Hotel berhampiran Dordrechts Museum, Dordrecht

As soon as we arrived we realised that the hotel is situated in the middle of nowhere. Not only are there no shops around but it is also difficult to reach without a car or taxi as there are no pedestrian roads. When we arrived the lady at the reception gave us the key and we walked in the hotel room we notice how the hotel room was freezing. The heaters were turned off while outside it was 6 degrees Celsius. It took around 4 hours for the room to heat up, it didn't seem like the room was ready for guests. They gave us a ground floor room with the view into the car park which was very noisy especially in the morning. Bathroom is very tiny, the distance between the toilet and the shower room is very small and cramped and as a large person I struggled to use the toilet. They don't provide slippers for the bathroom despite the fact that the shower made the entire bathroom into a wet room. Despite the fact that we were two people on the reservation, they only provided one body towel and two face/hair towels. There was a spider in the room right above my bed. We struggled to sleep during the night as the room diving the reception and the rooms would be slammed every few minutes. I tried to use the fridge and it smelled very bad inside and wasn't cold at all, this is why I also mentioned they were not prepared to have guests stay in that room. There was also a lot of poor communication from the staff who never checked in to see if everything is okay, I have never experienced this in my stays at hotels in the past. Never again would I ever stay here and I would never recommend to anyone. For my previous trip to Dordrecht a few years ago I stayed in Van der Valk which was 100 times better than this and was only €30 more. I regret not staying there again

We have chosen the hotel because of its location close to Rotterdam and the motorway. We had some work to do, so decided to take a Skyline Suite, so we had some space to sit and work. Regrettably the suites are made for a romantic outing. Being on the 13th floor there is no worry that somebody looks into the room. The hotel also takes an extra € 150 as bond, in case you make a mess of the room. There is a separate toilet. The bathroom area is huge. Two wash basins and lot of space, regrettably there were no glasses available. We used the carton coffee cups to drink from. A huge batch in an open area, which was not used. An open room again with 2 showers and ‘rainforest’ shower heads in the ceiling. The water pressure was not high enough to really make them work. Also no towel rails or towels provided in that room. So - unless you were prepared - you had to walk into the space with the bath in , to get towels. Only 2 towels are provided, large enough to wrap a child in… but not big enough for an adult. The quality was inferior and not nice big and fluffy for a room with so many water features. Again only 2 larger towels so if you wanted a bath and a shower, you had to use a wettish towel for the second use. No table where you could use a room service meal , nor decent chairs. No desk either, instead a make table with a big mirror. Two lounge chairs, where you can only lie in, next to the bed where you can lie in. The bed is big, but the mattress did not fit the bed! On both sides you had 15 cms space. The room has a coffee machine, with 4 coffee pods. So you’d better not be a coffee drinker. A small fridge is also present, with 2 small bottles of water, so no min bar!! For a room which costs over € 300 this can be used as a nice romantic getaway with your secret friend … but bring your own ice box, towels and coffee!!

Staying at the Postillion in Dortrecht is always a pleasure, the staff are always very helpful, friendly and just nice too. be around. The room I was in, was basic, but comfortable, the only thing I’d like to see, is a USB plug near the bed, however, I used the USB in the TV. Dortrecht center is amazing old town, not to much of a drive from the hotel, well worth going to see. I definitely would come again, a great experience, thank you 🙏.

Unfortunately, our bedrooms were full of mold. After the staff only wanted to send us a cleaning lady, we luckily got a new house. It can happen, but the staff knew immediately which house we were in. The mattresses were put aside and the mold was complet
