Domaine du Châtelard

Four of us went for lunch & had the most wonderful meal in a delightful setting. We were able to sit on the terrace with views over the lake. We all had the menu du jour which was delicious: courgettes with sardine; leg of lamb with polenta, carrot & wonderful moutarde de la maison; poached apricots with a white nettle ice cream. With some lovely amuse buches, aperitifs, wine & coffee everything was perfect. The restaurant were totally unphased to hear that one of our group had an allergy to fish & shellfish & provided really interesting alternatives where necessary. The staff are very professional & attentive without being annoying. We would definitely return sooner rather than later.

A lovely hotel in a peaceful setting above a large lake which made for a very pleasant 45 minute stroll. A friendly welcome on arrival, the hotel being a comfortable mix of old and new. Room was nice, a good size and modern bathroom. Dinner was excellent, a limited choice (no bad thing) but quality ingredients immaculately presented. Breakfast was good although you had to order the night before. Nice pool but not heated. Didn’t venture in! My only complaint was no kettle in the room. Not many French hotels do - please just do it for us brits! The staff were all great.

We had an overnight stay on a really hot night with two rooms joined by the bathroom as a family suite which worked wonderfully. The hotel was busy but not noisy, which was wonderful in the heat. The hotel is very peaceful and the team was very welcoming and friendly. The pool beside the driveway was good and very much welcomed in the heat. Breakfast on the terrace was lovely. It was plentiful and fresh. Definitely worth a return visit.

Beautiful country estate with zero "snooty/snob" makes you feel you are the guests of the owners who live an elegant life here in horse country. My wife and I will always recall lying in our room, windows open to the sound of a gurgling fountain and all that fresh air. Very relaxing. Our dinner in the Michelin restaurant was that rare, tension-free Michelin experience where we could relax and enjoy the Chef's true genius of subtlety, originality and sophistication. Photos of Gerard Depardieu and Catherine Deneuve as guests adorn the walls and speak to the inn's allure. We will definitely be back. - John & Cecile Stubbs

What an incredible place We stopped here on our way home to Paris Our only regret is that we didn’t stay two nights Warm welcome and attention to details Even our dogs were spoiled with their own beds and food bowls in the room A gréât place to relax enjoy the lake and the rowing boats that are available for guests Thé restaurant is not to missed Delicate and surprising compositions for menus that are delightful With an amazing view over the lake Pool perfect size and loungers Can’t wait to go back ❤️

Le domaine est juste magnifique, la chambre et la vue est superbe. Si je dois résumer le séjour, assez décevant car l'accueil est inexistant, beaucoup d'attente entre l'arrivée et le départ. Il y a jamais personne dans les parages. La qualité des plats ne vaut absolument pas le prix que nous avons payé, de plus la carte est mal expliquée. Les plats sont sans saveurs, manque cruellement d'assaisonnement. J'ai mangé une entrée de tataki pastèque et thon avec aucun goût. Nous étions venus pour tester la bonne cuisine qui en découle des commentaires et d'un jeune restaurateur qui nous a fortement déçu. Nous avions rempli une fiche pour savoir ce que nous souhaitions au petit déjeuner. Nous avons coché a peu prêt tout pour goûter les mets du petit déjeuner. Le matin, notre table était servie avec les viennoiserie, oeuf a la coque et oeuf brouillé, boissons chaudes...et enfin il nous manquait la moitié de ce que nous avions demandé, cest a dire charcuteries; fromage, yaourt muesli et salade de fruit. Nous l'avons signalé à la serveuse qui nous dit que sur notre fiche c'était barré et ce n'est pas pour autant qu'elle s'est empressée de nous servir ce qui manquait. ( pourquoi remplir cette fiche qui finalement n'a servie a rien ?) De plus, J'aurai trouvé cela respectueux de nous prévenir lors de la réservation qu'un mariage aurait lieu ce week end. Le bruit, juste en dessous de notre chambre était fatiguant pour un lieu aussi paisible à la base. Pour des couples qui souhaitent se retrouver au calme c'est fortement raté. La literie des chambres est TOP, nous avons dormi paisiblement. Pour résumé, c'est un lieu splendide qui mérite d'être reconnu ! Mais le service laisse vraiment a désiré.

Je recommande Lieu exceptionnel Cadre magnifique Très bon accueil Service impeccable Seul bémol... je ne suis pas resté assez longtemps pour profiter du restaurant !

Bel endroit dans un écrin de verdure accueil généreux et repas de qualité.Possibilité de dîner au soleil couchant sur la terrasse dominant le lac.
