PPengguna TetamuTevin and Carter were very helpful when I needed to make adjustments to my reservation through a third party. It was simple and quick to make changes. Everyone at the front desk greeted us. The room was quiet, and my kids enjoyed the stay as much as I did.
PPengguna TetamuEverything was excellent. Staff, cleanliness, the room. I was surprised that there was a kitchenette with dishes. There was not a view of the river, but the nearby arena shot off fireworks and I could see those from the room! There's a coffeeshop across the parking lot, though it wasn't needed since there's coffee available in the lobby. The breakfast included hot food items and several toppings like nuts and berries for either oatmeal or yogurt. Parking was very easy. It has a pool right off the elevator. The alarm clock was easier to set than most. The mattress was very soft. I like the rug under the sofa, which I believe is intended for dogs and would be easily washable. The TV had free Showtime. I would stay there again.
PPengguna TetamuFriendly staff. Clean quiet atmosphere, breakfast was great, always fully stocked. Price was a little high for the area but was worth it. Only negative thing was not having any vending machines, had to walk all the way to the front every time we needed a water.
PPengguna TetamuI can not believe this was not higher in the ratings; however, it is brand new so it is just starting to get reviews. I could not imagine staying anywhere else. This is a brand new hotel on Douglas the main street with good access by car or foot to most of the things you want to see. The room was great as well as the service, but the best part was the easy access to walk downtown and things like the riverwalk. In addition, there were several great restaurants that were easily reached from here. Finally, the breakfast here was fantastic. I was told I could park on the street as long as I was gone by 9:00 and I had a great space directly in front of the hotel. Loved my stay here and highly recommend it.
PPengguna TetamuThe check in and out was great and the front staff for both were great. The room was clean except for the tub having a little dirt in it but nothing major. My daughter, granddaughter and nephew slept great in the bed which was very comfortable. However, I didn't sleep well because my nephew was snoring so loud. My granddaughter slept through his snoring so I with that I will say the beds are comfortable. We didn't get a chance to try the breakfast because we checked out early but will try the restaurant on my next visit.
The young lady, Ryan, that was working the front desk, was great! The computer system was down but she still mannered to be happy and make sure the guest were as well. I had an issue with the washer not working and she took care of it, while taking care of everything else! Her smile and kindness to everyone was a great sight. She made everyone feel welcome
PPengguna TetamuI like to give good reviews. I like to give folks the benefit of the doubt on things. I will try and be balanced with this review. When I first walked in, I was greeted by the stench of cigarette smoke. Not a good start. The front desk clerk was not rude. He was cordial, but not overly friendly. Check in was smooth. I was not recognized as a Diamond Choice Rewards member. Not a huge deal, but other properties are good about that. No business center, but the clerk was very kind to make copies for me and did so quickly. On to the room. The positives - very spacious and a decent work area. The bed seemed clean and had no bed bugs - I checked. It was pretty easy to keep the room temperature consistent. Negatives - Hair in the tub. Need to do a better job. The carpet is ancient and showing lots of wear. There was peeling paint in the bathroom. Behind the entry door to the room was debris that looked to have been there for a long time. There were also ”interesting” characters hanging around the motel. I don't get intimidated, but I could see how some folks would. The motel is obviously in need of an upgrade to bring it up to Choice standards. It's just not there. I would probably stay again, but I would never allow my wife to stay there or even have her stay there with me. It's just not good enough. The place has potential, but it just isn't living up to high standards.
PPengguna TetamuWe were ”greeted” by an employee who didn't seem to understand basic customer service. He was vague with answers, and stopped himself halfway through telling about amenities to say ”well, you can read for yourself” as he shoved a piece of paper towards us. Strange. The real problems began when we got trapped in the elevator for over 20 minutes. When the staff finally arrived to assist us, they accused us of causing the problem (guess what - we didn't!). They made a few halfhearted attempts to open the door before leaving, ostensibly to call an elevator repair service. About 10 minutes later I called the front desk again to check on the status of the repair crew. When I asked how long the crew would take to arrive they refused to tell me what the repair crew said (I could hear someone in the background saying 30 minutes), just giving us a vague ”soon.” Rather than assisting us and our child, the desk staff members left us alone in their elevator until a guest found us and was able to free us. When we finally got back to our room the I immediately phoned the desk clerk. When I told her we were free, she had the audacity to get angry at me, telling us that the repair crew ”is already on their way.” She refused to discuss a refund, telling us we needed to ASK for a refund upon checkout. When we checked out I asked for our refund, as I had been instructed. The checkout clerk was unable to process our refund, telling us instead to contact the general manager (whom I had emailed the night before after the ordeal). About 12 hours later (nearly 24 hours after being trapped), I was finally able to get in touch with general manager (phone calls, text messages, and emails all went unanswered). Again, I was given vague promises that he would ”check into it.” As of today, almost 48 hours after being trapped in their faulty elevator, I am still waiting for a refund and apology. TLDR: Don't stay here!
