filtering any kind of light.) Also missing from our room was the ottoman/coffee table that should have sat in front of the couch; we know this as a family member was staying in another otherwise-identical room on the same date, which we got to see, ottoman and all. Another missing item—believe it or not!—was a properly-sized comforter blanket for our room’s king-sized bed. Its comforter was at least one size too small, barely covering just the flat top of the mattress, so as we slept, one person was constantly getting uncovered as the other person turned over in bed. Where in the world could all of these items have gone, and why were they not put back in order before our room was rented, especially with no alternate rooms available?! Elsewhere in the room, on one of the bedside tables a brightly-lit digital alarm clock displayed the wrong time, and yet the mechanism for resetting the time was hidden behind a LOCKED rear panel on the clock which was labeled something on the order of “only adjustable by hotel staff.” The other bedside table’s lamp had a burned-out lightbulb. The dishwasher’s exterior was stained with something that looked like coffee or mud splashed all over and not cleaned. The bathroom had peeling wallpaper and one of the towel hooks was pulling off the wall, plus the base of the shower enclosure as it met the bathroom floor was filthy. The shower enclosure appeared to have been originally fit with a sliding glass door or similar, as the frame was present…but instead of a door, an ill-fitting shower curtain (too long for the opening) and a rusted curtain rod had been installed. It was so Jerry-rigged that the entire curtain rod and curtain came crashing to the floor, unprovoked, during one of our showers. Finally, the ground floor was in a state of complete chaos first during the evening, with what I gathered was an overnighting sports team loudly hanging out and tying up an entire long table adjacent to the front desk with dozens of goodie bags or similar; and second during the mi

Stayed 1 week for work as a Diamond member. The Candlewood Suite and the Holiday Inn are really just share one hotel. The front desk people are new and had difficulty with the computer and didn’t seem to know much about the amenities and benefits of different IHG status level. The hotel seems to be undergoing renovation and looks fairly new. PROS: Fairly big suite with nice kitchen (large fridge and microwave), new looking and clean room, fairly quiet, strong toilet, nice hot breakfast at the restaurant/bar (comp for Diamond member). CONS: very weak shower water pressure, terrible toilet paper, was not rewarded Green bonus points for not using housekeeping. Overall, more good than bad, but they really need to do something about the shower water pressure.
Please stay at this hotel!!! The staff here was PHENOMENAL!!! My entire trip I was catered to and made sure I was very well taken care of! The amenities are wonderful and I can’t recommend this hotel enough to anyone who will listen! They have a shuttle to and from the airport, the food is great! And the front desk staff always made sure I felt comfortable and well taken care of! If you’re staying in Roanoke, this hotel is the best! And there’s a mall across the street!

We worked with the Courtyard Sales staff to secure a room block for out-of-state guests visiting our facility for a week-long training and everything was handled perfectly! The Courtyard staff were super kind, courteous, and immediately addressed any issues we encountered. The rooms were all clean and well-stocked with amenities, plus the in-house dining was delicious. There is also a shuttle that helped transport all of us from the airport straight to the hotel which was a life saver for most of the guests who didn’t have rental cars lined up. I highly recommend anyone looking for a hotel to place incoming guests of your companies to contact the Courtyard and see how they can accommodate your needs!

TterisherbyPassing thru on our way to TN, spent the night at this hotel. Pros: Room was very clean! Wrap around large balcony also clean, and breakfast was basic, but good. Front desk friendly. Cons: Please make the parking easier to understand on how to get out with the tiny little card you have to peel off and place on a ticket?? Did not like that set up at all and was not explained to us at all. Finally, a man in the garage I think who worked there came over and told us what to do. Also, I know bigger cities have the issue with homeless, but it was really sketchy and needs better security. Felt a little scared. We also went to a local upscale restaurant across the street, again came out and 7pm at night way too sketchy, come on Roanoke, VA save your beautiful city!
PPengguna TetamuThe customer service and breakfast was good. But the BED was HORRIBLE. it squeaked every time you moved on it. After a long 10hr drive I felt exhausted and just wanted a decent nights sleep, Well I felt worse when I woke up. The bed had to be old, ceiling in the bathroom was peeling i have pictures and the counter in the bathroom was never cleaned. There were old water marks on the bathroom sink. Its a good thing I travel with lysol wipes and a can of lysol. I have stayed at another springhill suites and did not have the same experience. Marriott really need to pay me for staying there. They also need to step up their game with ensuring all guest have a comfortable nights sleep. I will add photos later i took them on my business phone.
PPengguna TetamuIt’s was a great weekend in the city! We arrived early and were able to check in at 1030am a very big plus! The room was large and spacious all amenities were neatly placed throughout the room an adequate amount of towels and wash cloths provided! The front desk morning and evening hours were pleasant and so helpful! Lobby entrance clean, breakfast area clean, pool, business center, and gym all operational a big plus! The room, the visit, the stay were perfect, I highly recommend this property!
PPengguna TetamuThe staff was very friendly and professional. Room was clean. Check in was easly and quick. There was a soccer team staying at the hotel. They got a little noisy, as well as some kids running in the halls one night. The staff asked them to quiet it down both times. Never stayed in a hotel where that was done. Quietest hotel I have ever stayed in. Breakfast was you typical continental. The staff made sure the area was kept clean and food was available. Mentioned to the front desk the bathroom sink had a drip. She felt bad I didn't mention earlier. Was really not big deal. Location was perfect. Close to the airport. Would definitely recommend.

PPengguna TetamuWe stayed one night on our way elsewhere. The room itself appeared clean, sheets were soft, updated… the bathroom needed a bit of work. Mostly maintenance issues. The tub didn’t drain correctly while showering and part of the shower spout had no water coming from it. If there was an exhaust fan, it didn’t work and the bathroom stayed hot with the door closed. It just needed some attention. We slept well, the only issue was even with the curtains closed, light came in the side and hit the mirror in the room and reflected right on the bed. Just a little disconcerting when you woke during the night. Other than that, it was a quiet rest. Breakfast in the morning ends at 9:30 so you have to get up early if you want to get cleaned up before. They had eggs, sausage, biscuits, gravy and waffles (waffle maker, self serve) as well as cereal, yogurt, etc. There is no elevator, so if you’re on the second floor, you have to lug your luggage up. All staff we interacted with were friendly. I would probably stay again if needed.
PPengguna TetamuLong review ⚠️ Please read until the end. The evening we arrived at the hotel, my husband noticed the toilet was not flushing correctly. It began to fill up like it was going to overflow. We called the front desk and the lady told him there was a plunger by the trash can outside the hotel. It was late so we just decided to go to bed, and deal with it in the morning. When we woke, I called the front desk again and told the guy my name and room number. I explained that our toilet was not working and also proceeded to tell us about the plunger. My husband went to retrieve the so called plunger. When he returned to try to use it, he realized the rubber part was broken. I told the guy it was broken. He said ”was it broken when we got it or did you break it?” I told him it was already broken. He said there was another one on the other side of the hotel, so my husband went to retrieve it. I said ”is there not a maintenance person available?” He said ”NO! I am the maintenance guy, the manager, and the front desk clerk.” I said okay. Now comes the fun part... The manager proceeded to tell me that I was lucky to have not been kicked out of the hotel the night before. When I asked what he was talking about, he said ”You had 2 male visitors last night and we have a strict no visitors policy!” I told him I absolutely did not have any visitors. He said, ”They knew you, your name, what you were driving.” I continued to argue with him that my husband and I did not arrive at the hotel until late. We got ready for bed and laid down. He said ”Yes he knew that and so did the 2 male visitors.” By this point, I was PISSED! I told him I would be down soon to check out I was done. Minutes later, he was knocking at our door. I let him in and told him the toilet was fixed. He asked if he could look at it and explain what happened. He explained that he had the wrong room and wrong person. We both said nothing. He said he would just shut up and apologized for the mix up again. By this point, I was so perturbed at the accusations he had made, all I wanted was to go home. He left and we finished gathering our things. My husband locked up and gave me the hotel key to go check out. I walked in to the lobby wanting to speak my mind before we left, but realized a young child was behind the desk with him. So, I gathered myself and tried to be as polite as I could be, not wanting to cause a scene in front of the child. He kept trying to explain how he messed up and he would make adjustments to our bill. I said ”I appreciate the apology,” took the bill and ran to my vehicle as it was snowing. My husband reviewed the bill and noticed we were credited.....wait for it... $10. Yes $10.00! We had to laugh about it and started our 2 hour drive home. I was a bit upset that our Valentine’s weekend getaway ended that way. I called Econo Lodge headquarters and placed a complaint against this hotel, but wanted to let you all know how disrespectful this manager was to his guests.
LLarkz99This is by far the filthiest hotel I've ever visited. As I arrived, another guest was requesting a room change because the room they gave her was disgusting. She returned when the new room given to her was also filthy. I found my own room to be a mess as well. The carpets were wall to wall stained. Every surface in the room was worn and greasy. Anything that could be broken was broken. The counter had gaping chunks of missing laminate, door hinges were busted, the iron was ripped out entirely. I only got into my room on the third try because the keys would not work and the worker had to assist me with his key. Upon entering, I turned around and left. I reported the hotel to the Roanoke Health Department due to its horrible uncleanliness. Big disappointment.
