Aea the Coogee View

I have recently stayed at the Coogee view apar**ents and had the most horrific experience. (February 2024) I was VERY badly bitten by bed bugs!!!! I have decided to write this review in case the apar**ents have not taken the problem seriously enough to fully fumigate the apar**ent we stayed in and also thoroughly cleaned all the other apar**ents too. To be honest we didn’t find the apar**ent very clean in the first place and we have seen two others which were equally not cleaned to a high enough standard. I am worried that they may have taken short cuts to clean the apar**ent we stayed in and rented it out again quickly hoping the problem goes away. As we all know bed bugs are a nigh**are and not easy to resolve !!! We stayed in flat number 804 At first I didn’t realise where my bites snd rash came from as I had stayed one night in the country. Consequently, I continued to sleep on the same bed and every morning woke up worse. I washed my sheets one day but it didn’t help. I then thought to check under the mattress cover only to discover the bugs literally crawling on the surface. I felt sick to my stomach. The problem was I was there for a wedding and by the time I realised where I was getting bitten, I was a complete bitten mess. I had to go and buy a new dress to hide as much of my body as I could. I was staying with my son, daughter in law and 2 yr old granddaughter. Thank GD only my room was infested as it would’ve been horrendous if they’d been bitten too. Especially the baby! The pain snd itchiness was indescribable! The mental anguish was huge and the knock on effect horrendous. We had to get all our clothes washed in high temperatures which is not ideal for linens which need a cold wash. Then on returning home to London we had to re wash and steam our clothes and steam all the luggage to ensure that we hadn’t brought it back with us. I have been back just under a week and am still suffering with residual itchiness, which has required two drs visits to resolve. The apar**ents initially offered my only 50% refund which I obviously refused. They did then fully refund us for our stay which was the least they could do in the circumstances. I wish I’d asked them to pay for my dress and alterations as well and it was an added headache and expense I had not expected. Maybe they could still offer to do so🥴 The staff were kind and accommodating and did try their best to help us with the laundering of clothes and moving us to a new apar**ent. The apar**ents are very large but very simple. The second apar**ent was even more basic - the iron didn’t work and there was a shortage of drawer spaces and one draw in the cupboard already had a broken base. My advice to everyone is to always check your beds, linen, mattress covers and mattress before unpacking bags or sleeping on them. If you see tiny blood marks on linen that’s a sign a bug has been squashed onto it! Check for and black spot, the bugs are tiny and hard to see until the

The apar**ent is in desperate need of a refurbishment. There is nothing positive to say other than the view. The air conditioner had no cooling ability and ran on an automatic timer this meant when we went out, it turned off and we came back again to a stiflingly, hot apar**ent it also made for a very uncomfortably hot night because it kept turning off. When we called reception, to advise them of the issue. Their resolution was we could try and find a better hotel elsewhere. You are lucky that you are reading these reviews. Do not waste your money, do your research and do not stay here.

Great family size apar**ent located right across the road from the patrolled beach, cafes and restaurants. There was also secure parking under the building. Although we didn't use the local buses, there looked to be frequent services to Bondi, Randwick and the city. I would definitely recommend this property to anyone looking for a family beach holiday.

Beautiful apar**ent and size but absolutely no sound proof as stated and may as well slept in the street. The windows felt like there was no glass in them. Room 806 view very restricted to the beach view as promised due to huge trees in front . Never slept for 4 nights. Shame as beautiful location but wouldn’t stay there again.

Parking, location & views were good. The gloss was taken off the trip as we were not informed of planned works on the building.

Great location, however apar**ent needed done cleaning done. Walls by the bed were dirty. Blinds that you had to touch each day was dirty. Window by my bed was broken and that made all the street noise come in. Bedrooms need to be fitted with better blinds as the street light light up your room making it hard to sleep. Couches had stains all over them. Bathroom shower tap needs fixing. I was recovering from surgery so it was so important for me to stay somewhere I could rest, recover and was clean and unfortunately this wasn’t the case. Definitely has potential.

Large apar**ents with all amenities including full kitchen and washing machine/dryer. All new appliances. Located opposite beach and close to shopping

We found this property very nice. It was clean and well appointed. The beds were comfortable and amenities were provided - shampoo, conditioner, soap, tea, coffee and sugar. We would have liked milk as well however there is a convenience shop just across the road. The property is also very close to Coogee Beach and lots of dining venues. We would definitely recommend this property and would stay there again ourselves for sure.

Wonderful sized apar**ent but the lifts were out of service all weekend. Very annoying when you are lugging a baby and pusher up and down stairs. Also rubbish when we left the apar**ent had to walked back out on the street before you could get access.
