Hotel Sonar Bangla Darjeeling

The sonar bangla is an excellent hotel situated in the bustling mall area, just below the gleneries. Service is superb, no extra charges made for room food services, the kanchanjangha facing rooms are just amazing. Full marks for cleanliness, decor and hygiene. Washrooms are clean and provided with all amenities. Food is simply excellent. Only improvement point i would suggest is that the rooms do not have a wardrobe. Also the rooms are pretty small, due to which we were bound to scatter all the woolens and clothes all over. Rooms size - can't be done much about. But definitely there is room for a wardrobe in each room. The tv can be easily shifted to an adjacent wall giving space to a wardrobe. I found it really necessary. It gives a very homely vibe if you are in search for a good bengali hotel. Staffs are courteous, smiling and swift in service. Will certainly visit again.

Best location. 1 min walking to mall road. Just behind the glenarys. Staffs are very much polite, helpful & caring. I book 3 bedroom suit. Very specious & well maintained.

Very worst and terrible experience we had with staying @ sonar bangla hotel. In this kind of weather, geyser was not working properly.

beautiful property…with neat and clean rooms. restaurant serves excellent food at quite decent prices. complimentary breakfast could be a little bit better in terms of variety. the staffs employed are well mannered and helpful. a solid 8/10 from me.

In this hotel, the bed cover sheets were also very dirty, i told the hotel staff about this and they changed it, the hotel staff are very polite behaviour, it is very difficult and costly to get a room during holiday vacations. This hotel does not have parking, i would recommend to arrange parking in advance.
