Fernhill House Hotel & Gardens

My first ever TripAdvisor review I wrote was for Fernhill when I got married in the Hotel 9 years ago and to celebrate my 9th year wedding anniversary myself and my wife had only one place in mind when we flew into Ireland. Booking is advised long in advance if you ever want a meal in the restaurant. I tried booking 2months in advance for my wedding anniversary day but couldn't so had to settle for the following Day. Resturant was very clean and well maintained, I think my wife did find some random bits of food on the floor under her chair though. Staff were very friendly and very helpful. The Menu was all looking amazing but my wife and I decided on the day special of Turkey and Ham with Stuffing. - The ham and turkey was amazing, well cooked, easily breaks apart and was moist enough to be just right. Veg and mash, gravy amd cranberry sauce that came with it added to the amazing main course. We over did it with extra fries and onion rings only because eating the same kind of meal in other restaurants helped "fatten" the meal. But was not needed at all with this. After the main we ordered a desert. We thought we would get a lighter option after the main really filled us up, so we both picked the Eton Mess. That was a mistake, in a great way. Most Eton Mess's we eat are cheaper variations of the desert and very dry. This one was truly amazing and very filling. Loaded with strawberries throughout mixed well with cream and meringues this desert was very filling and we both walked away full to brim. Im glad we went back to Fernhill to celebrate our anniversary and was great to see the place still going from strength to strength. Still highly recommended! **Sorry if pictures have rotated wrong way, it's a known bug with Tripadvisor for years.

Stayed for one night on my travels round. I called on the off chance and fortunately was able to book. Beautiful grounds with gardens that help supply the kitchen. My room was lovely and very comfortable. I had dinner there and had the best seafood chowder - would go back just for that! Staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. Couldn’t recommend it highly enough.

Hi guys, I have been meaning to message for the last year. We celebrated our wedding with ye on the 4th of August 2023. It was the most amazing day from start to finish. Fernhill staff were in a league of their own, everyone from the bar tenders to ann the wedding coordinator were just outstanding. Always asking if we needed anything, and checking in numerous times throughout the day. A year later all our friends and family are still raving about the day. The food was AMAZING, and Laura even took our little boy darragh for a walk around the gardens during the speeches. They were all just amazing. Leaving the hotel the morning after the wedding, felt like we were leaving friends. Thank you for everything. ESPECIALLY Ann, the wedding Co ordinater. She is outstanding at her job!! Keep doing what ye are doing, because it was the wedding of our dreams xxx

We got married in Fernhill House Hotel on the 7th Sept. From the moment of booking our date to the wedding itself, the whole experience was just excellent. Ann, the wedding coordinator is so professional and makes you feel at ease at all times. Absolutely nothing was a problem for her. The staff throughout the hotel are amazing, they know exactly what they are doing and could not do more for you. As it is a family run business, you will encounter a few members of the O’Neill family during your stay too. The hotel is so well run, as a wedding couple you can rest assure that everything & everyone will be looked after. All of our guests have spoken very highly of the hotel, the service, the staff, the grounds and very importantly the food. We can easily say that each guest was very pleased with their meals. We also had our day two in the hotel, we were looked after in the Woodfield Room which is the ideal location to hold a day two. Again, the food, the service and staff were all 5*. If you are on the look out for a wedding venue, I would make sure you visit Fernhill House Hotel and you will not be disappointed. It just ticks all the boxes with its beautiful grounds, gorgeous hotel, delicious food, exceptional staff, and highly professional service.

What a magical place , just here in the Fernhill House to Celbrate our daughter's wedding on September 14/24, if there every was perfection it would be Fernhill House. From the moment we arrived! To be honest, i couldn't single out one thing that stood out because once we entered the gateway to Fernhill was perfection, it was the outdoor wedding ceremony area, the drinks reception, the glorious gardens, the wedding ballroom, Oh my God the food, the various bars, the bedrooms but most of all the staff were a credit to the place. The only downside is that this magical weekend will end but what wonderful memories we have in Fernhill House ❤️

We recently had our wedding at Fernhill House Hotel and Gardens, and it was nothing short of magical. From the moment we first visited, we knew it was the perfect place to celebrate our special day. The gardens are simply stunning, providing a beautiful backdrop for photos and the ceremony itself. Walking down the aisle surrounded by such natural beauty made the day feel extra special. The staff were exceptional and truly invested in making sure every detail was perfect. Their professionalism and genuine care put us at ease throughout the entire planning process. The food was absolutely delicious! Our guests are still talking about how good the meal was. The presentation was perfect with something for everyone. The reception space was why we wanted to use fernhill the gardens on a sunny day couldn’t be topped for a drinks arrival it was beautiful and yet sophisticated, creating a wonderful atmosphere for dinner and dancing. Ann- the Wedding coordinator is just amazing! From every detail to silly question we had she always had an answer for us or made something work nothing was ever a problem. The day before the wedding we had dinner in the hotel with the bridal party which was just so special and the staff went above and beyond then too helping jn every single way, we cannot thank everyone enough. If you're looking for a venue with picturesque surroundings, outstanding service, and a truly personal touch, Fernhill House Hotel and Gardens is the place to be. They went above and beyond to make our day unforgettable. Thank you fernhill for making our dream wedding come to light 🥰❤️

Beautiful hotel and gardens with peaceful views and good vibes . Very clean hotel and friendly staff .Good food and drink very relaxing and great area to escape and spend time with friends 5 min walk into town where there is always something to do for all ages.

We just had our wedding at Fernhill and it was like a dream. The hotel and gardens are stunning, even with a bit of rain everything was perfect and picturesque! Everyone at Fernhill was so friendly, thoughtful, and supportive and the whole process from booking all the way up to the day itself was made easy for us. The wedding was flawless and we had the perfect day. All of our guests are still raving about the food, if we could do it all over again we would! Thank you to everyone at Fernhill for making our day so utterly perfect.

We stayed here for one night for a friend's wedding. The venue is absolutely stunning and the grounds are beautiful. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The only reason this isn't five star review, is because we were woken at 8am by building works directly outside our room - not ideal when you've been up until 3am at a wedding, I'm very surprised a venue that specialises in weddings would opt to do building works during the peak wedding season.
