Hôtel Barrière le Normandy

During my recent visit to a restaurant, I had an exceptional experience. From the moment I walked in, the staff greeted me with warmth and professionalism. The atmosphere was cozy, and the service was prompt without feeling rushed. The server kmais was attentive, ensuring we had everything we needed. The food was beautifully presented, fresh, and full of flavor. Every detail, from the ambiance to the service, looking to come back again with my family next year

Having stayed previously and found it quite satisfactory for an overnight stay we visited again recently. The reception staff, voituriers and bagagistes were welcoming and efficient. The De luxe room was fine for one night. The Belle Epoque restaurant however was appalling. We arrived at 19.26 for a 19.30 booking but were told to wait in the hallway of the hotel until the doors of the restaurant were opened, even though we could see that all the tables were ready and the staff were standing around! We were allowed in after the time was up and led to a table by a young waiter who did not seem to know quite what he was doing. We ordered an aperitive while we surveyed the menu. The order was taken and after asking three times more for the aperitive it arrived at the same time as the first course and the wine. The first course was unexceptional but the (I think!) Ballotine de poulet was totally inedible. It tasted as though it had been there from lunch serving under the heat. Having complained to the young waiter the plate was removed with a few unintelligible grunts. I was then asked if we would like a desert to which the reply was "Definitely not". Another waiter appeared and asked if we had enjoyed our meal and was surprised by the answer. On leaving the restaurant we were again asked by another member of staff if we had enjoyed the meal!!! Clearly there was no communication between the staff whatsoever. A dissatisfied customer was allowed to leave without the hint of an apology. To add insult to injury I was again asked the same question at check-out and also found that I hade been charged for the plate. I made it very clear that this charge must be removed. Reluctantly this was agreed to by yet another member of staff who had been summoned from elsewhere. In summary a complete and utter shambles. Someone needs to get a grip.

Hotel looks tired and shabby needs a good luck of paint and a good **** on private terraces Large group of corporate staff using bar areas so no where to sit in lounge all yapping on phones and using laptops in groups not good for paying guests !! Room was very small for a large price Toilet area too small to close door Bathroom tiny Aircon was ok Room service club sandwich was absolutely Terrible , mushy cheap brown bread with a gallon of mayo and soggy lettuce disgusting Chips all over cooked and scrag ends Vegetables limp green beans , a bowl of cold broccoli carrots and pomegranate - random Tried this hotel as stayed at the royal barrier earlier in year and this didn’t have aircon and this hotel was meant to be 5 star definitely not More like 3 star Breakfast was in the shabby restaurant are which was cramped and hard to find anywhere to sit that you were not blocked in as you have to get up to get food Only one toaster so massive wait very poor choice of food for the price wate of money very disappointed Would not stay here again disappointed

The hotel is old traditional but very elegant and nice.There is an air of sophistication and luxury.The hotel ****** is next door . Special thanks to Ms Emilie and Ms Nicole for taking care of us (Chambre 119) and upgrading our room.Both the ladies were very humble and kind and very efficient .The service is A+ and I would definitely visit agin with my wife and daughter.Absolutely fantastic experience.
