The property is really charming with a beautiful courtyard! Booked a massive room which came with an equally massive bathroom - loved it! The location is very good, and very near a post office where I sent off some postcards. The bathroom could do with perhaps a mirror with light which will be really useful for ladies trying to do their make up! Otherwise I think it’s great value for money.

Jawapan daripada Pihak Penginapan: Old Dali has always been a town of dreams and longings. Before the new highway from Kunming and an airport with flights from major cities in China, it was a town for international back packers, Chinese wanderers and a free zone for artists, writers, musicians as well as for film and television actors, actresses and directors who wanted a reprieve from the competitive challenges of daily life in big cities. They came for the good weather , the mountains and clouds which surround Old Dali, and the views of the remarkable Erhai Lake which extends for miles. They also came for the camaraderie of old and new friends and the interaction with people of diverse social, cultural and economic backgrounds. The other draw was the lively and colorful Bai culture in nearby villages including Xi Zhou and Shuang Lang. Some Chinese bought or rented houses in Dali and nearby villages or arranged to stay in guest houses during vacations. Others stayed permanently to begin a new life. They opened guest houses, cafes and bars and an interesting music scene emerged. Once major newspapers in the US described Old Dali and its surroundings as a blend of the bohemian neighborhoods of San Francisco and the French Riviera. This analogy no longer completely applies, because today Old Dali is a major tourist attraction with numerous guest houses, restaurants , cafes , bars and shops. Nevertheless, it remains an oasis for young people who long for a life different from what big cities offer them, and it remains a free zone Chinese involved in the arts. JiKuo guest house is located in Old Dali close to East Gate and is at the center of tourist activities, but its impressive garden and rooftop with views of the mountains can provide a retreat from the hustle and bustle of the lively street life outside. There are rooms for dinners and private parties. Staff members can help arrange trips and give advice for what to see in Old Dali and its surrounding area.Everyone at JiKuo guest house thank you for your stay. We look forward to your return when we will have more opportunities to share our experiences . We wish you well.

Excellent place to stay. Very close to old town. Breakfast is fine. Problem with hot water, but otherwise it is a 5 star service.

We stayed in a room with skylight and it was beautiful in the evening. Not to worry about any bright sunlight, there's a sliding cover to block out the sun during the day. Hot water is instant and the AC is capable of blowing hot air, wonderful in wintry December. The room was cleaned every day. Breakfast was simple but nevertheless nourishing and promptly served. Location of the hotel is good, near to many eateries and it's within the old town. Overall a good place to return to after a day of travel.

regretted not booking this place earlier but this is really one of the most comfortable room and stay i had while in Dali ancient town. Location was close to the activities at night and near for shopping/ exploring in the day time. Though it was a small team of hosts, they were on the ball to ensure you are not waiting for too long, that you are well taken care of.

Jikuo's location was great, and the room was nice. I really liked the air heater in the bathroom, which makes stepping out of the shower in winter so much more bearable. The hotel staff was helpful in providing suggestions for food and directions to major places of attraction. My only minor gripe is: I wish there were more power sockets available for charging of devices.

The rooms were clean and comfortable, they gave us wonderful afternoon tea and served breakfast. We loved the aesthetics and the hotel is located in an excellent area. 5/5 Jikuo Mijing garden hotel is the perfect place to stay for a comfortable adventure to Dali.
