Das Zimmer das wir hatten lag zwar zur Strasse und hatte einen kleinen Balkon, aber es war sehr gut isoliert und man hörte den Strassenlärm praktisch nicht. Ausserdem war eine sehr gute Klimaanlage vorhanden, so dass man keine Fenster öffnen musste. Ein leerer Kühlschrank war ebenfalls vorhanden, wo man seine mitgebrachten Getränke kühlen konnte. Der TV war etwas klein (Bett-TV). Dusche sauber (kleine Schimmelflecken). Das Frühstück musste man am vorabend bestellen, es wurde dann das gebracht, was man angekreuzt hatte. Kaffee und Saft wurde aber aufgefüllt. Sehr freundliches Personal.

A wonderful 6 nights spent doing a combination of business and leisure. Impeccable staff service including organising a hair dressing appointment at very short notice. Swimming pool and spa are excellent after long flights or long days working. A delight is the quality of food in the Marco Polo Restaurant. While Cluj has many restaurants within walking distance, we were so impressed by the flavours, textures and variety that we chose to eat in. A great convenience is that the restuarant is open for lunch and then across the afternoon into the evening so no hassle to eat whenever you need to. Breakfasts have a wide variety and there is something different each day which is a nice touch when staying for 6 days. Very comfortable bed with both softer and firmer pillows and lovely fluffy bath sheets. Front desk staff were helpful whether day or night shift and speaking English was no problem - there was always at least one person who was more than proficient. Location is excellent - 5 - 8 mins walk into the old city centre which gives an immediate sense of being in Cluj. A park with a lake nearby too. Many restaurants serving both traditional Romanian dishes and a wide variety to suit different palates and diets. We embarked on an ice cream tasting and found it not possible to try out all the many outlets. History abounds and many photo opportunities. We will be back and will be very glad to stay at DoubleTree again

We stayed here for 1 week. Our first room was next to the generator and we had to move but the staff were very understanding and moved us with no issues. The rooms are large, the hotel is being renovated and having peeked in the ones getting done up it'll be lovely when it's done. The hotel is on the center of town, right next door to a shop and has hotel parking behind. The spa is lovely and the staff are very helpful and speak great English. Would definitely come back.

My wife and I stayed twice at this hotel , August 2022 and August 2023 (Traveled from UAE). Perfect location next to Somesh River and across street from the Central Park, we stayed in a spacious suite on the 8th floor with a living area and second bathroom overlooking a very nice view of the Somesh River and the beautiful city of Cluj-Napoca. Breakfast was very good with a lot of varieties of food for every taste. Staff was friendly, kind and eager to please. We especially came to Cluj for a wedding which we attended on the second day of our arrival, party room of the hotel is amazing, everything was perfectly organized, food was very good and delicious . For sure we will come back to Cluj and stay at this hotel.

Liked · Location is within walking distance from the centre and old town, but it is still a 20-25 minute walk. Clean room. Average breakfast. The deep fried zucchini is very good. I had a room towards the yard and it was very quiet (both towards the outside as well as towards the hallway). Disliked · The hotel interior feels sterile and not cozy. Part of the reason for this is that the lighting in the hotel throughout is cold white and in the rooms the lights are much too strong (except bathroom, where it is not strong enough). Suggestion to management: hire a lighting consultant for advice how to change to warmer light to make the lighting work to the hotel's advantage. Also add a few plants here and there to reduce the sterile feeling. I missed fresh bread for breakfast, only toast was available. The music during breakfast was extremely cheesy, elevator style (maybe suitable for pensioners?). However, the real problem was that I was double charged for a one night stay. I was getting suspicious about payment issues already when the owner asked me if I wanted to change the credit card that I had used for the reservation through another website. (Was it to cancel my original reservation in order to avoid paying commission to them?) Since the credit card reservation for the second night was never cancelled even though we decided to stay only one night, I had to write and complain. Despite writing four e-mails about it (of course using the correct e-mail adress) I never got a response from the hotel. Finally I turned to my bank showing them the proof and the bank swiftly reimbursed me for the double payment.
