NYX Hotel Dublin Portobello
4.4/538 Ulasan
Dublin City Center
Don’t book here if you’re driving - no parking and no parking nearby. We drove around for 2 hours trying to find somewhere to leave the car. The suggested Leinster Cricket Club is closed and, when we asked someone, they said it was private and the gate needs a pass. In the end, we accepted paying vast amounts for street parking a kilometre away, but there’s a maximum of 3 hours on the parking machines. We called the phone number and it goes through to central booking in another country. They suggest a car park that doesn’t even exist! When we ring the hotel directly, no-one answers. When we finally got to the hotel, we had no shower as there was no time and when we asked reception about parking (Maria), she just gave us the same useless parking list. Her manager told her to just print it off and then walked away. I can’t imagine a worse thought out planning for guests to actually get to the building. Staff were useless and the call centre was useless. If you actually want to arrive in a good mood, book somewhere else. Utter rubbish. It is also a party hotel. Be prepared for music pounding late into the night, people shouting outside and in the corridors and girls crying outside your room.

Chambre spacieuse, propre, hôtel situé dans le quartier du Temple Bar, très animé.
Gardiner Lodge

Having never been to Dublin before, I picked the Gardiner Lodge without much to go on. Happily, I made the right decision. In fact, I feel like I hit the jackpot. I have been here for almost a week and I have had nothing but the most positive experiences. The people at the desk are supremely knowledgeable, attentive, friendly, and helpful. The kitchen staff serves up a wonderful breakfast every morning under the natural light in the solarium/dining room. For those mornings when I could not wait until 8am (at which point the Irish breakfasts begin to appear), a continental buffet has been waiting for me at 7am. The rooms must surely have been remodeled recently; mine looks and feels brand new. The Gardiner is perfectly located for my purposes, just above the corner of Gardiner and Talbot. Two wonderful (and very different) pubs--the Celt (with Irish music) and Grainger's (with peace and quiet)--are within a stone's throw on Talbot. There is espresso to be had on the intersection itself. Gardiner Street is busy with traffic, but no street noise ever reached my room (#16); only the sound of the occasional seagull. Dublin north of the river is not as ”well-heeled” as Dublin south of the river, and that's exactly the way I like it. Talbot is a wonderfully unassuming street with a pleasing mix of restaurants, formal and informal. Bottom line: I will come back to the Gardiner Lodge the next time I am here.

A wonderful hospitable service, providing with a high-protein breakfast to fuel my day by promoting satiety, and sustain the energy levels in the morning. Coziest bedroom, easy to sleep well, spacious, and ambience.
Maldron Hotel Parnell Square
4.2/5105 Ulasan
Dublin City Center
Stayed here for three nights before embarking on a multi day guided tour of Ireland. The hotel is located in a relatively quiet area of Parnell Square, just a few minutes walk from O’Connell Street, Dublin’s major street that traverses the city. Thus, you’re about a 15 or 20 minute walk from the main tourist sites of Dublin. The staff at check-in was welcoming and the hotel has a pleasant sitting area in the lobby. The hotel breakfast offered a good variety of hot and cold options. The room itself was mildly disappointing. It was a deluxe room and I suppose it was deluxe by European standards but would be considered a tad small from an American perspective. Everything was clean and well-maintained and the bed was comfortable. The decor was generically modern and unremarkable. Nothing was really wrong with the room. I was just hoping for something with a little more character. Overall, The Maldron is a good option if you want to stay in a less hectic part of Dublin but still be within walking distance of the major sites.
The Green

The Green Hotel exceeded all my expectations. It was centrally located, beautiful, clean, comfortable and the staff could not be more helpful or nice. This was my first trip to Dublin and Jessica at the front desk was wonderful in providing help and assistance. The room was spacious and everything was in proper working order. The breakfast was unbelievable and so delicious. The perfect meal to start the bay exploring Dublin by foot. I highly recommend this hotel.
