This hotel was conveniently located for visiting the nearby colleges. Rooms were clean and quiet with plenty of parking. I was excited to discover that the fitness room had a Peloton bike, but then disappointed when I found the bike was not registered so I was not able to use it with my account and access all the benefits of the bike. However, fitness room was clean and larger than typical Hampton Inn hotels. They had a good breakfast selection and the lobby was spacious and clean. They are finishing up renovations so this hotel had a more modern, newer look. I appreciated 24/7 access to coffee and hot tea in the lobby.

What a disappointment! Love Springhill Suites and stay in them often but this is the first time I have been disappointed – how is this hotel in the Marriot family? It has the Springhill brand but really, it’s a very old, converted conference hotel in an old building that has not been kept up. Lobby is fine but the room was NOT clean, had outdated furniture, and the heating and air system made so much noise it was impossible to sleep. The front desk staff was efficient and pleasant, but the room was dirty, not simply ”not clean enough” but dirty. I found so many little black hairs in the shower it made me wonder if housekeeping just replaced the towels and mopped the floor because the shower stall was gross. The surfaces in the room were sticky and found some items behind the nightstand from former guests – again, not sure how they keep the brand name when the rooms are so subpar. There is ample parking and the rooms are large so maybe this okay for sports teams as I saw a lot of them coming and going – maybe teenage boys don’t mind dirty bathrooms but do not recommend for anyone else. Also noted the hotel had dumped a bunch of mattresses and sofas behind one of the buildings (in photo) so not sure why these were dumped and why they are so visible from the parking lot?!! I did not expect the room to be as big as it was! It was clean. The AC was especially powerful, which was nice since Texas seems to be one big heat advisory these days. Big shower. The couch was comfy. Big TV. The location can’t be beat! Close to everything, including the University! We brought our son up for college and having everything so close was terrific. Texas Roadhouse is right next door. Buc-ee’s is right across the intersection, and Target is around the corner. It’s a 7-10 minute drive to the campus, a perfect location. The staff was very friendly and let us use their storage to keep some oversized luggage secured while we got some brunch at Old West Cafe (best breakfast place in Denton!) This is the hotel we will stay at for the next four years when we go to visit.
