Baobab Beach Resort & Spa

I have arrived on 29 December, 14:30. Waited for the room to be ready one hour. I have tipped the receptionist with 20 euros, but I do not advise for this, because it’s useless. The room they gave to me, Bustani area nr.46, it’s old, dated, lack of cleaning and all shelves couldn’t be opened, they are old, repainted several times, so this is it. They sold old rooms at the price of new one …The shower, does not work and tv either… I had to go several times to the reception to complain. We have arrived from a safari, and could not take a shower few hours….At this moment I am in the hotel, tv is still not working, so it’s real time experience. The beach is beautiful, food good, especially fish grill, wi-fi works sometimes, but no signal on the beach. The drinks on all-inclusive package are limited and all spirits are kenyan. Many cocktails and mock-tails to choose from. No sparkling wine (only if you pay for). However, as I mentioned, average at the price of premium!

The accommodation is the best thing this Resort has to offer. The room was very spacious, bed was very comfy, the AC was working all the time without any issues, Wifi was working very well in the room (much worse in the area throughout the resort). Bathroom is nice just no hot water for us. One big no-no were the gaps below and on the side of the front door, with having also no mosquito net above the bed it was very apparent that light from out room attracted insects inside thru those gaps every night. Service and staff in general are very nice. One thing. Please, for the love of God, if you take all towels from the room don't make us wait for them 2 days :D this happened twice during the stay. I am a guest that is not causing any extra headache to the reception I just waited (maybe that was the problem, I should have said something) but I got to talk with neighbors and their towels were missing for day or 2 too. Food in the restaurant was very tasty yet very very repetitive. Every day the same thing just prepared differently. Swahili cuisine every Sunday was a blessing, absolutely amazing, keep it up. One thing they can really work on is the ”architecture ” (for the lack of a better term), as with heavy rains (expected or not) nobody should get rained on during breakfast, lunch or dinner (goes for the staff too, they really tried to move the tables and sweep the water away, but that shouldn't be in a 5 star resort). And maybe turn down the music a little bit (please?) it was very loud during the dinner. Where it needs more work done too is the animation or the program throughout the day. Other than water aerobics and the animation team dancing as part of night entertainment (which was magnificent honestly) there was really nothing to do in the hotel. We came in a time when the beach ”collapsed” below the volleyball pitch so I understand they couldn't do that, but nobody tried to fix it during the 13 days we were there, a bit of a shame. And an absolute nail to the coffin is the access to the ocean from the beach. It looks lovely when the tides are high and the waves are splashing to the staircase in the front of the hotel and you get to feel the power of the ocean when it hits the stones. But you can't get to the ocean during that time as you risk injury on the rocks that are sharp and very much hidden below the waves. Once the tides are gone, it's a look that can make one cry. Foreigners are traveling thousands of miles to get a taste of Diani Beach and the Indian Ocean. This resort has the most unlucky and horrible access to the ocean I have ever seen. The natural rock formations are very beautiful, creating somewhat a secluded place for a ”private” beach, because you can't walk to the right and explore the beach. Resort tried to mitigate the horrible access thru the rocks by building some sort of a road (lets say) that leads you to ocean where you have sand below your feet. But that is broken at some places too and it is very hard to
Villa Mandhari - Diani Beach

I recently stayed at the Villa Mandhari Hotel for a business trip and found it to be a pleasant experience. The staff was friendly and attentive, always ensuring that our needs were met. The hotel offered a variety of amenities, including a well-equipped gym, an outdoor pool, and a comfortable lounge area. The beach is also next to the hotel. The staff at the Villa Mandhari Hotel went above and beyond to ensure a pleasant stay. Overall, I had a positive experience at the Villa Mandhari Hotel and would recommend it to others.
Neptune Paradise Beach Resort & Spa - All Inclusive

One of the best hotels on the South Coast. Would definitely visit it again. The staff were very helpful. The rooms were neat and tidy though it would be good to have door in the shower to prevent water splasing out. A very lively hotel with excellent food. A seperate snack restaurant and entertainment for Paradise would be a good idea.
Swahili Beach

Was there with the kids and this was exactly what we needed. Service, quality and cleanliness was 5star. For such a big hotel, I’m amazed at the level of cleanliness and service. It is also ideal if like us, you don’t like itineraries when on holiday as the hotel has activities and 3 restaurants so we didn’t leave the hotel except for one night. Keep up the good work and we will definitely be back. Thank you all!
