My husband and I went for our honeymoon over New Year’s Eve. Let’s just say we are trying to spin everything in a positive light because it was our honeymoon and we wanted to look back and have great memories, however, that’s unfortunately not entirely true. The customer service is TERRIBLE. We paid so much money to be treated like an inconvenience. When we asked questions, we were looked at like we were stupid, and never really given an answer. Some employees knew what was going on, most did not. We felt like we were out of “the know” and we were supposed to just know what was going on even though they don’t even provide an actual map of the resort anywhere. Huge communication issues throughout the entire resort. They were constantly changing the lineup/schedule and not updating it anywhere, nor telling their employees the updates. We heard multiple other people complain about this. They would change or cancel events entirely and when you would ask an employee, they would tell you misinformation and it left everyone confused and disappointed. They moved the NYE event inside AFTER it stopped raining, which did not make any sense and was another disappointment. If you stay at Sandals Royal Curaçao, just know you are basically trapped on the resort for your entire stay. They make it nearly impossible to get off the resort and spend money outside of Sandals, sad for the Curacao economy in my personal opinion. The worst part of our stay was getting yelled and humiliated in the main lobby by an employee. Just what you want to pay $8,000 for! To make a long story short, we planned a Blue Curaçao tour and paid in advance for it before realizing they trap you on the resort. We asked when we arrived how to go about getting a taxi for our tour and they told us to call the morning of at 8AM and they would arrange a taxi and charge it to our room, easy enough right? Wrong. We did that exact thing and even called down the night before to let them know we would be needing a taxi in the morning. We were told one would be there for us at 9AM and to come down a little earlier to sign the receipt to charge to our room. We had to go through a company called Island Routes that has a help desk right in the main lobby of the resort. When we got down there, not only was there no taxi for us, but also a VERY rude employee that acted like we were ****** for trying to get a taxi in the first place..? She not only yelled at us and told us we did everything wrong (we did exactly what they told us to do) then she completely ignored our existence and wouldn’t speak to us nor try to get another taxi for maybe later in the day. All the while, she was getting MULTIPLE other taxis for other couples that booked their tours through Island Routes. We ended up speaking with a manager who called us a taxi, that arrived 3 hours later. We obviously missed our tour. We called for the taxi at 8AM and we didn’t get in a taxi until 1PM. No recourse happened to the employee that yell
