Hotel di Shazhou Market, Dunhuang

The Dunhuang Hotel lives up to its reputation! It's located right next to the Shazhou Night Market and offers a wealth of dining options. The hotel's facilities are first-class, elegant, and beautifully appointed. I originally booked a king-size bed room without a window, but the hotel proactively upgraded me to one with a window, which was very thoughtful. The room was comfortable and cozy, and the front desk and housekeeping were attentive and helpful. I stayed four nights, and while the room was quite expensive, it was a great value! The only downside was the breakfast. While the breakfast setting was pleasant, the service was friendly, and the food looked plentiful, it was almost identical every day and not particularly tasty. The hot dishes tasted like leftovers. The cantaloupe wasn't sweet at all, and there were several canned fruits on display. It's harvest season, so why not have more fresh fruit?

They offer a pick-up service, which is a plus. The location is decent; there's a bus stop for Mingsha Mountain right near the hotel. However, it seems newly renovated and there's a bit of an odor. The room layout is impractical; the sink is right by the door, and the bathroom is tiny. Our room directly faced another room across the hall. It feels like Yuntian (the hotel next door?) is affiliated with this one, and the front desk outside seemed more organized than the one inside. The hotel breakfast is just average. I have to specifically mention this: we stayed for three nights, and on the third day, we had to catch an early train, so we got a packed breakfast. Not only was there very little food, but for two breakfasts, they only gave us one bag of milk that was very close to its expiration date – only two days left, so we didn't dare drink it and threw it away. The two vacuum-sealed bread slices didn't even have a date on them. Staying at this kind of hotel feels like winning the bad lottery. Out of all the places we stayed on this Northwest trip, besides the one in Chaka Town, this was by far the worst.

I bought a game by mistake at ps5, and the landlord is also very generous and said it was fine. Every day, the room is cleaned by an aunt. 💡 [Small surprise for me by the homestay] The room has a faint fragrance, very advanced 📍 [For the convenience of the surroundings, I want to say] It is very convenient to go anywhere, 15 minutes to the airport, ten minutes to Mogao Grottoes, many supermarkets, convenience stores, restaurants around 🛏 [Housing facilities I must mention] Mahjong machine, singing, ps5. The whole house is smart, I want to turn off the lights and call Xiao Ai directly haha

Highly recommend! This hotel offers airport or railway station pickup free service. The hotel location is excellent and not so far for Mogaocave, the dunhuang night market, Mingsha Mountains.. The hotel room is super clean, wide, and has comfy.beds. Also, the hotel provided everything necessary Especially the hotel staff are very friendly and responsible for guests. We stayed there for 3 nights 4 days and the staff always helped us for traveling. They called a taxi for us to travel to tourist spots Even if they don't speak English , we communicate by translation application on the phone. They also bring us to pharmacy and supermarket. How they are wonderful and thankful. If we go there again, we will definitely stay there again. I traveled all over the world for 20 years, but I never met like the hotel and staff. Totally never forgetable hotel and staff. God bless forever! Thanks again!!!

The hotel is well located in city center and provides complimentary pick up/drop off service from train station. There is a direct bus which goes to mogao caves right in front the hotel- making self transport a breeze. Room is spacious and nicely designed with a large bath tub. Apart from the hotel hardware, what really stood out was the extra mile services offered by the staff. There are 2 staff who really shine. Firstly, Ms tong tong （彤彤）was very patient in explaining all the touristy sites around and how to get there. She helped us book performance tickets so we could enjoy some discounts. When we enquired about transfer to liu yuan, she not only checked for all the information online for us but also personally went to the bus station to find a driver who goes to liuyuan. We're so impressed with her extra mile service!! Really kudos to her great personality and service. Next staff to mention is Mr li (李师傅）who picked us up at the train station. He suggested some dining places to us and offered to drop us off at mogao caves when we bumped into him at the hotel lobby. Overall, highly recommend to stay at this hotel.

Our stay at this riverside hotel was pleasant, thanks to the nice and friendly personnel. They were consistently helpful, creating a welcoming atmosphere. The hotel's excellent location by the river and close proximity to main tourist attractions (accessible by taxi) made exploring the city a breeze. The room was spacious and impeccably clean, ensuring a comfortable retreat. While the breakfast was just okay, the reception staff's exceptional assistance stood out—they were always ready to help with anything we needed. Overall, a reliable choice for those seeking a convenient and comfortable stay near key tourist spots.

Hotel was very nice. Everything was clean. Room big enough for two people. Not much noise. Night market and many shops nearby. Stuff can not speak English but were very efficient in using translation apps.

The room is clean and tidy, with complete facilities. This hotel was newly renovated and opened in June 25. The bedding and small appliances (kettle, humidifier, etc.) in the room are all new. The room is very clean and comes with disposable towels, which is very good. It is very close to Shazhou Night Market, and it only costs a few dollars to take a taxi. There are many stamps in the lobby, which is suitable for families with children who want to collect stamps. The breakfast is a buffet, and the Lanzhou ramen 🍜 is delicious. I will choose this place next time I come to Dunhuang.

Very good experience, hotel facilities are very good, breakfast is very good, but it is uncomfortable if you meet a group. Parking is very convenient, there are many parking spaces. It is more than 10 minutes walk from the night market. It is worth staying here.
