The hotel room was OK, but it was not a five star experience. Bed was excellent and the room was relatively quiet when there were no neighbors. Rooms are not properly insulated for noise, and you can hear everything from the adjacent room. Most of the amenities are very old. Also, like rest of the Bangladesh, too many people were staying in that hotel. The cafe (buffet breakfast) was always full, and no one came to offer a seat at the buffet table. Service is terrible both at the front desk and at the hotel cafe. Avoid this hotel if you prefer comfort and luxury in Dhaka, Bangladesh.

Location is great. Hardly 20 minutes from the airport through the new elevated road. Airport pick and drop facility available. Rooms are nice and comfortable. Beds are clean and comfortable. TV with cable, DVD player, centralised AC, Tea coffee maker, toilet amenities all available in rooms. There is a rooftop restaurant and pool available on the 14th floor. The staff are excellent. Very warm and hospitable. Mehedi, Sujayet Mohsin at the rooftop restaurant are superbly adjustable and warm. Safayet Ahamad, the front office manager is yet another gentleman who takes great emphasis on attention to detail. The guest’s requirements are so well attended to! The hotel is safe and feels great to stay while you visit Dhaka. They have 3 restaurants in the hotel. A spa is available too. But ultimately it’s the staff that make your stay memorable! Nice experience! 👍

On my way back from Bangladesh I stayed in the Raintree hotel Dhaka.,,, I booked this hotel via WhatsApp.. booking was taken very professionally by this young lady shuti I think that’s the name… staff very polite looked very professional spoke good English…. The rooms were very clean well designed the swimming pool on the rooftop was excellent we even had the food from the restaurant as room service it was good… The only issue that we had the two days we stayed was the air-conditioning wasn’t working very well we had them come up and fix it five or six times.. as you can imagine Bangladesh is a very hot country 32 to 35°.. without air-conditioning you’re in trouble… overall the stay was very comfortable and I would like to thank the young lady who communicated with me well done you…. 10 out of 10 for service…

We stopped for lunch at their restaurant on the first floor. Should have seen the tell take signs when there were only 2 patrons during lunch time. Ordered BBQ wings, chicken schnitzel and Spaghetti with meat sauce. First it took an entire 45 minutes to get outr food! Unacceptable when there were no other people. The waiting staff were also very poorly trained. No apologies, no empathy. The chicken was tasteless. Straight out of the freezer, devoid of any taste. The spaghetti was decent. Tk 2,600 for a terrible experience. Last time.

What a lovely hotel! I spent 3 nights here as a solo business traveler and really enjoyed my staff. The staff was incredibly helpful, kind, and accommodating. I really enjoyed the breakfast buffet, as well as the delicious dinner buffet. Also, dinner on their second floor, à la carte restaurant was very nice as well. I would highly recommend getting a cup of their special coffee in their café. The gym was very well-maintained and all the equipment was very new, a great place to get a workout in. You can head up to the rooftop for a great view of the city. My bedroom was spacious, the Wi-Fi was fast, and the bed was comfortable. The hotel is also centrally located to many restaurants, attractions, parks, and it’s very easy to walk to Bailey Road, and a number of other tourist destinations. In summary, I would definitely stay here again. Thanks to everyone at the hotel

The location was good for business, but dhaka traffic is dhaka traffic, so it was a pain to travel anywhere other than downtown. The staff were outstanding. Nothing was too much trouble. Everything was clean, and our room was cleaned daily. The only issue I had was that the bed was too hard, and I didn't sleep well the first night. I told the house cleaner, and immediately he brought a softer mattress and 2 quilts. After this, I slept well. I am a westerner and used to soft beds, my travel partner is Bengali and the bed was fine for her. So this will not be a problem if you are used to hard beds. As soon as I told them my problem, they solved it immediately. Such good hospitality. The roof top pool was refreshing and clean. The gym was very well equipped, better than some gyms I have been to.

Good to have a quick rest in a good hotel before/after the journey (5 min away from the airport). Adv to the foreigners: 1. Don't take the room facing the road.. very noisy during day/night with honking everytime non stop. 2. Amari has a mixed review and depends on the room you get. First, the good: Security is excellent. You feel safe. You’re in gulshan. Amenities nearby. Hot water pressure is good. Courteous staff. Good bar - but dusty sofa due to outdoor. The bad The road into amari is frequently jammed. A short turn in to the one way street leading to amari can take 5-10 mins. There is an odd smell in the common areas. Don’t know if it’s musty smell or sewage leak. Pick better rooms. The double bed version isn’t as comfortable as the king bed version with larger sofa set. Shower leaks out to common area due to old sealing of shower room. Floods and wets the outside. Shower head needs repair. Leaky Tv damage. It had line streaks on the tv. Poor maintenance. Floor has a dusty feeling. Overall I won’t stay again.

I recently completed a two-week visit to Bangladesh and stayed at three different hotels. I will not only review them in detail but give an overview of my experience of budget hotels in Bangladesh as a tourist. Most of my thoughts, comments, and opinions on all three of these properties are the same so there will be some copying and pasting in these reviews. Tourists wishing to arrive in Bangladesh and receive a visa on arrival (VOA) are advised to have hotel bookings and Proof of Onward Travel (POOT). I made both hard and digital copies of all my bookings and they were checked at both the airline check-in counter and immigration in Dhaka. However, no one was interested in more than a few days of hotel bookings and I only presented hotel reservations for the first four nights. This is important for those of us who are plan-as-you-go travelers and don’t like to make bookings ahead of time. In the future, I will only book the first few nights and see how that goes. I ended up canceling several reservations (bookings) I made through Agoda because I changed my plans, and now, I have no doubt you can get a better price by simply walking in. On with the review of the hotel Pragati Inn: This hotel is close to the airport and was recommended by a friend. Unfortunately, my room was extremely noisy because of the local road traffic. It is also a bit too far from Old Dhaka if you intend on exploring the most interesting parts of the city. This is a typical Asian-style budget hotel: a bit dated and could use some maintenance and a coat of paint. Having said that, the room and bathroom were surprisingly clean, and the air-conditioning and hot water were excellent. A complimentary breakfast was included in the price, but I did not try it. The wi-fi was so-so, in all three hotels I stayed at. I thought that the price I paid through Agoda ($45.75 USD) was a bit high for what I got. The owner of the hotel confirmed that if I were to book directly with the hotel, I could get a room for roughly half the price. I would only return here if I needed to be close to the airport.

I recently completed a two-week visit to Bangladesh and stayed at three different hotels. I will not only review them in detail but give an overview of my experience of budget hotels in Bangladesh as a tourist. Most of my thoughts, comments, and opinions on all three of these properties are the same so there will be some copying and pasting in these reviews. Tourists wishing to arrive in Bangladesh and receive a visa on arrival (VOA) are advised to have hotel bookings and Proof of Onward Travel (POOT). I made both hard and digital copies of all my bookings and they were checked at both the airline check-in counter and immigration in Dhaka. However, no one was interested in more than a few days of hotel bookings and I only presented hotel reservations for the first four nights. This is important for those of us who are plan-as-you-go travelers and don’t like to make bookings ahead of time. In the future, I will only book the first few nights and see how that goes. I ended up canceling several reservations (bookings) I made through Agoda because I changed my plans, and now, I have no doubt you can get a better price by simply walking in. On with the review of the hotel Pragati Inn: This hotel is close to the airport and was recommended by a friend. Unfortunately, my room was extremely noisy because of the local road traffic. It is also a bit too far from Old Dhaka if you intend on exploring the most interesting parts of the city. This is a typical Asian-style budget hotel: a bit dated and could use some maintenance and a coat of paint. Having said that, the room and bathroom were surprisingly clean, and the air-conditioning and hot water were excellent. A complimentary breakfast was included in the price, but I did not try it. The wi-fi was so-so, in all three hotels I stayed at. I thought that the price I paid through Agoda ($45.75 USD) was a bit high for what I got. The owner of the hotel confirmed that if I were to book directly with the hotel, I could get a room for roughly half the price. I would only return here if I needed to be close to the airport.

Best hotel ever,zeker the Cove restaurant en de bediening van Graddafi,Reaz en vooral de rest van het personeel.De kamers zijn heel schoon . Ze rennen voor je wanneer je iets nodig hebt. Het hoogtepunt van ons verblijf was toen de ATM apparaat in het hotel niet werkte en er geen geld gepind kon worden. De oplossing was simpel, achterop de motor van de bewaker naar de dichtsbijzijnde ATM ! Een fantastische ervaring op zich!Volgende keer gaan we zeker weer hier verblijven !!!

Hotel is conveniently located very near the airport. The checkin n check out was very smooth. The facilities like the gym n spa was fully equipped and clean. The service staff at the poolside and restaurant are very friendly n attentive. Quality of food in all the restaurants are good. Overall, it was a prefect hotel and especially enjoyed the daily complimentary coffee at the lounge.

While applying for my visa on arrival, the officials insisted on keeping my printed hotel reservation, so make sure to print it twice! Even without the hardcopy, I had no problem checking in, and was warmly received. My room was modern & looked nice, with funky blue lights. It featured a sitting area, a minibar and sufficient closet space. The bathroom was small, but functional. The biggest drawback was the WiFi, which didn't work most of the time. Even when it did work, it was excruciatingly slow and basically unusable. I quickly resorted to buying a local SIM card. Even without WiFi, the Hotel Skuktara offers great value for money.

The hotel room was OK, but it was not a five star experience. Bed was excellent and the room was relatively quiet when there were no neighbors. Rooms are not properly insulated for noise, and you can hear everything from the adjacent room. Most of the amenities are very old. Also, like rest of the Bangladesh, too many people were staying in that hotel. The cafe (buffet breakfast) was always full, and no one came to offer a seat at the buffet table. Service is terrible both at the front desk and at the hotel cafe. Avoid this hotel if you prefer comfort and luxury in Dhaka, Bangladesh.

Just a wonderful hotel overall! Great location, close enough to major attractions in Dhaka, including the train station for onward travel to Khulna (the gateway to Sundarbans National Park). Hotel staff were friendly, welcoming and courteous, upon arrival, even allowing me to check-in much earlier than the stated check-in time. Room was clean and was spacious enough for a solo traveller! Room amenities included a working mini fridge, flatscreen tv with satellite (and at least several English speaking channels), working air conditioning, strong wifi signal, an electric kettle, tea, Nescafé 3-in-1, sugar, a 1.5 litre bottle of water and basic toiletries including a dental kit, comb, bar of soap, shampoo and shower gel. Towels were clean and toilet paper was stocked! Beds were comfortable and linens were very clean, almost new! Included breakfast buffet was delicious and appreciated! Location of the hotel was also great in terms of shops, and mini markets. There is a moderate sized super market about 700 metres from the hotel, where I was able to find most everything from fresh fruits and vegetables to bottled water, dried foods and snacks, treats. Staff allowed me to store my bigger backpack there for the day while I was sightseeing in Dhaka, and before my night train to Khulna! Thank you so much!

Services by the staffs was great which made my stay comfortable and special thanks to Mr. Hossain The hotel is relatively close to Old Dhaka and is conveniently located. food was great. Overall a pretty decent choice if you don't have unrealistic expectations for this price-range in Dhaka.
