We was very disappointed with our stay in desenzano for our honeymoon. We stayed in malchesine for 3 nights and venice for 3 nights. And to end our trip decided to stay here as it was close to a lakefront for swimming. We thought we had safely researched everything down to having to pay for chairs and umbrellas which was fine. On arrival we checked in early which was great. Our room was one of the more dated ones on the first floor. With wallpaper pealing back in places and only one pillow each. But that was OK as we are not very fussy. What we found very disappointing was the bar next door with ridiculously loud music every night. On 2 nights they had a dj which was so loud we struggled to sleep even with the shutters closed. Staff was friendly but the air con broke for 2 nights and toke to long to fix. Was 35 degrees outside felt hotter in the room at times. Breakfast was OK as long as you got down early, wasn't replenished enough. If you came down for 9.30 not alot left. Road was very busy and alot of police everywhere which wasn't the case on the rest of our trip in other hotels. We tried to find somewhere else to.stay but sadly was to late. So we decided to try to sleep there and head into other parts of the lake like sirmione and day trips into verona. I've never left a bad review for anything before. But felt very let down by the noise of the lido bar which was meant to finish at 12am but some nights went on alot longer which left us unable to enjoy the balcony we paid for in peace! We stayed in a 2 star hotel in malchesine which was by far better then this hotel ( which is meant to be 3 star) with a nice balcony and ratten furniture to relax and enjoy the views. We was so disappointed by this honestly they shoukd make it clear there is loud music throughout the night with alot of people abit worse for wear by the end of.the night. As this suits some but not us. We planned on bringing the children next year as gardaland etc is close by. Only positive is I now know not to. If you want nightlife it's perfect for you. If not give it a miss. Much better parts if desenzano to stay in

Beautiful hotel. Lovely staff. On the shore of lake Gada simply stunning. The surrounding are is beautiful. The breakfast buffet is extensive. Small poolon the roof terrace is a real lityle sun trap. If you're arriving by tain taxis are scarce. Use the uber app and you will be able to get a taxi. Thoroughly recomend a stay here and the surrounding area.

If you are looking for comfortable and affordable accommodation in Desenzano, here it is! The hotel and all the amenities are wonderful (notably the comfy bed, the delicious breakfast, and the well-maintained rental bikes). But what stands out most of all is the kindness and helpfulness of the owners and staff. A wonderful place full of wonderful people!

My Husband and I have recently returned from our 3rd visit to the Hotel Piroscafo in Desenzano and, once again,everything was perfect. As on previous occasions we booked directly with the hotel via their website and were given a very warm welcome by the efficient and friendly staff. We had requested the same standard room on the top floor which had a balcony overlooking a courtyard and was very quiet. The breakfast buffet was delicious and catered for different nationalities with a good choice of cereals, cheeses, ham, eggs, various cakes and delicacies each day along with a wide range of fruit. It was lovely to be able to sit outside in the shade to eat breakfast as it was extremely hot during our visit. A lovely waitress would come to our table to take our drinks order and once she knew we liked a cappuccino she would remember this and say: ”Hello, Cappuccino”. There was always hand sanitizer available both in the restaurant and around the hotel. One of the best things about staying at the Hotel Piroscafo is it's wonderful position overlooking the Old Harbour and that it is so convenient for the restaurants and cafes with the ferry boats only two minutes round the corner. It is about a 15/20 minute walk to the train station so it is possible to visit places like Brescia, Verona and Peschiera by train for just a few Euros as train fares in Italy are cheap compared to the UK. I cannot think of anything else to add that hasn't already been said except that we very much hope to return for a 4th visit one day. Thank you to everyone at the Piroscafo.

A lovely hotel in a great spot. All the staff without exception were very friendly and helpful. The breakfasts had a good range. The bar and terrace were good. We had a standard twin room which was very clean , a bit more storage space and a greater range of toiletries would have been nice for the the price. The restaurant was obviously highly rated but only had one vegetarian dish on the menu so we did not dine there. Overall a very pleasant hotel would stay there again

The good: the view from the room was fabulous, the included breakfast was wonderful, and the attached restaurant was very good. The one thing to be careful of (and it is on the check in notes is to not leave your door to the patio open, as gnats WILL attack). The great: we had a train to Florence scheduled for 0653 on day of departure. The night before, I asked about a cab because I wanted to be sure to get there on time. The lady working the desk, said...”no problem, 5 mins”, so since it's only a 5 minute ride to the train station, I didn't think much of it. Well the next morning, I get down at 0620, there are no cabs available. The staff kept trying to get in touch, but none were responding. We were caught in a catch-22 where walking would have been impractical but the cabs said they'd be available in 10 mins. Eventually, we were stood up by the cabs and the staff on duty drove us to the station in their own vehicle. I can't express how absolutely grateful I (and my wife) are for the hospitality. They went so far above and beyond what was necessary, and even more, saved us from complications that would have messed up our trip for days. Thank you again for being so gracious and helpful.

From the desk, to the room, to the pool and surroundings: I took a small break and found everything better than expected. A special mention to the restaurant and its service: I really felt special, liked the ambience, dishes where gorgeous and tasty and the service was so responsive and dedicated I felt like being in some fancy luxury venue. Great hotel. Have just stayed for 5 nights. Decor and amenities really nice and comfortable. Everywhere was spotless! Our room was quite large and really couldn't fault it. Shower seemed to turn hot and cold all by itself but we managed. Staff were all very hard working and lovely. Even though its just off the lake It's a little remote being in-between Sermione and Desenzano. Glad we had a hire car as I think we would have struggled otherwise but if you have transport It's a good base. There is some free parking on site and nearby. Otherwise they charge 20 euros per night to use their underground parking. Nice rooftop area over looking the lake with a small heated pool. Also has another ground floor large pool though I'm not sure if this is closed now as weather is a little cool. There was an extra charge for us for the spa but we didn't have chance to use it as we were so busy sight seeing. Breakfast was plentiful. Everything you could want to eat. You could get some lunch but there was no evening restaurant which was the only downside for us. There are a few restaurants within walking distance and of course there are thousands of restaurants in the towns around the lake but it maybe would have been nice to come back from a long days sightseeing to be able to relax with a meal before we retired and didn't have to drive/walk back to the hotel after eating.

We had room 3, which was ground floor and had a decent sized terrace and we were amazed and surprised with it, it was more than we expected. The lady who runs the hotel is super friendly, and was great at giving recommendations and tips for during our stay. The hotel also offer a €9 continental buffet breakfast, we didn’t take up this offer however it is very well priced when you consider what you would pay at a restaurant. The offerings as we walked by looked delicious! I hope we get to come to this beautiful hotel again in the near future.

We had a nice stay here the staff were helpful and friendly. The room was spacious and very clean although in my opinion the furniture and décor is a bit dated and could do with updating however it is functional. The balconies are large and sunny. Breakfast was good with a reasonable choice we only had breakfast once so don't know if there are different items daily . The location its about 10 minutes from the centre for bars and restaurants and the ferry terminal and about the same to the train station in the opposite direction, 5minutes to Ins supermarket at the bottom of the street and around 15- 20 minutes to larger supermarkets. So its pretty central for everything. Disliked · Air conditioning very noisy had to turn it off at night and not very good during the day. Poor lighting in the room at night. Needs better access to the refuge bins. Soundproofing could be better. Hairdryer poor.

Sono tornata dopo tanti anni ed ho trovato un ambiente piacevolmente rinnovato. La posizione è strategica (vicina a stazione e a 2 passi dal centro). Soggiornato in camera 2 letti singoli, materassi e biancheria di qualità, frigo bar, cassaforte, zona bollitore con tisane varie, mega tv. Qualità del sonno molto buona (camera 136 è laterale), molto ben riscaldata. Il bagno ha i dispenser oltre ad altri prodotti (ciabattine molto gradite), di dimensioni minimal ...forse per la doccia bisogna valutare la propria corporatura! Sala colazione molto ”zen” - vedi foto - con prodotti sia dolci che salati (ottime le torte!), molto assortimento. Consigliatissimo, davvero una garanzia.

PPengguna TetamuOveral a good experience at this hotel. Positive points: - very nice jacuzzi on the rooftop. You can reserve per half an hour slots. - very clean rooms - good location if you want to stay in the south of Garda - good breakfast, but many pies and cakes. I find it difficult to understand why Italians eat that at breakfast. There are many other options served though, therefore this doesn’t pose an issue. Negative points: - no fridge in the room. Especially during hot summer it’s difficult - booking said parking included for free but that’s not true. There is parking down the street and that’s what they actually mean. Their own parking garage is 50€ a night. I don’t find it correct that this isn’t advertized correctly. I heard several guests complain about this. It would be better to communicate this correctly. - their elevator is really scary. It’s old and doesn’t feel safe. Sometimes you also have to wait more than 5 minutes for it to arrive. You also can’t take the stairs as alternitive- we searched but couldn’t find another way to the rooftop. Besides these few negative points the hotel is actually great. I would recommend it as the room is nice, clean & with a balcony where you can relax.

PPengguna TetamuHotel was clean and well laid out. Room we had -116- overlooked the rear. No decent view. Room compact but ok. Bathroom small and awkward. Shower cubicle very small. Breakfast good. Bed good. No kettle/hot drinks in room? Asked for kettle but was refused. Bar area nice but under-used. Pool small but welcome. Roof has excellent terrace with great views, seating, sun beds and jacuzzi. As mentioned by others, the matriarch is ever present. She did not acknowledge us on any occasion - not even a smile, or a ‘Buongiorno’. Shouted a lot at her staff. This was not detrimental to our stay however, as the other staff were friendly. Strangely you have to ask for the air-con to be switched on in the room? The hotel was a good 20 minute walk downhill to the lake and 25 mins back. Only 5 min walk from station. Would stay again.
