Only there for a meal - first night in Tasmania so needed to sort out a meal and this was closest to our accommodation (Air BnB). Place was almost booked out but staff rallied around and sorted us a table. ordered food and wine and enjoyed our evening - food was very good and service was excellent. A bit noisy but they were busy with a number of parties going on.

My partner and i stayed here only a few days ago in a king studio apartment and it was absolutely fantastic .It would be one of the best rooms we have ever stayed in .Lovely furnishings and super comfy bed all very new.We had a deck out front with outdoor setting overlooking the river even did a spot of fishing while sitting back having a beer or two .It was so peaceful here we just loved it .The whole apartment was very roomy the bathroom huge.There is also a cafe onsite which serves breakfast and lunch although we used the apartment facilities to cook our own food ,Did get a coffee and cake though which was good .Would highly recommend staying here it was supurb

Irene and Russell are amazing hosts who ensured our 3-night stay at Glencoe B & B was unforgettable. Our rooms were beautifully furnished and very comfortable. In our daughters' room, Russ split the bed into two singles. Each room is heated and has an ensuite stocked with quality towels and toiletries, and the living and dining areas have wood fires which was very appreciated as the temperatures dropped. We enjoyed sitting by the fire (with Howard the cat ^-^) playing games and reading books each evening enjoying a very impressive cheese platter created by Russ. Breakfast was amazing - fresh croissants, fresh fruits and cooked breakfast...made to order and of the highest quality. As we were visiting NW Tasmania for the first time, Russell gave us detailed itineraries and suggestions for each of our day trips including where to dine. This was invaluable and made our days out so much easier. Irene took us on a tour of the farm, and we had the pleasure of handfeeding the highland cows and meeting the newborn lambs! The gardens are beautiful - our girls enjoyed walking around meeting the free-range hens and ducks each afternoon. Irene and Russ are both very warm and hard-working people who go out of their way to make your stay as enjoyable as possible. We enjoyed their company very much and would definitely stay again.

The beautiful house is fully furnished with everything you need in the kitchen. They also provide bicycle to ride to enjoy the awesome views. There are also horses, donkeys to visit your home too. At night you are able to see babies kangaroos. So awesome view. We had a wonderful time

PPengguna TetamuA fabulous place to stay - with personality and style. The magnificent old building has been sympathetically restored and stocked with antiques in every nook and cranny. The hosts are cheerful and clearly care about what they do. We had the Grand Queen Suite which had a seperate sitting / tv area that was appreciated. If you’re not good with stairs check with the boys which rooms are upstairs and which are downstairs. Breakfast was cooked to order and was exceptional. I think we’ll be skipping lunch. In the sitting room they offer a glass of port or a Pedro Ximenez sherry. That was a lovely touch tonight and in winter it would be bliss. There is parking onsite right next to reception. Wifi worked well. Everything was spotlessly clean and comfortable. Bathroom was well stocked. It’s about a two block walk into the centre of Devonport where you will find stores and a handful of restaurants. Yet the hotel is so quiet we slept incredibly well.

We stayed in executive room overlooking the river on the 4th floor which has two televisions in the room and nice large balcony with table and chairs and good size room. The room was extremely clean and pleasant to be in with lots of sunlight. Very quiet. We paid the extra $20 for the under cover parking which was fine. The negatives was the bed was dipped downward which caused poor sleep and sore back. A few spaces for arrival parking, we drove around the block until one came available when checking in. The breakfast was okay $25each and kids eat for free was good as the variety was average. The fruit toast was the highlight. Was good value for us having two toddlers included in the $50 breakfast. Good coffees made. We would stay again for a night.

PPengguna TetamuOne night stay in an older style motel complex but functional. Complex appeared rather full which is always good to see, and we were upgraded to an upstairs room which was spacious. Stairs leading up were very steep and tread depth too small. The bottom of railing could have done with a clean from accumulated bird droppings. Free wifi always a bonus. Is close to the harbour entrance to watch sunrise / sunset and in walking distance to the surf club for a nice breakfast and coffee. Its a 10-15 minute stroll to the centre of Devonport for an evening meal. A list of recommended close by restaurants provided by owner was appreciated. Note older Tripadvisor reviews indicate onsite restaurant - this is now closed, but we were aware of this before booking.

PPengguna TetamuI had a very enjoyable stay at the Formby Hotel in Devonport. The staff were welcoming and friendly and happy to help with things like carrying my luggage up the stairs. The room was light, clean and comfortable. The bed was comfortable and the en suite was bright and lovely with plenty of hot water. The room had a great view of the river and the Spirit of Tasmania. Downstairs there is a nice restaurant and Pokies venue and the hotel is close to shops and not far by car to supermarkets. There was off street parking in the yard behind the hotel next to a bottle shop. I highly recommend the Formby Hotel and look forward to staying there again.
