Lovely hotel with super friendly and helpful staff on hand 24/7, has a 24 hour bar so you’ll never eat thirsty as well as a snack vending machine and amazing continental breakfast. Room was clean, tidy and spacious and had everything we needed, if you forgot anything you could ask for it at the desk for free.

The two receptionist were very helpful and went above and beyond to assist us when we checked in at the Coventry - Mile lane CV1 2LN, on a rainy coronation day. The duo were exceptional. Unfortunately I misplaced their names, a lady and a man. Thank you for your kindness and prompt assistance! Also, the hotel was very neat and clean, the room smell nice and fresh, the bathroom was very clean with clean towels, soap and shampoo, and the bed was very comfortable. I had a pleasant stay, great value for money! Excellent!!

It was a clean and quiet place to stay, and the room was big enough. If you need to use 24hrs gym, it's just 10/8 minute walk from the hotel you find Puregym. There are lots of food choices, including around 3 kebab shops across the street and 1 Thai & Hindi near the hotel. If you are looking for something fancy, just working 10 minutes, you will arrive at the Coventry market, with plenty of choices near the market.

A spotlessly clean room, in an excellent location, within easy access to Coventry & Warwickshire. This was our first time staying here, so the peculiarities of having no one on site, was a little daunting prior to arrival, but the information we received ensured there was nothing to worry about. The access code allowed easy entrance to the building and our room (room 7) was spacious and spotless. There is ample parking in front and at the rear of the property and we found everything to our liking. One special mention needs to be the ease of access in to Coventry from here, with the route through the new ”JLR access road” meaning that there is no need to go on to the busy A45 at all, as it brings you out at the London Road, so the CBS Arena and City Centre are easily accessible, as is Kenilworth/Leamington & Warwick plus Rugby and the M45 is only 15 minutes drive. All in all we were really pleased to have found this little gem, with a couple of pubs & restaurants within walking distance, it is very good value for money.

Every member of the Hilton Team we met during our stay were fabulous- receptionist, bar staff, executive lounge team, Brightsmith Restaurant, house keeping, breakfast, concierge - all keen to help, have a pleasant chat and a laugh- yet continue to work and remain professional - very tuned in to guests and the guest experience. A credit to themselves and the hotel. Our room was exceptionally clean and I have to say the bed and pillows were the best I have ever slept in, amazing. The hotel was busy which added to the atmosphere and buzz. Yet the bedrooms were really quiet. In my opinion The Metropole has the edge over other hotels. We stayed here a few years ago and it still has that 'plush' appeal, it is a treat to stay here - it was like coming home and we intend not leave it so long before we return again. Thank you all.

It's a chain hotel close to a busy airport, so:
A/ You should expect a noisy night from aircraft and a busy road outside or
B/ Ibis should have spent a bit more on noise insulation.
Whichever your view, it was a night disturbed by noise from outside. My view was A, up until 1am and I veered towards B thereafter.
That said, it was immaculately clean and the staff I encountered were polite, helpful and cheerful.
It is, as I say, close to the airport and I booked it with the idea that I could walk from Birmingham International railway station to the Ibis. And I could walk from Ibis to the departure gate. In theory, yes I could have done that, but given the types of roads I would have had to walk along, I would have been in mortal peril if I had tried. A £6 Bolt fare each way should be added on to the cost of your stay as the nearest bus stop is almost as far away from the hotel as the airport itself and requires a similar walk along dangerous roads for pedestrians.
To be fair, all of this was fine. I would have liked to know beforehand, though.
Of all the budget chains I think Ibis is, generally, my favourite.

I have stayed here a few times when flying in or out of BHX early or late and it has done the job consistently, right next to the terminal, quick check in. clean comfortable room. I asked for a high floor with a view over the airfield and got it .Decent price booking in advance.
5 Either a short walk to the railway station or you could use the transit link.
I didn't use the bar or restaurant but they seemed to be quite popular.

Stayed for a couple of days whilst we visited local historical sites. Room was excellent as was the pool and general facilities. Was surprised the bar evening menu is the same as the main restaurant - seems little point in not availing oneself of the restaurant since it is much nicer and costs nothing more! Many thanks to the bar staff (who sang happy birthday) and Rieann and Ionda in the restaurant for their friendly service.

Family stayed at this lovely hotel and only had good positive experiences. We previously had a bad experience of Crowne Plaza elsewhere and this stay put our faith and trust into the group again. Will stay again and recommend for events and stays.

PPengguna TetamuWe were able to check in at 3.00pm. Room was very nice, slippers and robes provided and the tea/coffee facilities had the added benefit of a coffee machine. Bed was very comfy and warm with lovely pillows. Breakfast was good. Everything there that you would expect, cooked well and hot. We were a little disappointed though on the morning of departure when we attempted to get the lift down to reception only to find when it arrived that the maids trolley had been placed in there so we had to use the stairs. This caused a problem for my husband who suffers with his hip. Secondly, on leaving we were not informed that the barrier was open. We saw the sign in the car park saying we needed to get a token from reception, so we drove back and went in to reception to ask, only to be informed we didn’t need one. It would have been helpful to have had this information on checkout. Other than this everything else was good

ZZhanqianyingBest swimming pool in Conventry, extra £5 per day per visitor, so I didn’t join. Self-check in, no service. Pub and Starbucks downstairs, Friday 4pm onwards free car park until Sunday. Weekday parking fee applies.

Having read some of the reviews I found them a bit harsh. Currently staying at this hotel, lovely twin room at the back. Super comfy bed, and everything you would require from hair dryer to iron and board. The room is warm enough even without heating on which is welcomed. Breakfast has everything you need from a hot/cold buffet. The full breakfast was very good, constantly being topped up with freshly made items. Would definitely stay here again and would recommend.

AamsfromausWe stayed here for 2 nights. Our room was small but comfortable. Bed was comfortable. The bathroom really needs a good clean with bleach to remove the black mould around the bath/shower. It's a bit out of the way with no other options for meals except at the pub the hotel is attached to. The food from the pub is okay, nothing special and expensive. Out of the 3 meals we had there (2 dinners and 1 breakfast) every one was missing a main ingredient. Our lamb kofta came without the yoghurt and mint sauce, the mixed grain hallumi salad came without the mixed grains or the hallumi, and the breakfast berry yoghurt bowl came wiht one strawberry sliced paper thin and no muesli. Every query came with a ”sorry about that - we're out”. The one good thing was plenty of parking.

TTrent HutsonPerfect room for the night - but was disappointed that it took 45 minutes to get into my room after a long days work in London.
The main door and room codes weren’t provided after my booking, and staff were confused/ repeated questions - wasn’t too impressed with that unfortunately!
Would recommend but felt short changed and the organisation of the place for bookings needs reviewing.

NNeil SDifficult to find... I arrived quite late - 21:30 as I was there for a training meeting lasting 2 days. The bedroom was like a 'Butlins' style chalet, on the ground floor. As I entered the room, I noticed there was a strong smell of cooking fat, that was uncomfortable, and the carpet had some dark brown stains. The paint was coming off the walls in places, there were clearly 'plaster and paint' patches in multiple places, and there was a hole in the ceiling (size of a tennis ball) where the wi-fi device was coming through. At £85 per night including breakfast, although the car park was free - it's not worth it. I went to reception to complain, and was told that there were no other rooms for me. I had driven 100 miles and almost 2 hours. When I asked what their complaint procedure would be - got a piece of scrap paper with a barely legible hand written email address - possibly in the hope that I wouldn't be able to read the address! I chose to drive home again, rather than stay here! Drove the 100 miles again in the morning to my training course and booked another hotel. Needs demolishing - repaint wouldn't be enough.
