Hotel berhampiran Ev.-Luth. Kirchspiel Dresden-Neustadt, Dresden

We were in town for the Christmas markets which is one of Germany's best. Well, we couldn't have picked a better place to stay than here. The hotel opens directly upon the central square which is where one of the markets is located. The other major market is just a few steps further across the street. Unfortunately, we weren't given a view room and our room really didn't have a view, but it was comfortable with all the amenities you might expect. We were traveling by car so a big plus was the underground public garage with direct elevator access to the hotel.

We changed to this hotel at the last minute and I'm glad we did. The location is excellent (opposite the Green Vault museum - well worth a visit), and the buffet breakfast was very good - well-stocked, with lots of hot options. Best of all was the executive lounge which came with our business category room. The lounge had a great range of beer, sodas (we loved the rhubarb soda,) and cheese, bread, ham etc at 6pm, plus an excellent selection of coffees - it was a lovely place to hang out rather than head to a restaurant. Our room was large - as pointed out in several reviews, the sink area is 'open-plan' but the shower and loo are behind closed doors! Dresden was only a pit-stop for us on a long European trip but we were so glad we made the detour and to this hotel. (NB: the spa/sauna area in the basement is good but the sauna is 'textile free' - ie nude - which was a shock to these UK travellers!)

My wife and I have just departed the Taschenbergpalais after a stay of 5 nights. We reside in the U.K. and the hotel is one that we have stayed in many times in the past 20 years and so it is one we know well and love. We have to say that the remodelling and redesign is an absolute success. All the work has not been completed yet but throughout our stay, we were never disturbed at all by any rebuilding work. We stayed in a Palais View room overlooking the Zwinger Palace and it was quite superb with its blue panelled walls and brilliant new bathroom. The newly designed corridors and public rooms are breathtaking. However,what hasn't changed from the old Taschenbergpalais is the kindness and professionalism of all its staff One last word about the breakfast on offer here. It is superb with choices of egg dishes, fruit,breads,jams,marmalades,cold meats fish etc. If you leave here in the morning hungry, you haven't tried hard enough ! Wir sind mit Freunden und Eltern für 3 Nächte eingecheckt . Ich habe bereits vor Monaten per Maul geschrieben, dass ich wünsche, dass die Suiten nebeneinander oder in der Nähe sind . Leider hat das nicht geklappt, obwohl wir schon 13.30 Uhr da waren , und der Check in erst 15 Uhr war . Man zeigte kein Interesse , das zu klären. Nachdem wir unsere Suiten beziehen konnten , wurden wir von dem jungen Mann darauf aufmerksam gemacht , dass wir sofort bezahlen kommen müssen ( 3 Paare - 6 Personen ) . Wir haben bei Buchung unsere Kreditkarte als Garantie angeben müssen und konnten nicht verstehen, wieso wir sofort zum Bezahlen antreten mussten . Nach der Bezahlung begab ich mich in die anliegende Felix Bar , die dazu gehört . Dort bestellte ich Getränke. Als ich bezahlen wollte , wurde ich gefragt , ob ich es auf unsere Suite schreiben möchte. Darauf antwortete ich , dass ich doch gerade so dringend alles bezahlen musste bei Anreise . Ich habe dann die Getränke in bar bezahlt und bin nicht mehr mit unseren Freunden in diese Bar gegangen. Zum Kaffee …. Ich habe im Voraus per Mail gefragt , ob wir die Kaffeekapseln im Zimmer haben . Daraufhin wurde mir gesagt , dass es reichlich davon in allen Sorten zur Verfügung hat . Wir hatten eine xxl Suite mit 2 Schlafzimmern zu viert und hatten Teekapseln und nur 2 Kaffeekapseln im Zimmer - ein tolles Frühstück 🙈 Wir haben dann im Rewe um die Ecke selber Kapseln gekauft . Das Zimmer wurde die ganzen Tage nie kontrolliert, Müll war voll , WC Papier reichte nicht usw … Sehr schade , die Lage ist toll, die Einrichtung in Ordnung, aber das Personal ist ungeschult und total unmotiviert. Wahrscheinlich sind das Mitarbeiter der Bar , die dann nebenbei ein wenig an der Rezeption sich vergnügen.

Hotel was very good, nice service, a little bit small room for 2 persons, and we have heard the bells of the cathedral located in front of the hotel, even we had a room facing other side.

Il Penk è un hotel moderno che sorge a 15 minuti a piedi dal centro storico. L’hotel ha una connotazione forte, determinata dalle opere artistiche che sono disseminate un po’ ovunque, con grande concentrazione soprattutto nella hall. Le camere sono piuttosto comode e spaziose, così come il bagno che per tipo di rivestimenti risulta però un po’ old style, quindi avulso da tutto il resto degli ambienti. Molto buono il buffet sia a colazione che a cena. Sala ristorante molto luminosa, circondata da grandi vetrate e con un bello spazio esterno. Unico neo la pulizia delle camere che viene fatta solamente ogni 2 giorni. Nel complesso sistemazione molto buona.

The information is a bit misleading, the hotel is quite agood bit out of the town centre. Probably a 25 minute walking quickly. We, both 80+, needed a taxi to get to the start of the hopon-hopoff bus terminus. We only discovered when we arrived that the resuarant was not open due to alterations. Fortunately the very helpful receptionist ordered us a takeaway pizza and sugested we relax with a beer until it came. She was the first of a succesion of charming staff we dwelt with. Our room had good hanging and shaelf space but somehow did not strike one as being well designed. The bathroom on the other hand was. There is no fridge but has tea/coffee and kettle. We had a blocked basin, a handyman arrived very promptly and cleared it. There is a marvelous backery and coffee shop across the road in the Rowe Building, and a small supermarket. For a great evening meal and a wonderful view ask the hotel to book you a table at one of the restuarants in the Yenidz. The old cigatte factory almost next door.

Ein sehr spartanisch, im Jugendherberge-Stil, ausgestattetes Zimmer. Im Hotel wird noch umgebaut. Baulärm war nicht zu hören. Die Zimmer sind sehr hellhörig. Die Betten sind bequem, das Hotel ist sehr zentral gelegen und sauber. Frühstück hatten wir nicht gebucht. Fazit: Als Zwischenübernachtung oder ein Trip nach Dresden geeignet, für einen kompletten Urlaub würde ich ein Hotel mit mehr Comfort vorziehen.

I love how they are very flexible and understanding with my situation. I was meant to go to Dresden for a vacation but the airline left my baggage and had to wait in my current destination (the one prior going to Dresden) for the luggage delivery hence messing up my itinerary that ended up me cancelling my entire Dresden trip. I appreciate they agreed to have my booking cancelled and fully refunded. Meant a lot and would definitely book Ibis hotels since they have my back when things get awry.

This is an outstanding hotel. It is located across the street from the train station, but is incredibly quiet. The place is immaculate and the interior design is very well done. The hotel was remodeled in 2021 and it looks brand new. Staff was very attentive and fluent in English. The room was decent sized for a European hotel. We were able to leave our bags in the hotel after checking out so we could tour Dresden before taking a train out of town. It's one of the nicer hotels we've stayed at in recent years
